You Are Going To Vote Tomorrow? Right?

Are you going to vote tomorrow?

Pio1980 11-03-2014 05:31 PM

Yes, and the ads hereabouts make it so easy to vote straight Demo guilt free.

That's the problem with broadcast media. Energize your base too much and you're liable to energize the other guy's base as well.

Oerets 11-03-2014 06:58 PM

Yep!

Straight Democrat!!

Barney

icenine 11-03-2014 07:22 PM

I mailed mine in last Thursday. All Democrat except for one Tea Party candidate and one Republican however her opponent was Republican. The Tea Party candidate is the lady who lead the successful effort to get rid of the red-light cameras in our city. She ran for city council.

Right on Steverino!

We just got home from setting up the polling joint here and I'm enjoying a little bit of Weller 107 and a bowl of California's finest. I think I'll go spin up some Little Feat.
Tomorrow comes early and ends late. We're slated to start at 6AM and the polls close at 8PM. We should be home by 19:00 once all is said and done, I hope.

There you go Barney! I hope Alison can pull it off in Kentucky man. I'm keeping my fingers crossed even with the Turtle leading by a length in the backstretch. Grimes is saying it'll be a photo finish, I hope she's right my friend.

We've got one of those top two here in Orange county. I've got to hold my nose and vote for a Repub against Allan Mansewer the Teabagger. I hope we have some hand sanitizer. ;)

Will be going up the road this afternood to vote in a straight Democratic ticket as we are merely old but not senile.

Lordy Tom if I had that button I would wear it to the polls this afternoon

Probably right. The Democrats have been running from the message the GOP is spinning. Instead of running on their strong points. Elizabeth Warren should be point on the Democrat's messaging. The President should of been out more too. He was used by the GOP effectively with only silence returned.

No real rebuttals only running from the attacks. If you are going down, then go down fighting for what you believe not avoiding it.

We did the early voting over a week ago. Walked into town hall and was almost immediately advised by a judge that it is against the law to ask for ID. The guy next to me remarked, "Hey Dubya...we're not in Texas anymore." HAH!

Straight democrat. Sadly DuPage County is still the land of Henry Hyde and most of the lesser county offices have a Repubican candidate and space for a write-in. So there were a number of offices for which I did not cast a vote.

The Elephant running for governor is a low-profile Willard, a venture capitalist vampire named Bruce Rauner. Net worth just a smidgen under a billion dollars. In a number of bankruptcy cases on several nursing homes his company owns, juries found that residents had died as a result of neglect and abuse. Rauner's response? "People die in nursing homes. That's what happens in nursing homes."

If Illinoisans elect this schmuck it's more proof that everybody gets the government they deserve.

I don't really care what Obama gets anymore. I don't much care about what happens in the Congressional elections this year. The important thing is that the White House remains in the hands of the Democratic Party in 2016. The SCOTUS needs a liberal majority.

Oerets 11-04-2014 08:06 AM

I'm lucky to be living in a state where it is still a two party election, not the top two out of the primary. No matter the party. So can vote straight FKN DEMOCRAT!!!

The media and all the pundits have been on his back all year so what else is new. S**t I got a robo call at 7:08 this morning, don't they have any goddam sense here in this country, electioneering should stop 48 hours before the polls open. And why Tuesday, might have made sense back in the day but not any longer.

JJIII 11-04-2014 08:27 AM

I saw a bumper sticker that read "Democrats are the only reason to vote Republican". I guess the reverse can be said too.:)

Tom Joad 11-04-2014 09:15 AM

I voted a straight D ticket.

Since Alabummer has straight ticket voting, I only needed to fill in one oval on the ballot.

There are some bad Democrats.

I'll give you that.

But there are no good Republicans, so the choice is pretty clear IMO.

That's great. Those cameras are such a racket.

Vote Republican, you won't have a democracy. Voting will become a privilege.

Obama lost a lot of - let's say - "fans" in the last months and years, not only in the United States, but globally. The weekly magazine "Die Zeit" titeled some time ago "Obama - From Superstar to becoming a loser". This is perhaps a bit too harsh. For sure in the beginning my Obama glorification was a fault, but the reality was and is a bitter contrast to what I expected he could have achieved. I am bitterly disappointed for example concerning climate change issues, his efforts have been much too weak, because in my opinion he is a puppet on the strings of economy and lobbyism. It seems - another example - that the mighty NRA has more power and influence concerning some matters of domestic policy than he has. This man is tired. He deserves retirement but there are still two years to cope with.

You Are Going To Vote Tomorrow? Right?

Along the same line..... It's that time of year when public hearings will be starting. Please attend those of interest to you. If you don't let your voice be heard, others will decide how to spend your tax dollars.

Be a part of the process.

CarlV 11-04-2014 01:38 PM

I got out and voted against the Chevron Puppet Corp. Here it is business vs the citizens, everybody and especially Republicans register and run as Democrats. I bet we have the only full Democrat Chamber Of Commerce in the USA. I like to think of them as Demoncrats. :p
I think Chevron paid some homeless meth freaks to put out all the leftover yard signs last night.

Early voted last week. now I just wait and hope the candidate I dislike least gets elected!

bobabode 11-05-2014 12:03 AM

Just walked in the door from a 6AM-8PM + an hour and a half slog at the polls out here in SoCal. I've got my tired old dogs up on the bed and a bourbon and lemonade on the nightstand for my aching back. Too tired at this point to give a shit. I think I'll watch me some Jon Stewart and see how it all sorts out in the morning.

One thing that won't surprise is that the 'pubbies will self immolate for the next two years and then they'll suck hind tit in '16.

merrylander 11-05-2014 06:01 AM

You won't want to come to MD as it appears that idiot Hogan sqeeked in as did the GOPer for Howard Co. Executive.

ZeroJunk 11-05-2014 06:06 AM

I was surprised by this election.
I thought Republicans would win, but not quite this much.

One can argue the philosophy of the Democrat Party forever, the problem is that it simply doesn't work if you want a strong economy for simple reasons. It is pie in the sky.

For the time being people have demonstrated that they realize that either by voting Republican or just not voting.

ZeroJunk 11-05-2014 06:07 AM

Btw, condolences to Merrylander and Bobabode.

HarmanKardon 11-05-2014 06:34 AM

How does this explain Bush and his popularity? Look at how he left the nation when he exited.

I don't think its' the economy. The economy is doing just fine. The people respond to fear and lies. They believe anything told to them and that's how they vote.

You think Brownback campaigned on his record? His record is dismal. He never mentioned his record or what he intends to do in the future in his campaign. He's bankrupted the state and given a free ride to the upper class. (yes, a two class system where only the lower classes pay taxes and the upper class profits from those taxes) His campaign was entirely about linking his opposition to Obama (in Kansas that translates to "that Ni@@er in the white house), and instilling fear. The republicans have been on and on about how bad it is under Obama, the people have forgotten how much worse it was under Bush.

And the people at the bottom who are struggling still haven't figured out that it's the republicans who keep them there.

Am I saying we're a nation of idiots? Well, for the most part, yes.
