Wildfire

http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/l...912-story.html

I used to live up in this canyon. :( It's supposed to be over 100 degrees tomorrow, that's going to be extra tough on these firefighters in this super steep terrain. Damn, I hate this friggin' drought.

nailer 09-12-2014 11:28 PM

Yet you delight in the drought here.

epifanatic 09-12-2014 11:29 PM

Bad news indeed. We've had more rain here than we can deal with, wish we could send it your way.

Thanks man. That old silver mining town in the Cleveland national forest is a real special place.

My first and last Lone Star was a cold tall one - factory direct so to speak. Its contents were basically standard issue - available coast to coast from all our big industrial brewers.

National Bohemian was piss water, but the brewery's Premium and Oktoberfest were good beers.

BTW, if that picture is you I'd stop using it.

That be Rep. Louis Gohmert TP-Texas, brother Bob. ;) When I have to drink beer, it's a Newcastle or Modelo Negro.

nailer 09-13-2014 12:39 AM

I will always remember my first Negro Modelo. Had it with my first and last Chicken Mole.

HarmanKardon 09-13-2014 01:44 AM

Bob my friend I think it is really time now for you to consider moving seriously.

Wasillaguy 09-13-2014 10:26 AM

Shouldn't drink Newcastle, has carcinogens.

Good bier that Modelo Negro, in the Vienna tradition. Today I'm thinking Cerveza Sol. ;)

Thanks Chris but droughts come and go. Our Governor just signed a $7 billion bond to upgrade the storage system. I hope this drought has run it's course or we will have to dam up Yosemite valley . Just kidding.

HarmanKardon 09-14-2014 02:40 AM

Okay then - Good Luck! :)

djv8ga 09-15-2014 09:04 AM

Bobabode, have you been getting any moisture from the two hurricanes? We've been getting a lot & it looks like we're about to get slammed again.

bobabode 09-15-2014 11:35 AM

Nope. It's all east of the 405, thanks for asking DJ .

I do wonder if Bundy's ranch got washed out by flash floods, would he recognize the federal gubmint?

I'll be thinking of you while I'm getting drenched. :p

Dondilion 09-15-2014 11:50 AM

Hurricane Odile heading to Baja California. You might get some rain.

Good , I hope we don't have to send any of our hard earned tax dollars through FEMA to prop up your red moocher state.

 Do you really think that it will never rain again in California or that we shouldn't plan for the future? That's just stupid DJ.

That is a mean one. It looks like it's going mess up Cabo San Lucas.
The problem with these southern hurricanes is that they drop too much, too fast and cause flash floods. A twenty three mile stretch of I15 in Nevada got washed out by a one in five hundred year flood from the last one.

You're a fool. You save what you have, not what you don't have or plan on getting anytime soon. Just stupid politics from a stupid state.

From Wiki, CA economy is around $2.5 Trillion, AZ is $259 Billion. In CA $260 Billion passes for dirt.

"In 2012, California's 80,500 farms and ranches received $42.6 billion for their output. California remained the number one state in cash farm receipts with 11.3 percent of the US total." http://www.cdfa.ca.gov/statistics/

So DJ, keep talking and dazzle us. Fortunately whatever you suffer from is not incurable.

Depends. Mine (my well) has dropped 20" in the last 7 years.

Have at it DJ, here is an example of of your sink hole and that's from 2005. Look at the bright side, don't have to dig for outhouses. ;)

Not my sink hole & really don't know what that has to do with anything. Sink holes happen for a number of reasons.
My well will be kicking ass long after you have turned to dust.
BTW, that looks like a wash. Notice the vegetation in/around it?

Methinks you aren't looking at the long term trends DJ.

From the USGS

"Desert Southwest - Increased groundwater pumping to support population growth in south-central Arizona (including the Tucson and Phoenix areas) has resulted in water-level declines of between 300 and 500 feet in much of the area. Land subsidence was first noticed in the 1940s and subsequently as much as 12.5 feet of subsidence has been measured. Additionally, lowering of the water table has resulted in the loss of streamside vegetation."

WTF...and you are? You don't even meter your God Damn agriculture wells! We have AMAs as well! California allows for unregulated drilling & you are telling me that I'm being short sighted???:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Another insult. Dude, you have no clue & just want to play politics with this. It's amazing to me that it's California that has made zero effort to protect ground water & you just dismiss this fact.
We love the Monsoon & use the moisture in a productive fashion unlike Kali that just keeps boring more holes and turning a blind eye to an unsustainable future.

Haw, you're a fine one to complain about insults DJ.

Why don't you just troll the LATimes comments section like every other windbag blowhard tea drinker and get it out of your system before trolling here?
