Lets put Glenn Beck to the test.......

Ok so I am not a big fan of Beck, I find him sort of odd and obnoxious and its hard to watch his face but anyway he is debuting his first documentary tomorrow at 5pm on the evil FOX News network, it will run again at 2am.
I think it might be worth the time to watch and debate, not sure if its gonna be good, terrible, or even what its real mission is but its his premier so I figured why not see if anyone will watch and see where the chips may fall.

finnbow 01-22-2010 09:50 AM

If my prurient interests overwhelm me, I might Tivo it just to see what kind of "documentary" a person so detached from reality can put together.

merrylander 01-22-2010 10:21 AM

I have a pretty strong stomach, but not that strong.

Grumpy 01-22-2010 10:26 AM

Beck failed my test long ago.

finnbow 01-22-2010 10:30 AM

His one hour interview with the vixen Sarah a couple of weeks ago was entertainment of the highest order. I've never seen political satire any more ridiculous. My college age son and I were howling and laughing so hard we nearly threw up. Great fun.

Boreas 01-22-2010 10:33 AM

No interest whatsoever, either in watching it or discussing it.

You sure it was because you were laughing ?

Don't you find it disturbing to watch a man with an illness embarrass himself?

Boreas 01-22-2010 11:33 AM

My sinistral hemisphere would recommend that I be willing to watch Mr. Beck and to both assess and discuss his relevance - dare I say importance - in our precipitately devolving society.

Right brain sez: "Screw it! Go dance!"

you sound conflicted.

You have no obligation to witness such buffoonery.

I hope my reassure quells your inner conflicts.

LB: Sir, you have earned my undying gratitude.
RB: Sure, whatever.... Look at that beautiful sunset!

LB: Get to know thine enemy.
RB: Keep drinking.

Drinking does sound pretty attractive in this context.

Fast_Eddie 01-22-2010 12:42 PM

Probably a safe bet that I won't watch. Can't see any point in "testing" Beck. My mind is pretty made up and I'll admit that, as open minded as I try to be, my opinion is unlikely to change.

Yea thats why I shut off Olberman:D

Writewing 01-22-2010 03:37 PM

Well that went well lol.
I am gonna watch it, after all I watch Michael Moore and he never let facts get in the way. His movies are kinda like Borat with no laughs. Natbe the show will be horrible, maybe great just thought if everyone was on same page may make for a good debate. Cheers

Obie is different. He has the ability to have a fine show, the network just choose to make him act as a retard. Beck is the real deal.

Twodogs 01-22-2010 03:57 PM

Beck is my idle. We should all help him save America. Many people in history who spoke the truth were labelled "crackpots" or even worse, insane. Today he compared Obama with Woodrow Wilson, and it made perfect sense to me. I think he is so intelligent that it makes people with "lower than average" IQs think he's a nut.

Twodogs 01-22-2010 04:11 PM

Glenn Beck, crazy?

:p Ha I do watch Beck if I'm home early enough. He's pretty damn entertaining in an entertainment sort of way. One thing you have to admit, the dude knows how to make coin. He uses the radio show to pimp the TV gig. The one I can't take is Hannity. Jeez, he gets on something (like a certain word) and hammers it into the ground. If I had to hear one more time how the mainstream media had "besmirched" Sarah Palin, I'd chew the barrel off my .45. I think O'Reilly is a fairly straight shooter, but he does kiss Obama's ring a little more than he should (IMO). Rush is the shit though. I never miss his show. He had a new Bawny Fwank song on today and I nearly pissed myself. It wasn't as good as "The Banking Queen", but it wasn't bad.:)

Last time it was tested, my IQ was 142. But I don't think he's a nut, I think he's an opportunist. And like others on the right, he doesn't much care if he does more harm than good.

Well, fair is fair.

But truth be told, I don't think I test accurately due to my struggle with ADD. I can't do math at all. Can't spell worth a damn either. Really wish I could have gotten Adderall when I was a kid. This stuff has really made a difference.

I also wish I could have tried the new medication my doctor actually prescribed, but my insurance company "got between me and my doctor" and decided I didn't need it. It was more expensive.

Grumpy 01-22-2010 08:56 PM

Since when does IQ scores have anything to do with being smart ?

Note: I didn't say IQ has anything to do with smart. I would say that it has something to do with some kinds of smart. But as my mom always said "there's different kinds of smart".
