As bad as the Central Valley is, it would be a worse state.

I wonder how many people know that there is a town called Weed in California that is about 50 miles south of CA/OR border on Interstate 5.

The guy behind it is a billionaire who says he's tired of his money going to educate ne'er do wells in other parts of the state. He feels it would do more good spent in his own community, which, of course, doesn't need it.

We lived for a time in the early 70's in the Province of Bling. On Westmount Dr., right around the corner from...

Sorta the Province of Bling.

PS - for any of you who know W. Hollywood history, the above photo is of the relocated Institute at Santa Monica and Spaulding. The original Institute, back in 1973 or so, was between San Vicente and La Cienega. Right around the corner from our place. There were a dozen or so of these joints up and down Santa Monica that took advantage of the vague wording of W. Hollywood ordinances of the time regarding "professional therapeutic services."

Why would you destroy the world's sixth largest economy? The Bay Area and SoCal would be ok but the other 4 states would be really dirt poor. This idiot has so much money he can throw 5 million down the drain. He could have gave it to cancer research or something better.

Or the guy might be just fed up with the multitude of gate jumpers in California.

Don't have a practical response to that possibility, nobody seem to so far. One of those things that a really good time machine might help.
