Power games.

The big dogs?

The US - still the biggest
China - coming up fast
Russia - the Chrysler of this big three

We're currently in deep with these 3 for one reason or the other.

Something has been bugging me - where is the EU?

The EU is waiting for the U.S. to fall,,One thing U.S. Cannot run a sutainable war too long and China Is fully charged with Russia coming in at #2

I really deep down do not think our Goverment would go to war with China Unless China really forced the Issue,Like A offensive move or all out Invasion.

icenine 05-21-2014 04:25 PM

Chrysler is too much credit....I would characterize them as the AMC ...lol.

donquixote99 05-21-2014 04:35 PM

By the numbers, AMC.

By ability to come back and surprise everyone, Chrysler.

Dondilion 05-21-2014 05:34 PM

The EU lacks cohesion. It is a diffused unit...not too sure of itself what it really
is.

The US is equipped to run wars, whether on single or on different fronts, longer than anyone else. Huge navy, huge army, huge air force.

The US is always ahead of the other entities in terms of military technology.

22 EU members are in NATO.

"According to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), France spent more than €44 billion ($59bn) on defence in 2010, placing it third in the world after the US and China, while the United Kingdom spent almost £38 billion ($58bn), the fourth largest.[124] Together, France and the United Kingdom account for 45 per cent of Europe's defence budget, 50 per cent of its military capacity and 70 per cent of all spending in military research and development.[125] Britain and France are also officially recognised nuclear weapon states and are the only two European nations to hold permanent seats on the United Nations Security Council. In 2000, the United Kingdom, France, Spain, and Germany accounted for 97% of the total military research budget of the then 15 EU member states" Wikipedia

Then why can't they project better?

This article puts France at 5th or 6th:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...y_expenditures

If you add the % of the EU countries in the top 15 you get 11.5% vs the US's 36. Toss in another (unlikely) 10% for the balance of the EU and you still only get 21.5.

So let them complain, my take.

Pete
