Family Cat Saves Boy From Dog Attack
Some of you have probably seen this. It's gone a bit viralish on the intertubes but I think it deserves a second closer look. Watch what this cat does. Watch it in detail. There is no doubt whatsoever that its purpose was to protect the boy.
First, the cat intervenes. It furiously throws itself at the dog, stopping the attack on the boy and then drives the dog away [i]but not before looking back to the boy to make sure he's okay. After chasing the dog away, the cat returns to the boy and accompanies him and his mother back indoors. I'm definitely a dog person so this whole thing, bad dog, good cat, runs contrary to my prejudices but that's one hell of a cat! John http://www.theguardian.com/world/vid...g-attack-video |

And the owners need to be sued plus face criminal charges for allowing it to run at large. |

And, as far as I'm concerned, there's no excuse for keeping a vicious dog, loose or otherwise. John |

The ballgame shtick was stupid, but I enjoyed the opportunity to see the cat-removes-dog video again. What impresses me is the clear tactical thinking on the part of the cat. First there is the instant assessment and swift, forceful intervention when the cat sees the dog attack in progress. Then there is pursuit around the car to make sure the dog keeps going, and finally a quick decision to abort pursuit when the dog is seen in continued flight, and immediately return to the protected person.
Human bodyguards should be that good. |
Cats a Acutely Smart, they are A game predaters,I watched or adopted cat Climp A tree amcking the birds with a hard swipe and the Momma cat on the ground to administer the final blow.
The momma is tyring to get her kittens outside so they can be taught. We had to put the Pit bull In the back,so they could traverse freely in the front. I love stuff like this. Not that the boy was attacked, that sucks. But the cats brave actions show that animals can be far more intelligent than we give them credit for.
