LA Clippers (NBA team) taped making unbelievably racist remarks
 

It'll be interesting to see what the new NBA commissioner will (or is able to) do about it. What will the players do (they have a playoff game tomorrow)? 86% of the Clipper roster is African-American and 4 out of 6 coaches are as well.

Are you kidding? Of course a rich entitled white guy would be quite capable of making such statements, as would a member of the working class, the professional class, the political class or the clergy. Even though overt racism has become socially unacceptable in most segments of society, it survives.

If it is indeed him on the tape, I suspect the league will be forced to suspend him like they did with Marge Schott, at the very least. The new commissioner's handling of this will be interesting.

According to the report during the game last night, he agreed to skip this playoff game while the investigation is ongoing.

Baylor, whose career as an NBA executive was as spectacularly mediocre as his playing career was great, filed an employment discrimination lawsuit against the NBA, the Clippers, owner Donald Sterling and club president Andy Roeser in Los Angeles Superior Court on Wednesday. That Clippers owner Donald Sterling is a racist, cheap, and all-round rotten pile of puke is not newsworthy. But this latest line item on Sterling's ledger of awfulness certainly is: An LA jury has ordered Sterling to pay $17.3 million to actress Robyn Cohen, who had sued him because she lost most of her possessions in a fire at a West Hollywood apartment building Sterling owns.

A May 15 banquet for the Los Angeles chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People just became a lot more intriguing. The group is planning to honor Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling with a lifetime achievement award. This is the 100th anniversary of the L.A. chapter.

But in light of racist comments attributed to Sterling on a recording that surfaced on the TMZ website, the banquet plans might be changing.

L.A. mayor Eric Garcetti is also scheduled to be honored with a Person of the Year Award, as is the Rev. Al Sharpton. But, Yusef Robb, the mayor’s spokesman, told the Los Angeles Times on Saturday, “In light of recent events, we will be discussing the event with the Los Angeles NAACP.”

On the chapter’s website, the list of honorees still included Sterling late Saturday night. An email and phone call from USA TODAY Sports to the office was not immediately returned.

Two birds the same color?
In the bird wildlife the male has more color and is actually prettier than the female. In that photo both birds look like females to me with the non vibrant features and being the same color.
