Bureaucratic Health Care, A Glimpse into Obamacare

Coming to all Americans shortly. Your health provider lying to you like all government agencies.

A fatal wait: Veterans languish and die on a VA hospital's secret list

(CNN) -- At least 40 U.S. veterans died waiting for appointments at the Phoenix Veterans Affairs Health Care system, many of whom were placed on a secret waiting list.
The secret list was part of an elaborate scheme designed by Veterans Affairs managers in Phoenix who were trying to hide that 1,400 to 1,600 sick veterans were forced to wait months to see a doctor, according to a recently retired top VA doctor and several high-level sources.
For six months, CNN has been reporting on extended delays in health care appointments suffered by veterans across the country and who died while waiting for appointments and care. But the new revelations about the Phoenix VA are perhaps the most disturbing and striking to come to light thus far.

Do you think he'll go look it up or will he call you a child molester like he did with Tom Joad?

I took care of my mom for ten years. I could get her anything she needed to do in a day maybe two if it was not pressing. She even got gangrene from bad circulation in her fingers. She saw the doc and they brought her in immediately to cut it off. The only things she needed to wait on was if prep was needed.

I know Dave you deal with the Veterans Hospital.

My wife had prior to all this discussion of the ACA had not stopped to think about how many Anericans lacked healthcare insurance of could be denied it because of pre existing conditions. Her only conclusion is that the system is evil and that everyone should be covered.

She had always had coverage before ansd of course once we were married she was covered by my Bell Canada plan.

One question.

Was she on Medicare?

Do you know the difference between a hospital and insurance?

In reference to my comment you are quoting. Im showing the difference between two hospitals. One government operated the other privately owned.

Yeah, that's what I thought.

You don't want to answer the question because your mother was the beneficiary of LBJ's Big Government, Great Society, Single payer healthcare program, Medicare.

And she's damned lucky she had it too.

And so are you.

So next time you decide you want to take a cheap shot at government health care just remember, I'll be waiting to bitch slap yo ass.

You sound like Chester.

No she had awesome privet insurance. But I figured I would let you assume you ass off. dipshit.

And again the insurance has nothing to do with wait times in a hospital.

I don't believe you.

You said you are 52.

So I figure it's pretty likely she was at least 65 and eligible for Medicare at the time, or if not, due to the severity of her illness she was probably eligible for it under disability.

No. the reason it took you so long to answer is that you needed the time to think up a lie to cover your ass and work up the courage to tell it.

This was not the VA or VA policy, this was individuals in the Arizona VA hiding their incompetence from the system.

Most true Tom.......
Medicare is for the children who take care of aging parents also.
That is why Paul Ryan scares the shit out of me.

Do not waste time on 4-2-7.

I have private insurance too.

It's secondary.

To supplement what Medicare doesn't cover.

But I sure was glad when I turned 65 and Medicare became my primary insurance.

She did have MC but it was the opposite. It covered things her privet plan did not witch wasn't much.

Her co-pay was $5.00 a visit no matter what she needed. $10.00 a Perception. Emergency Room was $75.00 a visit.

She retired from UCSF with an awesome plan that she could take with her.

Dave mentioned SSI and she got my Dads over hers witch was a bit more. But my Dad died at 58 after retiring at 57 so he barely touched his.

You want a medal? The ACA has nothing to do with the VA. The systems are entirely different. You don't have to worry about anybody else making you look like a fool. You're doing a bang up job all on your own.

I'm enrolled in VA, had less than zero problems with them which is commendable given their work load. Hopefully the Teapublicans won't defund them further.

Not all Veterans use the VA for medical care.

The way I see it, the VA Hospitals are there for veterans that have service connected medical issues.

I didn't, so I never went there.

I did use the VA to get a mortgage on my fist house, and had no problems with them in that regard.

I also used my GI bill to take college courses.

Had no problems with the VA there either.

As for your mother she got a substantial portion of her medical bills paid by Medicare. And she got good care at that private hospital because they knew they were going to get paid.

You should be grateful that that Big Government Bureaucracy was there for your mother in her time of need.

But you are obviously not.

Yeah thats the problem when your needs are filled by the government. I would worry more about government default than any single party. We are very close to a collapse in case you did not know.

I used the VA for my first home loan and some classes I took. I've always had insurance from work, so I never used the VA for healthcare. I leave it for veterans who need it.

There is already little choice for most Americans but to use government funded healthcare after 65. Employers who provide no health benefits after retirement have seen to that. So, I fully intend to use it and SS the instant I am eligible. And to anyone who thinks ill of me for that; Fuck you, I don't care what you think. And if I catch you there, in line to fill out your paperwork, I just might use my cane to split your hypocritical skull.:p

Dave we, yes you and me will not have the opportunity to collect SSI. Unless you go on disability now. They have a choice to do a few things.

One continue the abuse of the program by the politicians and John Q public.

Closely control it, by limiting wast and charging more from new workers to help support it.

Even if they try to do the right thing now it's to late. Baby boomers are going to overwhelm it like we have done to everything else we move though life into.

It's a ponzi scheme and the last one out gets fucked. You and I are the tail end so get your Vaseline ready.
