The Mighty BlueStreak!

I just got home from the dentist. On my way back, there was an assclown in a Toyota pickup who thought he wasn't going to let the Mighty BlueStreak and I merge onto I-64. So I dropped the hammer to get out in front of him.
Already going 60 mph, she let out a lions roar, and leaped ahead with a pull that put "butterflies" in my stomach. She took off so fast I caught up to and nearly rear-ended the car in front of me. Jesus Christ is that car fast!:D

I know, this post isn't "political", but I just thought I would share this with you guys.

why thank you :)

Fun isn't it, they look at my sedate Impala LS and get smart-assed, then they get a driving lesson. My sweet grey haired wife gave a lesson to a smart-ass in a Jag with her Impala LS. We though of getting vanity plates that said HIS and HERS.

I can't believe you guys, that's road rage, and I'm proud that I don't engage is such behavior.

I just crowd 'em off in the ditch with my old beat to shit '88 model Dodge 250 FWD.

Chas

Nice! I get's a touch o' the road rage from time to time. 'Bout to come clean to you guys in another post.

merrylander 12-18-2009 07:15 AM

That is not road rage, I am laughing all the while I am handing out driving lessons.

I suppose as long as you're getting a laff...............

I've found that it I want to draw a hearty belly laugh from my passengers, all I have to do is cut someone off, while blowing my horn like a Mexican cab driver. Works every time.

Chas

Not road rage at all. I LOVE that stuff! Especially the ones who get froggy with me in their Honda Quaaludes and Toyota Slumbras. I like to humiliate them every chance I get. It's big fun. (Well, until we get to the gas pump, that is....:o)

My Dad used to have a four door Caprice with the Vette motor, same one the Highway Patrol used.

He used to get a kick out of blowing the door off of the hot rodders.

Oh, man...I used to LOVE stickin' it to the backwards-cap, tomato-soup can-muffler, slammed Jap sedan w/the gazillion watt rapcrap amp crowd in the Mighty Valdez...They could, of course, take me, but I'd walk 'em pretty good for awhile...The Mighty Valdez ain't got a V-10 fer NUTHIN'...Mbwahahahaha...

merrylander 12-19-2009 08:03 AM

The only time I bent the law a bit was on the back road I took to work, it was nearly solid double line the whole way. There was this joker in a Toyota Avalon who could not seem to find top gera, man that thing is slow. Have to admit that I passed him a few times where I was not supposed to. I had to or else I would have gone to sleep, what an iron dog.

I think he's referring to a Expedition, right Sandy?

BlueStreak 12-19-2009 01:00 PM

I checked the specs on the BlueStreak;

2009 Dodge Challenger 5.7 Hemi--
0-60 5.6 seconds,
top speed 152mph,
370 h.p., 400 ft.lb of torque.

And still gets 25 mpg on the highway.

Not too shabby for a 4,100 lb car.

Those spec's seem suspect.

Are you sure bluestreak is not a rocket? :D

Does the front end get a little light at 150?

I don't know. Haven't had the stones to go there------yet.

I always figured 120-130 was fast enough...mainly because I never owned anything that would go any faster.

Years ago, it was proven here in Bugtussell that some of those pony cars would take off like a big bird, 'specially when topping a hill. Back in the late 60's and early 70's everyone always stopped by the local gas station after church, there was always a mangled Mustang, Cuda, or an SS 396 in the parking lot.

Left up to me, I'd never get off of a gravel road.

Yes, it could be the Triton V10 but Mopar makes one too. They put it in the Viper and their pickups.

Maybe Sandy will break the suspense and tell us. :)

10-4 on that score.

Then again, most all us fellers from below the Mason Dixon are lovable cusses.

Sandy was the 1st to send me a PM from AK, and I'll love him for it forever. A most convivial sort, that peckerwood!!!!!

BTW, what does being a lib or a conserve have to do with being nice folks? As far as that goes, the Mason Dixon doesn't separate the Boy Scouts from the convicts.

Just a thought...give me some shit for sticking up for Sarah.

Hell, I play play poker with people who threaten to shoot me or kick my ass. That's how I know they like me....it's when they quit talkin' to me that I know I'm on the outs!!!!

Yeah. You could get a gas or diesel V-8 in an Excursion, but they were both slugs..And the gas V-8 did just as atrocious as the V-10 did in the mileage dept, as it was having to work so hard constantly. Really, the V-10 wasn't THAT big-413 cubic inches, sorta put it in the "middlin'" category to those of us who remember 454s, 460s, 500s...
