Without a doubt this poor gal was acting extreme, Pete. She had a child in the back and tried to ram through the White House gate and when unsuccessful she tore off up Constitution Ave. and crashed into a barricade at the Capitol where she was shot by the Capitol police. Most Federal Employees do not get paid that much at all...some clerks I know live in rent controlled apartments....this is really hard on them.

Nope. Proper procedure in a scenario like this is to take out the driver of the vehicle when that driver won't surrender. A car with flat tires can still run over a pursuing police officer.
