Shots Fired at The Capitol?

Whoa!

BlueStreak 10-03-2013 02:37 PM

Idiots. I'm not surprised. Expect more as extremists become increasingly frustrated.

piece-itpete 10-03-2013 02:41 PM

I'm sure it's a tea partier with an AR-15.

Pete

BlueStreak 10-03-2013 02:43 PM

How can you be so sure it's not?

Because the suspect wasn't armed with a gun. She was armed with a car.

Sorry the facts don't fit the narrative you guys were hoping for.

finnbow 10-03-2013 02:55 PM

Next thing you know, the government is going to require vehicle registration and licensing of drivers.;)

Whatcho talking about. What narrative? Pete made a crass joke. Are you the Great Carnak?

BlueStreak 10-03-2013 02:57 PM

Yeah, I just read that.

Two questions for ya, smartass;

What does the type of weapon have to do with anything?

And, what makes you think I had assumed anything?

I was surprised to see it was a woman. Does that mean I had assumed it was a man? Did YOU assume it was a man?

Dave

Nobody hopes for violence.

BlueStreak 10-03-2013 02:59 PM

Why did you and Pete assume we would assume it was a teabagger?

That's pretty assumptive of you, isn't it?

piece-itpete 10-03-2013 03:03 PM

Then what on earth did 'extremists' have to do with it? Extreme druggies? ;)

Pete

Without a doubt this poor gal was acting extreme, Pete. She had a child in the back and tried to ram through the White House gate and when unsuccessful she tore off up Constitution Ave. and crashed into a barricade at the Capitol where she was shot by the Capitol police. If that isn't extreme behaviour, I guess we have two completely different dictionaries.
Where did you hear anything about druggies?

Now, she's not dead, but in custody.

Again;

How do you know what her motive was?

Maybe she's pissed because she thought Obamacare was "free"...............?

icenine 10-03-2013 04:40 PM

it is a bagger...a smart, liberal progressive would not ram the White House gates with a car

BlueStreak 10-03-2013 05:24 PM

Maybe it's road rage?

She was indeed shot dead. Now we will never know what frame of mind she was in to have tried to ram her way into the WH with her young child in the back seat.

Your post number 2. You suggested that the perp was likely a "frustrated extremist.", and that we should "expect more of this."

Right. A smart liberal progressive would not have chosen a greenhouse gas machine to carry out their dirty work.

bobabode 10-03-2013 08:12 PM

C'mon fellas, this obviously disturbed lady is dead. No joking matter, imo.

So, teabaggers strike you as "frustrated extremists" bent on violence?

You're assuming I made reference to specific group from a broad term that could have referred to any one of a multitude of angry malcontents.

I want to know why you think our tea party patriot friends are potential frustrated extremists, angry malcontents bent on acting out shocking violence in our nations capitol?

Charles 10-03-2013 08:14 PM

Anyone remember when the Keystone Cops were funny?

Poor taste I apologize

just pissed off in general

Rajoo 10-03-2013 08:40 PM

This is probably more relevant to this thread.
Capitol police could face delayed paychecks because of shutdown from NBC news.

At the same time these Teapublicans are tweeting 21 gun salutes to the Capitol Police for protecting their sorry asses.:(

Federal employees who are considered critical, like cops and myself, are not being sent home but have to work with no pay. Hopefully it will be retroactive for me.

why I really see the world in black and white

good and evil

normal people and teabaggers

when the bullshit is over I will return to my politically correct self

That's odd. I never mentioned Tea Party folks. You did. Interesting.

Thank you for the info. I did not know that this was done on an IOU instead from emergency funds.

The sad thing is that some assholes do want to not pay the workers that have been sent home through no fault of their own. I am pretty sure I will get paid sometime or other.

Most Federal Employees do not get paid that much at all...some clerks I know live in rent controlled apartments....this is really hard on them.

merrylander 10-04-2013 06:49 AM

The front page of the WaPo this morning should scare the chit out of any thinking human being. Cops with automatic rifles running all over the place. Obviously they do not know how to use them as they could as easily shot out the tires as murder that disturbed woman.

Rajoo 10-04-2013 06:52 AM

Now this guy is a sick f*@k.

"Representative Tim Griffin, Republican of Arkansas, took to Twitter to imply a connection with the shots fired outside the Capitol and the heated words inside. “Stop the violent rhetoric President Obama, Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi. #Disgusting,” he wrote, only to delete the message later. "

Nope. Proper procedure in a scenario like this is to take out the driver of the vehicle when that driver won't surrender. A car with flat tires can still run over a pursuing police officer.

Well, at least he deleted the messages. You can still find messages on this board that still want to blame Fox News and Sarah Palin for the actions of that nut job Jared Laughner.

And he remains the master of the false equivalency. Let's see, how many members of this board are members of Congress???

A .357 magnum could stop the engine, they can penetrate an engine block. The police dumped enough lead into the landscape to pollute it for a century. Maybe you are happy with trigger happy cops around but I sure as hell am not.

BTW if he is 'pursuing' how in hell could she run over him?

icenine 10-04-2013 09:21 AM

She was driving a car down Pennsylvania Ave at 80 mph Rob.....I do not think the police had much choice. She had already hit one policeman.
