Oh, man....:(

What is the purpose of such insanity? Well, I'm off tonight. I'll be following this.

* Boston police confirm another explosion at JFK library, but unclear whether related to Marathon explosions.

Person of interest reported in custody. Hope they got the Sorry Ass Bastard.

Wasillaguy 04-15-2013 04:19 PM

Saw a report that they shut down the cellular services to prevent any more possible detonations using the networks.
Of course, that means thousands and thousands of people now can't communicate or get news either. I knew I held on to those CB radios for a reason.

Wise move. My brother-in-law may be an annoying sort, but he still does Ham Radio. Actually comes in very handy, when the more modern technology fails him.

Two dead confirmed, God rest their souls.

It's most likely reaction to a Youtube video, but we shouldn't speculate.... probably...

Heard a minute ago that they had an eyewitness who saw a man running from the building where the first explosion came from just before it went off. Git'em!

Whatever, man.

bobabode 04-15-2013 05:34 PM

Was, that is pathetic. That old cabin fever must be really gettin' to you.:(

Wasillaguy 04-15-2013 06:40 PM

Well I want to be clear, the video is repugnant and extremely offensive, and I denounce it.
You're right, that does sound pretty pathetic.

HatchetJack 04-15-2013 08:33 PM

This is a terrible tragedy that's only going to be made worse after they catch
the terrorist. We are gonna see his face and hear his name for months.
The media must resist the urge and rating$ game and not give this animal
any air time whatsoever. He must not be seen as a hero to our enemies
or his own kind of evil. But guess what's gonna happen as soon as they
have a name and a surveillance pic?

mpholland 04-15-2013 08:42 PM

Kind of reminds me of another song, "Vicarious", from the same album as my signature...

Eye on the TV
'cause tragedy thrills me
Whatever flavor it happens to be

Bigerik 04-15-2013 10:05 PM

ANy bets on whether this is home grown?

I hope the bastards pay heavily for this.

bobabode 04-15-2013 10:12 PM

Too soon to speculate. Three dead and over one hundred injured.:( Tragic.

My heart and thoughts go out to the dead and their families and the injured.

I understand what you're sayin' Jack. But still, the people are going to want to know who this sumbitch is. (...these sumbitches are?) It's just human nature.

I'm waiting to see what the crazed explanation for this lunacy is. That's always a real treat. (Sarcasm)

I've already seen some far out theories from whacko friends and family, but it's too early to know.

The winner of today's prize for logical fallacies is the one and only Wasillaguy. This prestigious award follows from the WG's insistent use of the false equivalency.

If you're not sure how you qualified for this honor, in the words of the immortal Casey Stengel, "You can look it up."

Regards,

D-Ray

Pure speculation, but that's what I'm wondering at the moment. I would think any Islamist extremists, etc., would have taken credit at this point, if they were behind it. The FBI searched the apartment of a Saudi man in Boston, but that doesn't necessarily mean sh*t, plus they didn't even need a warrant apparently, the guy let them in.

merrylander 04-16-2013 08:52 AM

There may well be fingerprints on or in the one they got that did not explode. Was the third death the young man who had a leg blown off?

Sure we want to know so we can hate on them and all but do the Adam
Lanza's and/ or Muhammod Atta's out there really need any more motivation
or? Should the media profit from this tragedy by putting evil on the stage?

I guess it could be a Lone Wolf Homegrown but it reeks of jihad. More their
style . Terrorist regardless.

BlueStreak 04-16-2013 10:00 AM

Traditionally, Islamist terrorists will claim "credit" for their deeds within hours of the act. So far, nothing.

The media reports what sells and, of course they try to turn a profit from it.

After all, they are a business. And, the point of any business is to make money..........................

(Gee, where have I heard THAT before?)

And this is totally intuition, or maybe I am wrong or just full of shit (or both!), but it doesn't feel like an Al-Qaeda, etc. operation. My guess is home grown, far right whackos. More of an Oklahoma City, rather than 9/11, feel to it.

icenine 04-16-2013 10:14 AM

April 15th tax day.
My gut feeling is a single person.

Zeke 04-16-2013 10:35 AM

I have no idea who committed terrorism in Boston but if we overreact and swat a fly with a Buick like we did post 9/11, they will have achieved their goals.

Speaking of profit, I wonder if Fox and the GOP are going to try again to get one over on the American public by trying to fault our President for something/anything. Again.

Worked great against Bush, why not?:p

Normally American terrorists don't target innocent civilians although Rudolph
did in Atlanta? Madmen are Madmen so there's just no reasoning behind it.

That was my thought. We truly did give them exactly what they were after; To throw us into economic disarray and divide us.

Someone was on NPR talking about that very thing this morning........and how we need to get over it. We can't just go around launching massive military adventures everytime this happens, or eventually, we ruin ourselves economically. If anything, the next real terror attack will prove the ineffectiveness of it.

My nephew made an interesting point last night; "They kill three thousand of ours, then we blow trillions of dollars, go broke and end up with thousands more dead and tens of thousands more wounded. They get all of that for the cost of a box of razor blades and a few airline tickets."

Not quite accurate, but he does have something of a point.

Like Mr McVeigh backing his truck bomb up to the child care section of that federal building and letting her rip?

Weather Underground preferred government folks, they thought them to be very deserving.

My bad, you're right, no equivalence between the two. I was thinking Obama and the rest of the administration would be throwing some bogus story out today about the motivations of the attackers, but apparently not, so not really the same at all.

And, Tim McVeigh and his buddies thought a bunch of preschoolers were simply collateral damage in their fight to "protect America" from the Federal Government.

Is that how YOU see it?

Was Tim McVeigh a "True Patriot"?

Dave

piece-itpete 04-16-2013 11:40 AM

''I don't regret setting bombs,'' Bill Ayers said. ''I feel we didn't do enough.''

Uh, no Dave, that's not how I see it. I'm starting to understand how you see me though.

Tim McVeigh and his ilk were the same thing as the WU- misguided extremists. They're just from the opposite polarity.
