McConnell says his office was bugged.

Sen. Mitch McConnell alleges that his office was bugged. It couldn't have been that one his own had a typical digital voice recorder in his pocket for recording meetings. Oh no. It must have been liberals, umm, progressives, negros, whatever.

Boo-hoo turtle boy. The assholes in Washington have been bugging our homes since 2001.

Think as though other people can hear your thoughts.
-- Stephen Covey

Follow that advice GOP and it won't matter if you are bugged. The only reason Mitch is angry is because he was being catty and now is trying to bury his turd in the litterbox.

I think the most likely scenario is that someone on McConnell's staff is sick of him and screwed him.

bobabode 04-09-2013 12:33 PM

Next thing they'll do is to hold their strategy sessions in a bunker, in the buff. Video to be leaked.....;)

The pertinent question is, where's the bug? One would think that these days, who doesn't have security protocals in place to avoid leaks? Sounds to me like they have a bunch of amateur pikers at McConnells campaign headquarters. Not to mention that now they want the FBI to do their job on the taxpayers dime? So much for the vaunted conservative ideal of standing on their own two feet...

ebacon 04-09-2013 02:55 PM

All a person needs is one of these in their pocket. They are common tools for dictation in the legal world.

Ebacon, I record meetings with my iPhone. I imagine most smart phones have that capability.

BlueStreak 04-09-2013 03:35 PM

The only bugs I see exist between the turtles ears.

The only bug in McTurtles office is up his ass. Why would you need to bug his office? He says enough stupid crap, in public, to keep everybody happy for days on end.

Do you really expect me to believe those offices are not swept everyday for 'bugs'. More than likely it was an intern pissed off because he has to put fresh lettuce and water in McTurtles bowls two times a day.

bobabode 04-10-2013 12:35 AM

Maybe he's afraid of these bugs. They bear a striking resemblance to the senator from Kentucky.

Well no chit... Progress Kentucky Behind Mitch McConnell Campaign Recording

Jacob Conway, who is on the executive committee of the Jefferson County Democratic Party, says that day, Shawn Reilly and Curtis Morrison, who founded and volunteered for Progress Kentucky, respectively, bragged to him about how they recorded the meeting.

So, how do I nominate these Great American Patriots for the Medal of Freedom?

See, this is the Democratic Parties weakness. They run from stuff like this and make apologies, when they should be doing what the GOP does----Say nothing. Let the sycophants in the press push it for all it's worth, then say; "We didn't tell them to do that, they acted on their own. If people want to believe it, oh well. We can't tell people what to believe.";)

"Kentucky law says it is a felony “to overhear, record amplify or transmit any part of a wire or oral communication of others without the consent of at least one party thereto by means of any electric, mechanical or other device."
But if the conversation was audible from a hallway, it's disputable whether recording qualifies as eavesdropping."

I told you the Turtledawg was an idjit...:D

Do you only read headlines?

bobabode 05-31-2013 02:53 PM

From the Salon link in this pile o'steaming crap from the Weekly standard.

"On the other line was the source who first let me know about the HQ opening. He told me I had missed the launch, pronouncing the donuts cheap and stale and the coffee cold, but the meeting was still going. And he told me the location of the headquarters: the second floor of a building named Watterson Towers.
We headed over.
The front door to the office building was unlocked, and there was no one behind the reception desk. Walking down the hall of the second floor, I recognized McConnell’s voice. He was talking about Sen. Rand Paul’s strategic use of the Tea Party in procuring his 2010 election.
The voices were coming from the other side of a nearby door, which had a window. I pulled out my Flip camera and started to record." Salon

You need to read more than just an opinion headline and subsequent bullcrap interpretation of events shoveled your way from your favorite wingnut publication, JB. Nothing has changed in how this guy recorded that conversation other than the full weight of Turtle McConnell's office has been brought to bear on this poor guy who was doing what he saw as right. McConnell is probably going to retain his seat through dirty dog tactics such as the smear campaign he utilized against Judd. What's really sad is that so many people on the right have no compunction at all about using lies and innuendo to achieve their aims. One day Kentuckians will see through this slimey bastard's ways and toss him out on his ear. That is if the teabaggers don't primary him first.

It's amazing that anyone can understand what the mushmouth turtle says anyway.

What does it mean to "primary"? I just started hearing it about a week ago. I think I heard Jon Stewart talk about "primarying" becoming a verb and I didn't get it.

Yes, I am serious. I'm not a pro at campaign strategy.

How is losing in the primary elections a GOP strategy? I'm still confused.

It's how the tea party has been getting rid of old style repubs in congress. They organize the faithful during the primaries to vote out who they see as RINOs before the main election.

Yep. This is what our rightwingers are talking about when they threaten to "Primary" someone. They hold meetings and rallies, pump up their stooges, then send them to the voting booths with a list.

Oh, excuse me.........."Urge their true patriot members to vote responsibly.".

My bad.

Hey as long as they keep putting "legitamate rape" yahoos in front of the voters don't knock it.
