Racial division?
So, how is it that the President Obama is "promoting racial division"?
I'd really like to know because the notion seems ridiculous to me. However, I have heard this spouted by Republican hacks on manifold occasions and just finished reading an article about Rep. Mia Love (R) Utah, who seems to have made this notion a key element in her rebuke of him. To me, it appears that his mere presence in the Oval Office has done more to racially divide this country than anything he personally has said or done. And, that wouldn't be due to any action on his part. Rather, it would be the reaction to him, on the part of his opponents......in my humble opinion. As an aside; I'd think just a quick look around at the faces present during the respective conventions is a good indicator of just which party favors a particular race......Just sayin'.:p Regards, Dave |

Because Repugnican'ts think his proper place is hiding in the woodpile and not in the Oval Office. Easy, peasy.

If you ever listen to black radio the answer becomes self-apparent.

Also, do you listen to black radio or just to clips reproduced by some right wing website? John |
I get a brain-direct feed from Brietbart.
;) I don't do the rightwing sites or TV, outside of Chris Wallaces' Sunday interviews & panel discussions occasionally. I often listen to Michael Baisden on the way home from work. Interesting subjects, great DJ voice, lots of classic R&B/funk etc. Tired of being called a racist though. Pete |
Pete, what is said on "black radio" that establishes that Obama is responsible for racial division?

I see I'm the only guy here who listens to it ;)
He is one of the kings of black talk radio and very plugged in politically. Of course he's coordinating with Obama... but wait, I'm making too many assumptions. Who says black folks vote Democrat? Pete |

Soooo.. racist is OK east of the Mississippi ;)
Very deep south really, with the great migration cities tossed in. 18 of the top 20 black states by [oops - percentage] are east of the river. Pete |

This is interesting. A little number crunching using:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...can_population and the US census total black population of 42,020,000 in 2010, 70% of all black folks in the US live east of the mighty mississip. I never would've guessed that though I guess historicly it makes sense. No wonder I like funk and r&b :D Pete |

Btw I understand. Does anyone out west listen to black talk radio? I'd be curious to see the similarities in talking points.
Pete |
I don't listen to talk radio at all.
Regards, Dave |
It's more like an old radio 'show', they talk, play songs, tell jokes, have a 'battle of the sexes' - name that tune, etc. It's a pretty good show. All the white 'shows' are all talk now, even the formerly great WMMS. Besides, and this is my experience in production too, the white boys are whiny-er in general :)
The more I think of the racial breakdown the more interesting it seems. I don't know if it matters though. Pete |

Oh, I've listened to "black radio" stations. One of the local black colleges, (They call them "historically black" now.), has an outstanding late night classic jazz program.
But, straight-up talk radio is the domain of redfaced white guys who think the whole world owes them an easy, unrestricted path to incredible wealth.....In other words, right-wing radio. Regards, Dave |
Talk radio, talking heads, all the same to me :) I'd rather listen to tunes.

I'm trying to understand - and I don't listen to much radio other than NPR and an occasional ballgame - can't stand commercials. (When I want music in the car, i do my own programming) Is it your position, Pete, that black radio promotes racial division and Obama coordinates with black radio about what is said?

LOL!
My count east was 29,441,000 (not including Arkansas and Loiusiana), with a total of 42,020,000, 29411 divided by 42020 = .7006435516 And yes. Both mainly black stations here, including the ref'd host, pound repeatedly on the right being racist to the point I don't often listen now. To think they don't coordinate with the Dem party leader is naive IMO. Pete |

You know, Republican. John |

Wide open there :D Pete |
