"As a combat veteran of two tours in Vietnam with twenty-two years of service as a Republican member of the U.S. House and Senate, I endorse President Barack Obama for a second term as our Commander-in-Chief. Candidates publicly praise our service members, veterans and their families, but President Obama supports them in word and deed, anywhere and every time.

As a Vietnam vet, one of the reasons I support President Obama is because he has consistently shown he understands that our commitment to our servicemen and women may begin when they put on their uniform, but that it must never end.

This decision is not easy for any lifelong Republican. In 2008 I voted for Barack Obama, the first time I ever voted for a Democrat, because the Republican Party was drifting toward a dangerous path that put extreme party ideology above national interest. Mitt Romney heads a party remaining on that dangerous path, proving the emptiness of their praise as they abandon our service members, veterans and military families along the way.

What really set me off was Romney's reference to 47% of Americans to be written off -- including any veteran collecting disability like myself, as a post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) veteran."

That is a real & fair estimation of the real Mitt Romney and what his plan is. Not only for veterans but the rest of the country.

I care for Romney almost as much as I care for Obama. I think they are both assholes. I am still one of the undecided.

That should be on of the litmus tests for any voter voting this election, Ice. The 47% comment and the death threats against Big Bird and Emo are a window into the thinking of these scumbags who have co opted the Republican Party. They do not respect the Constitution that you took an oath to defend. People need to heed Sam Jackson's advice.."Wake The Fu@k Up!" before it's too late.

So, Romney's lead in this poll is slightly less than McCain's was in '08? That should come as interesting news to President McCain.

Also, this is a subscriber poll which skews the sample toward a subset of a subset of people in the military.

Well Bob a veteran who has been disabled in Iraq and surviving on VA benefits and a medical military retirement check are under Romney's definition one of the 47 percent who are "dependent"...since most likely they do not earn enough to pay taxes. I am talking about men and women who has lost arms and legs, in some cases both. This is why the thought of Romney and Ryan dividing humans into "makers" and "takers" disgusts me.

When will these people with TBI learn to take responsibility for their own lives?
