Joel Osteen meets WWF.

It may be fun to get a wicked good buzz on and go to one of those. Kinda of a Fear and Loathing Among the Christian Right. Anyone know where I can find a 300# Samoan attorney and some ether?

just for this i gotta watch it...

budgetaudio6 06-25-2012 11:49 PM

That guy is in it for the money. Money can corrupt any one. Personally i have never given any credence to his shows. Mega chuches bring in loads of money. How much of it is brought to missionaries after the staff is paid? And the church is upgraded, against helping the poor? How much of it is used to upgrade the church before the poor is helped.?
The guy is in it to help him self.

Another example of you not having a basic understanding of the language or theology. Missionaries don't share in the collection plate. Why you don't have a dictionary at your disposal is beyond me. Here's a definition.

budgetaudio6 06-26-2012 12:46 AM

bob, surely you do not understand the mission of a missionary. other then what society has told you what it should be...not sure what it is to you.

But the mission of a missionary is one that talks of the grace of god to any and all people. irregardless of what they had done. For by grace are ye saved through faith, that not of your selves, lest any should boast. believe me you dont want to hear me boast of what good i have done. nor do i want to hear of any good you have done to earn eternity in heavan.

bobabode 06-26-2012 12:54 AM

Did you read the link?

budgetaudio6 06-26-2012 01:13 AM

budgetaudio6 06-26-2012 02:43 AM

budgetaudio6 06-26-2012 02:44 AM

quote from it that is of any meaning, mayhap i will click it?

bobabode 06-26-2012 04:21 AM

You aren't worth the keystrokes, it's just that simple.

piece-itpete 06-26-2012 07:47 AM

My church was always in the red, supporting missionary work and sponsoring immigrant families new to the US.

Fake preachers have a special place in hell no doubt.

Pete

budgetaudio6 07-07-2012 02:33 AM

a preacher who preaches on anything , other then the word of god is not worthy to be called even a talker of hte message....

bobabode 07-07-2012 02:44 AM

Keep on playin' with those eastern diamondbacks budgie. Sooner or later one of them will take a liking to ya.

Is there any other kind?

budgetaudio6 07-07-2012 03:11 PM

finnbow, there is jeremiah wright. the guy preaches hate. A fake if i ever saw one. And to top it off he was the presidents favorite preacher of truth. Any pastor that condemns the Jew and Isreal isnt worthy of his standing as a preacher.

Been there, done that. Haven't you paid attention to the responses to any of your posts. This has been shown to be misleading. Yet you keep trotting it out. Read further in the same publication you cited. The turds you're trying to throw are way off target.

Something to think about...

“All religions, arts and sciences are branches of the same tree. All these aspirations are directed toward ennobling man's life, lifting it from the sphere of mere physical existence and leading the individual towards freedom.”
-Albert Einstein-

Just call me Pollyanna.:D

I do agree Pollyanna. At least most started out that way.

To a large extent, religions still are that way. It's the institutions which have grown up around them that have changed.

In the Catholic Church it has typically been nuns and monks who have "kept the faith" because they're pretty much divorce from the hierarchic power centers of the Church. As a result, they've managed to avoid being seduced.

The "Nuns On the Bus" are a pretty good example of what I'm talking about from the current times. Hildegard of Bingen from ancient times and Thomas Merton from more recent times are as well.

The Nuns on the Bus Sister Simone Campbell is a local resident and a pretty impressive lady. But I doubt that Paul Ryan feels that way as she shot him full of holes. He claimed his budget was inspired by his faith and she told him it was anything but Christian.

There has been a lot of very impressive "peace and justice" work coming out of (but not from) the Archdiocese of Baltimore over the years. That's why I'm so dismayed by the current choice of Archbishops. Lori is determined to propel the Church headlong into the 15th century. A real trog.

That is exactly what Ratzinger and his merry men have in mind. By the time they are finished the Vatican will be meaningless.
