Hope he's up and about soon, Barb.

Thanks, Dave..........I hope so too. He has been at home the last few weeks with a pump that pumps medicine into him. Nurses coming and going.....tests and more tests and he isn't getting any better, but, he isn't getting any worse. I'm trying hard to be the glass-is-half-full kind of gal, but, I'm a bit discouraged lately.

Back last night from our trip to SW Virginia, Nashville, Chattanooga, Atlanta and Lake Gaston, NC. Had a great time.

Tonight it's roasted leg of lamb with roasted rosemary red potatoes; green beans with olive oil, garlic and lemon juice; a salad of spring greens with gorgonzola, walnuts, dried cranberries with a raspberry vinaigrette. All to be washed down with Chateau St. Jean California Cabernet.

At least he's home. But it sounds live a very difficult situation.

Best of wishes,

Chas

Sounds like quite a road trip.

Does it feel good to be home?

It was a great trip - kind of a bluegrass/country music pilgrimage (the first part, anyway). We went to the Rex Theater in Galax, VA; the Carter Family Fold near Bristol; and the Station Inn, Bluebird Cafe, Tootsie's Orchid Lounge, and the Opry in Nashville. We had only one really long day of driving, from Woodstock, GA to Lake Gaston, NC - almost 9 hours.

Being on the road for 9 days drags it out of you though. I felt like a zombie yesterday, but I'm slowly coming around.

You "owe":D us a thread about who you heard at the different venues and what you thought of them. (The venues and artists.)

Heck, I'll do it here. At Galax's Rex Theater, we saw Heather Berry and Tony Mabe. They were tremendous. Both played multiple instruments (guitar, banjo, autoharp, piano) and she sang like an angel. Most excellent.

At the Carter Fold, we saw Big Country Bluegrass. They were very good, with the guitar player and fiddler both having tremendous "high lonesome" Bluegrass voices. The venue is wonderful, stuck in a mountain valley miles from nowhere.

At the Station Inn, Tootsie's and the Bluebird in Nashville, we saw lots of musicians - many great, others not so much. No names stick with me.

At the Opry, the Steeldrivers stole the show. The two lead vocalists were tremendous, as was their take on Bluegrass.
