So I was just wondering what others here think about the situation in Sanford Fl. Well you know it has been over a month and George Z still has not been charged, In my opinion the man should be charged with manslaughter at the very least. It seem as if he (George Z) confronted this kid, then shot him, and walked away. seems like the gossip hungry media is feeding off these press releases from the police, the DA, Trevons parents, ETC. do you feel justice is treating him right? just curious.
BTW I am both a gun owner and white, neither of which have influenced my opinion. what a tragedy. I mean you can peel so many issues from this , was it motivated by race, did Fls generous concealed carry laws play into it? what about how the NRA has/will respond for that matter how will the NAACP respond going forward? I believe the Stand your Ground law leave's way to much gray area, and the law should be repealed.

Also white gun owner with a CCL who thinks the stand you ground laws need to be looked at for repeal. I think guns are to easily obtained by people who think of them as toys not the lethal devices that they are. See them at the range all the time.

Not from the eye-witness reports that are now making it into the news. There appears to be some suggestion that Martin attacked Zimmerman. Whether or not that attack was provoked or not is yet to be determined, but it could possibly that Zimmerman is alive today because he was armed.

Well my response to this would be that without the CCL BOTH men would be alive. As to the press, well you have unbiased journalists (right) on both sides of this issue squalking about this or that, is it pure speculation? or something else? maybe both speculation and fact, I don't know I was not there. But I stand by my opinion that at the very least George Z should in fact stand trial for manslaughter. and the stand your ground law is deeply flawed.

Well son...it sells papers and gets ratings. Headlines that imply black racism/white guilt always do. :(

Some people assume race had something to do with it. Others assume race had nothing to do with it. I assume that people who weren't there really don't know anything and those who were there are probably lying to protect someone.

That's exactly what I thought. Please go to the thread in the Off Topic section if you want everyones thoughts or opinions up to this point. There's about fifteen pages of posts there on the matter.

Pure speculation as one or both could have been armed CCL or not.
