Is Acorn finished?

I'm working nights lately and will be late tonight as I have to watch Beck. He has an exclusive on the most recent Acorn tape, which he says beats them all hands down. In his words; "It'll make the skin peal off your face".:p I hear that so far, they have been booted off the census project, and have had some major government financing repealed. Last night FOX had a tally of all the networks and how many times they had reported on Acorn. It showed how the so called main stream media is biased. I would agree that FOX is too, and leans way right, but at least they do report on everything (comparatively speaking). So what happens now, does Acorn evaporate and re-emerge under a new name?

BTW, I changed the sig.

Fast_Eddie 09-15-2009 03:20 PM

They're a mess to be sure. I don't know what incident you're talking about, but the hooker video probably was the last fork in that potato.

Thanks for changing your sig. As a happy, hard working liberal I enjoy it.

Charles 09-15-2009 05:11 PM

Saw where the Senate voted 83-7 to cut off funding to Acorn, it I got it right. I was actually shocked at the tally.

But are they gone?

One word...Hell no!

Fox is like a group of 13 year old girls getting excited over nothing.

Both Fox and Acorns actions are repulsive.

You may want to do some reading up on them. Scum is the first thing that comes to mind.

Even the Nazi's did "a lot of good", at least at the start.

ACORN has committed enough concerted illegal actions that they could be charged under the RICO Act. And I'm not just saying this because I don't like them. I don't like anyone or any organization that commits voter fraud, intimidation, etc...especially when they are being funded by taxpayer's dollars.

While I hate liberal criminals, I despise conservative criminals. Their actions discredit my viewpoints, and I take this as a personal offense.

But I gotta go. Have to drag my knuckles into the other room and watch "O'Reilly".

Why not?

Have you ever watched O'Reilly? He can be a blowhard, 80% of the time his show disgusts even me, but he does have a history of addressing issues that are ignored by the rest of the American MSM.

He interviewed Obama, who was smart to interject himself into this venue. And O'Reilly was amazing even handed in his treatment to Obama, which really pissed off the Far Right Wing. Actually, the FRW hates his guts. O'Reilly says a lot of good thing about Obama.

I remember years ago Bill interviewed Larry Klayman, AKA Judicial Watch. Klayman was really ambushing the Clinton Administration at the time, and Bill had just gone through two IRS audits because of his critique of the Clintons.

And do you know what happened? Contrary to the popular belief that O'Reilly is a FRW shill, Bill raked Klayman's ass over the coals.

In closing, do not dismiss opposing viewpoints out of hand. Distance yourself from your preconceived notions. To tell the truth, I think that O'Reilly is probably more aligned with your core beliefs than I am. He is from New York.

And one more thing...Karl Rove ain't Bezelebub by a long shot. I admire his opinion, much like Pat Caddell's.

Chas

BTW, Noon...what yew NY Yankees use fer speakers?

Sorry I can't stand the arrogant know it all attitude that he has. My dislike of O'Reilly is more about this and less about agenda.
Beck and Hannity I dislike for closed minded, yesteryear, non cerebral hate.

Rove is a dirty little round man. He and James CarvilleI think are more responsible for politicians just plain lying to the masses than any others.
This "just look straight into the camera and lie" philosophy has been more damaging to our country than the Viet Nam war.

Same reason I don't watch Olberman any more. Tired of being a puppet. Tired of having my emotions manipulated for someone elses political agenda. I'll decide what I care about all on my own. And I'm trying not to get angry about it all the time.

O'Riley is an ass and a poor example of how to live a positive life. Reason enough for me.

I totally agree about Olberman and the lesbian girl. It's ashame because both are bright articulate folks. MSNBC I think is making a big mistake in entering the Fox loony tunes news category.

I tried that meal once. Too much shit, not enough corn.

merrylander 09-17-2009 07:47 AM

The reason I don't listen to any of them is very simple. The good Lord put this wet stuff between my ears and I assume he expected me to use it, so I do. I don't need to have my opinions formed by a self confessed prescription drug abuser like Limbaugh, or a pompous ass like Dobbs, or any of the rest, most of whom could not think their way out of a wet paper bag.

Charles 09-17-2009 08:19 PM

To tell the truth folks, the only reason I say I have to go watch Beck or O'reilly is to watch Noon pop his cork.

It's like waving a red flag in front of a bull...he comes charging out, just can't help himself.

Reading some more details of this scam they ran on Acorn you have to wonder if the people there were not just taking the mickey out of that pair. Let's face it, this guy and girl walk in the door and claim to be a pimp and his girl who wan't to get a mortgage so they can open a cathouse. They say that they plan on employing 13 year olds, patently illegal. As it turns out the girl's fater is some religious type from Florida who runs the Clash Church. The quote they gave of his comments sounds like he has a pretty slim grip on reality. Not to excuse Acorn from some of their past omissions of keeping a close eye on things, but this really smells.

100% of sting operations smell.

Look at the poor Dolts being tried as terrorists in NY now.
We need to spend our time and money on real crime not tricking people into crossing lines that they would be near in the first place.

My understanding was the film maker and actress used their own money for this venture. I dunno, something about corruption getting sniffed out and dealt with just makes me smile.:D

The film maker and actress are Dolts. I hope what really happened comes out.
The Acorn works must have figured they were out of their minds.
If you were confronted by two "mental cases" would not you just go along with them in fascination? I know that is what I have done.

Did you see how these dolts dressed? They clearly had no clue how ridiculous they looked and I guarantee no one took them seriously.

In that case then we should hammer the hell out of every corner of the Bush Administration. I am smiling again, now that the World Court has Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld, once again in their sights.

Twodogs 09-19-2009 11:01 AM

After the founder's own brother took off with their funds they are pretty near bankrupt in anycase.

Twodogs 09-20-2009 10:04 AM

Are those two of the creepiest looking guys you ever seen or what? Beck is on their asses too.

BTW, Big Bad Bertha (acorn ceo) is doing an exclusive interview with FOX today. Seems they have changed their "we're gonna sue everyone" attitude to thanking the filmmakers for pointing out these bad employees. What a joke.:p

It would be interesting to view a LISTof the organizations involved in ACORN as a whole. Indeed ;)

Beck made the cover of Time, you want creepy go and buy a copy. The man looks totally certifiable.

I don't know what planet Ms. Mossberg lives on but most of those loans have been on local TV for ever so long. The Senator theatre is a landmark and is now the property of the city AFAIK. They want it as a linchpin for development in that section of the city. But then she is in Washington and we all know how Washingtonians feel about Charm City. Methinks she would have plenty to report on right in her own back yard, the DC city council is no paragon of virtue.
