Right wing nut cases
So now we have two men of the cloth* leading thier congregations in prayer for the President's death. No doubt in hope that some other nutter with a gun will try.
*The only cloth these two should be wearing are long white robes with hoods. How can anyone profess to be a Christian and pray for the death of another human being? |
The only thing more alienating then politics is religion. Not a fan of either but religion is some messed up shit for some people.

I may not agree with the President on a growing number of issues, but I sure wouldn't wish him ill health, never mind dead.
WTF is wrong with people these days?? |

A man (I won't call him reverend) named Alexander in Tempe Arizona was the first on followed by another one in California. It was in Eugene Robinson's column in today's WashPost.
Downtown DC is a good place to avoid today as the rest of the lot are gathering. |
Well, to be sure, I hope no one does anything crazy because of these nut jobs. I heard about the guy in Tempe a couple of weeks ago. My hope is that these continued cases of extreme behavior cause people to continue to move slightly left. I really think that the actions of Bush and Cheney did that for many people and resulted in the Democratic victories. As usual, the Democrats, unable to miraculously fix every situation America faces in six months time, have lost some support. Perhaps these two along with that Wilson character will keep things moving left.
Take care, Ed |

I must disagree. Besides, what you are witnessing is hardly "the rest of the lot". I would be surprised if it's over 1%. Concerning the origional thread, I suppose I never was "religious" enough to advocate murdering people with whom I simply disagreed. Chas |
I saw some footage of DC yesterday, and wow, I can't believe they didn't have the National Guard out there hosing down that un-ruley mob of trouble makers. Most of the ones I saw were obviously hardened criminals, and I know you all won't believe this, but some of them had signs disagreeing with more deficit spending. I think at the very least, some rubber bullets would have been merited.:p

You're right 2dogs! What a shameful expression of patriotism! AND just think...there were Democrats, Republicans and Independents, young and old alike. Shouting ocscene slogans...like...NO MORE TAXES!..NO MORE BAILOUTS! AND carrying flags and signs! YOU WORK FOR US! WE NEED JOBS! NO ACORN! CLEAR OUT CORRUPTION! Why if we're not careful...this might spread. Hope children were not watching. ;) |
Ahhh, they shoulda mowed 'em down in the street like the Mad Dogs they are...Imagine the nerve & the temerity of ANYONE saying naughty things bout our exalted government...It's THEIR money, THEY know better than us dum peasants & peons on how to spend it...Death to the ingrates 'n' infidels !!

Irony- not so long ago, if you disagreed with the leaders, they actually DID accuse you of being un-American. Now that they don't everyone is crying that they do. Now that's rhetoric. Take care, Ed |
Funny thing how there are NEVER any "Left-Wing Nut Cases"...I guess the Left have a monopoly on what's Good, Right (Excuse the pun..) 'n' Fair ?!? The Left NEVER lies, makes Enemies Lists like that cur Nixon did-and Shrub prolly did, too...or destroys property & kills people ? Only those on the right do those sorts of things, don't they ?

All joking aside, I actually had goose-flesh yesterday while watching these people. And Sandy is right, there were Democrats, Republicans, Libertarians, Blacks, Whites, Asians, Hispanics, you name it. Out of all the signs I saw, and it must have been over 100, there was only one that was what I'd call rude. Some college age looking guy had a small sign that said Obama sucks. Of all the interviews I watched Griff Jenkins do, they all had basically the same message; "We want our freedoms, stop spending like a drunken sailor on shore leave, and keep the government out of the health insurance business. I was literally beaming with pride when I saw all the older folks there, and almost cried when an old Marine was interviewed. He said that he had fought for this country's freedom before, and he was proud to be able to do it again. I think all these libs that are just laughing this off, and calling the people of this movement foul and disrespectful names, would do good to re-think their stance. Glenn Beck may get overly theatrical at times, but he's no joke. Ask Van Jones if he thinks he's just a clown? The American People are banding together like they haven't since 9-12 after the towers fell. I just can't wait until the 2010 elections.:)

It appears to me that most of the folks who attend these rallies are constitutionalists, although I'm sure that it will be argued that they know nothing more about the constitution than they do about the theory of relativity.
And let's not forget, that constitutionalists were painted as terrorists in a DHS memo earlier in they year...although it has been indicated that many of the points on this memo were taken from the SPLC. Now let me get this straight in my mind...if you believe in the Constitution of the United States...you're a terrorist? And if you disagree with the way our government is being managed, you're a nut job? And a lackey of Faux News and the VRWC? In my not so humble opinion, anyone who believes this is a damn fool. There. I said it, and I mean it. And I've got it right. Chas |
Most of the trouble right now is strictly the result of bigotry.
http://www.nytimes.com/2009/09/13/op...dowd.html?_r=1 It has been simmering since the election and now it's boiling over. The more crap that folks can throw out there to dis-credit him (almost entirely false), the less Presidential he will appear, apparently. Joe Wilson's outburst was calculated, trying to get a reaction in addition to distracting from the President's speech on healthcare. Now Wilson has a campaign video to raise money for his pending campaign based on his outburst. |

How 'bout my good Colorado buddy Ward Churchill? Nah, it's not that there aren't any. It's just that they are so outnumbered by right-wing nut jobs they pale in comparison. lol |

And as far as Ms Dowd attempting to put words in Mr. Wilsons mouth "You lie, boy", she simply reveals herself as the race baiter. Chas |
I do think Wilson's outburst was calculated. But I think it failed to achieve it's mission. And the man is an ass.
|
"Liar, liar, Pants on fire..." Well, SOMEBODY had to say it...Fess up, now, all y'all were THINKIN' about it...(grin)
|
Well let's see; under all the proposals so far you will only get a subsidy from the government based upon what your tax forms say - how many illegals file tax forms? Some illegals file tax forms but rather than an SSN they use a special number provided by the IRS, so it is known that they are illegals. Nothing in the plans stops an illegal from buying health insurance, but how many could possibly afford it?
Wilson is simply following a long line of SC pols, all down through history they have been involved in some rather rowdy congressional behaviour. |

As far as looking "less presidential" I don't think he needs any help. He takes care of that all by himself. Of course I would have to give some credit to the two morons seated behind him in that speach.:D So, what's all the "entirely false" stuff that's being thrown out there about poor ol' Barry? |

Speakin' of outbursts, I bet Obie got a kick outta this one. And folks wonder why I live in a white county .. with my own kind. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2yOOPHe3QHU |
Ah you need to be more broad minded, I live in one of the few Republican districts in Maryland but I don't hold it against them.:D
|
Joe Wilson's apology was hollow based on his current defiant tone...I know what his views are and they are not mine.

Interesting thread to return to.
I thought that I had read thet Mr Wilsons' Democratic opponent had raised over 820K since the "Outburst", exceeding Wilsons' 750K. And if my history serves me right South Carilina has always been on the forefront of "Southern" interests. First with certain understandings as to what "All Men" meant as far as being created equal in the Declaration. Secondly, I think they were the driving force behind the 3/5 ruling for slaves in the constitution, when determining representation, yes? When I was married in SC in 1976, they still would not perform inter-racial marriages. And surely, Merry you know that the Canal Zone was a US Territory when McCain was born:rolleyes: |
Spas I guess you missed the  at the end. It would not have mattered since his mother was a US citizen so he would also be one regardless of where he was born, as was the case with Obama. I was just making fun of TD's sig.:D
|
I guess I should change that sig. I just thought it was funny.
Oh crap, I'm missing Beck, see ya later taters. |

Well, I was fixin' to get into a sluggin' match with you libs, but...
O'Reilly's getting ready to query Karl Rove on Obama's address to the Congress last week. I would suggest that ya'll should watch too, but it's best if you have no idea as to what the opposition is up to. Chas |
An' just WHAT'S wrong w/"The Savage Nation" ?!? Dr. Weiner has got it goin' on...Kinda like Stacy's Mom....(grin)

I catch Savage nearly every night on the radio.;)
