...and here's your moment of zen!

Any John Stewart fans here?
The latest observation on Mittens and the "Super Pacman!" was so dead right on! Newt and company are already clamoring for campaign reform! "It's just not fair!!!!" they cry. What in the world did they expect?
Mittens is THE poster child of the Raygun and Nixon doctrine. Let's fire all the unions and proclaim, "Corporations are people, too!"

This falls under the old chestnut of 'Be careful what you wish for'.

Yessir!!!! Stewart and Colbert! Catch them every day!

Dave

Yeah, I am familiar with that doctrine;

Encourage corporations and state governments to cut costs by laying off as many people as possible, then use the leverage gained from the resulting unemployment to hold wages down.............Then wonder why you can't sell any $250,000 homes while constantly bitching about unemployment benefit costs....................

Pure genius.

I record the Daily Show and Colbert Report and watch them the following day. I never miss them. Colbert is a comic genius.

I'm here in the OC (the intellectual wasteland of the universe) Birchers to the left of me and god knows what's to the right of me. Kind of like living through the worst parts of 'Lord of the Flies.' So it's about the only source of sensible content left to me.
I used to be cynical but watching Newt moan about the super PACs has taken the cynicism to new level. Hearing him dish out his offer to go to the NAACP to lecture on the subject of work ethics was truly beyond belief.

Just wait till the Supremes get finished interpeting sip a poopa, they'll have outlawed dissent entirely. Debtors prisons will be the next growth industry start up.

This is how my family got here from Ireland. Maybe we'll be able to move to a better place again because of them.....

The Bank of England still has a negative account they're looking settle up on. They started dunning me for unearned pay my Hessian ancestors incurred when, I quote, "moste traitorously and vicsiously failed to defend the the Kings interests in ye olde colonies in the new world, interest is compounding dailye!" They've already arranged for anchorage rights in Baltimore Harbor, the QE2 is due any day now.

:DToo bad the Canadien government is building an electric fence on their southern border.
Icehole ingrates, after all that we've done for them. Without us they wouldn't have a Northwest Passage.

In the OC? I'm unfamiliar with the meaning of this.

Please enlighten me.

Orange County, California? Or is it Oklahoma City? Must be Oklahoma City if it's that wing-nutty.

An ex-Yippie would live in OKC?

Only if they dragged him there by his heels.

Must be Orange County?

Chas

Dave

Rex E. 01-19-2012 06:32 PM

He's in Orange County Cali. A place I'd love to live if the other people and the states politics and taxes would go away ;)

BlueStreak 01-19-2012 06:37 PM

There are "Birchers" in Orange County?

Hi Chas, A few years ago there was a TV show by that name. Completely forgettable in my opinion. Orange co., California. A very right wing bastion.
Nixon was born here and his Western White House was here, the Nixon Presidential library is here. John Wayne lived here in Newport Beach.
B1 Bob Dornan was from here. Campbell, Dannemeyer.

Nobody in Ocean City this time of year. Helluva town in summer though. I did live in Md. for a dozen or so years but came home in 1980. California native, here.

A bastion of conservatism. I love Newport Beach and Balboa Island. Currently OC is filled up with yuppies and lots of tech businesses. It reminds me of what San Diego looked like twenty years ago. OC still has nice smooth roads. I've been on superior roads in TJ than what we have here in SD. In fact, if I could work from OC, I'd probably move to Laguna Niguel or another small beach city.

I see. Haven't been back to San Diego in 25 years. As I recall, it had some rough spots back then.......Like the apartments I lived in.....Buena Vista Gardens. GAW! The stories I could tell about that place.

Used to work with a tech company in Orange County and hell yes, the only thing that protects Democrats there are the game laws.
