Been leery about logging on to AK, anybody have any problems? My virus detection caught and removed a Trojan Swift yesterday and my PC at home has been acting up.

Just signed out of AK, and no problems. . . . Yet.

I saw a few people talking about it yesterday. Be careful.

I've had no problems with AK on two different computers.

Me too neither.

(Maybe this belongs in the "Slang" thread?)

Man, I hope not. I've been all over AK like a bad rash, the last few days. Working on a tube project, and seeking info/advice.

Finally had some success today. It's got my spirits up. Making something old and/or broken work again always does. Guess that's why I do what I do?

Was on AK just a bit ago, now getting a Database error when I try to get back on.

EDIT: Seems to be back now.

I was getting the data base error also. I could go to the home page but that was it. It seems fine now.

anyone still haveing problems over there?

My anti virus just got me out of there as I was reading.

Twodogs 01-01-2012 10:43 AM

I've been on everyday since I joined, and have had no problems at all of late. I heard about some stuff, but scanned and all that jazz and I'm good. FWIW I'm running Chrome with Avast AV.

What AV are you running noon?

Bigerik 01-02-2012 10:12 AM

i haven't seen anything, and it's not like I don't spend a lot of time there. I'm on a Mac tho.

Arkay 06-04-2012 09:41 AM

My computer just started showing one or two little tweaky things. I've been using "FluxSpot", which has one of the newest and most sophisticated cloud-based anti-malware screens, on top of several good firewall, anti-virus and malware programs. For the first time in weeks of use, the FluxSpot program seemed to freeze up, and I couldn't connect to the net or do most things --my computer obviously had some issues-- until I forced it down and re-started it, and I've had a twinge or two of abnormal behavior since. I'm running scans and such, just in case, but so far haven't found anything.

VERY glad I thought to check here, as the inability to access AK was one of those "twinges" that had me worried. Nice to know that's not my computer, although I also hope it is nothing serious for AK. I sure would hate for anything to happen that would threaten the integrity of that archive/knowledge base. Hope it's all safely backed up, and whatever the problem is, that the guys can get it all sorted out!

It's neat that there is still this site, and that enough AKers know/think to check over here, so that discussions can continue in the meantime.
