Sen. Debbie Stabenow, Energy Leader (National Review, 08.10.09)

Detroit, Mich. - Michigan just experienced its coldest July on record; global temperatures haven't risen in more than a decade; Great Lakes water levels have resumed their 30-year cyclical rise (contrary to a decade of media scare stories that they were drying up due to global warming), and polls show that climate change doesn't even make a list of Michigan voters' top-ten concerns.

Yet in an interview with the Detroit News Monday, Senator Debbie Stabenow (D., Mich.) - recently appointed to the Senate Energy Committee - made clear that fighting the climate crisis is her top priority.

"Climate change is very real," she confessed as she embraced cap and trade's massive tax increase on Michigan industry - at the same time claiming, against all the evidence, that it would not lead to an increase in manufacturing costs or energy prices. "Global warming creates volatility. I feel it when I'm flying. The storms are more volatile. We are paying the price in more hurricanes and tornadoes."

And there are sea monsters in Lake Michigan. I can feel them when I'm boating.

This is a good example of just how insane these people are. The average earth temp has dropped .72 degrees since Al invented global warming. And the Dems accuse Republicans of using scare tactics when they read from bills. I think there's some light though, it appears the American people are starting to awaken. I had heard some predictions during the last campaign that basically said an Obama victory would be the best thing to happen for the Republican party since Regan.;)

That ain't nothin'...I heard of some wahoo running for office down in the Ducktown Basin of SE Tennessee who accused his opponent of being a "Practising Homo Sapiens". Stabenow's pretty bad, but Georgia has Cynthia McKinney, she's currently out of office, but she would be in contention for Top Barking Moonbat on about anyone's list...

Never been labeled an alien racist..thanks!

As for the mentally challenged lady, I'm with Charles in thinking there's nothing there but agenda driven drivel.

Someone should tell her that's not volatility she's feeling, she just joined the mile high club without being told.

I just think it's amazing that she can fly!:D She must save her constituents thousands a year in private jet spending alone. I just wish the other politicians would learn to fly too.:)

Now now. I do believe that there are many things amiss with our environment that we need to take care of sooner then later. Or we will all be very sorry..

Strange that they can't ,most of them seem like they came from outer space.

I must agree, the environment is a concern.

Personally, I think that the technology necessary to lower mankind's footprint will come of age in due time, probably sooner than later. I only hope that the politicians don't bankrupt us all by forcing the issue.

Besides, it appears to me that their concerns are more about making money and placing more controls on the population than protecting the environment.

And the elephant in the room is overpopulation. But this is a problem which tends to address itself from time to time.

Chas
