Find out where you stand :)

http://replay.waybackmachine.org/200...z.org/quiz.htm

I got 14 (Almost neutral between Liberal and Conversative)

I used to think I WAS 100% LIB but when Obama got in office and i found myself hating what he was doing,i had to question my side!! (Could explain the 14 i guess)

whell 04-09-2011 11:07 PM

33. Wow, didn't see that coming. ;)

BlueStreak 04-09-2011 11:52 PM

16. No surprise there.

Dave

Oh boy, a nice 34 here.

That's right about where I thought I'd be.

merrylander 04-10-2011 08:03 AM

Ha, nine! But nicely loaded questions, to many places where "neither" was left out. However having written a few polls in my time it did not surprise me. This nation is politically black or white, grey is non-existent.

+1. I started this little quiz and found it too imbecilic to complete. Accordingly, I'll choose to remain an enigma.

David Newman 04-10-2011 08:31 AM

Far too black and white to be meaningful, but I completed it anyway. I'm Colin Powell and there isn't a more respectable person on that list, IMO. :)

i scored a more cerebral 14 :p

d-ray657 04-10-2011 11:34 AM

I agree that it was poorly drafted. It contained some ridiculous choices; it made unsupported assumptions in its questions; it used some code words designed to highlight viewpoint; and it gave no room for depth of thought. Nevertheless, would anyone be surprised that I came out somewhere between Teddy and Hillary?

Noone, if I had to guess, one difference between your score and my score would have had to do with banning misleading political ads and regulating talk radio.

I would also guess that some of our friends on the right would agree that Pat Robertson is more extreme than Jocelyn Elders - or at least called it a tie.

I would also suspect that some of us on the left put more trust in the Joint Chiefs than in the UN.

Regards,

D-Ray

I played with it several times to get a feel for how it was weighted. It was much too simple and the questions lacked appropriate choices. My 34 was even after pro-choice and gay marriage positive votes. It was basically a choice of whether you wanted a big government. I don't.

Yes and No. I do not support misleading political adds but I do support the first amendment hence I have no problem with Rush or anyone running their mouth. I do not believe in shutting up the the other side, I believe in keeping the discourse honest.

Terrible quiz. I got a nine, but I left lots of answers blank. I don't know how that affects things.

It's probably really stupid for a newbie to start with a political test, but I'm in for a 32.

I think that as soon as you respond to smaller govt and no faith in the UN, the poll scorer algorithm shoots you way past Reagan. Not neccessarily true. I believe there are many TRUE liberals out there that want to reclaim the title of liberal for the good of Thoreau and the founders, who also generally distrust dictation from Washington or the UN.

finnbow 04-12-2011 08:01 PM

Howdy flacaltenn. Welcome aboard.

Welcome. I look forward to hearing your thoughts about liberal democracy. Merrylander reminds us from time to time that the current GOP cannot accurately be called conservative. It sounds like you might follow that line of thought, but don't let me put works in your mouth.

Do you come here from AudioKarma, or did you just happen to stumble upon a bunch of political junkies?

True, but I must say you have a great score. <g> The left likes big government because it gives them things and at someone else's expense. A quick look at the economic calamity in California demonstrates what is in store for the rest of the country once the wanton disregard for business occurs. We watch as businesses move to more friendly locales, thus, taking those middle class jobs with them. This, together with our ultra liberal stand on illegal immigration, has polarized society along socio-economic lines.

The de facto policy on undocumented workers is actually very pro business. As long as business interests are happy with the reduced wage structure resulting from the a steady pool of cheap labor, the northward migration will continue.

Nope -- missed AudioKarma.
I'm a lapsed political forum addict. Haven't done this in 5 years. But I've been yelling at the TV too much lately and need to have some rational people show me that there's hope. Learned much more from being on the boards, than from watching cable.. I think it forces you to research and ponder and test your convictions in a way that "the media' cant'

No, there is no hope of a peaceful future for conservatives. I'm here to see to that.:D

I think people can get as much out of the boards as they put in. A bit of research and the ability to cite sources for a proposition are more persuasive and provide a better learning experience than sourcing a statement as "some people say." ;)

'Some people say' you ain't kidding! ;)

And as you can probably tell, most folks around here despise each other.:D

Actually, even among the most strident proponents of opposing views, while we will try hard to land rhetorical blows, also recognize that the other person behind the keyboard has cares and concerns similar to our own.

Go on, squeeze the weeze! Many people like to.

It doesn't hurt me a bit.
