Strong speech! Best rhetorical turn of the night was "Reagan said 'Gorbechev, tear down that wall!' My predecessor said 'Putin, do whatever the hell you want!'"

That he had to have written down what he was saying. tRump on the other hand needs no notes or teleprompters. My reply. He could have responded to her exploitative single example with a littany of the victims of school shootings vs the unwillingness of the party on the payroll of the NRA, doing nothing to address that as a matter of pandering policy. Then there's Timothy McVeigh, another nut job domestic terrorist, but that doesn't support their xenophobic nativist white supremacy narrative. Too many examples of home grown terror to cite.

Why was the speech so late this year?

The President is invited by the Speaker of the House. So Mike Johnson (Trump) must of thought it would help somehow by waiting maybe?
