State Of The Union Address Tonight

We will be watching here. Hope everybody does the same.

Biden/Harris '24!
'28 & '32, too!

Pio1980 03-07-2024 09:50 PM

I was impressed with his powerful unflagging delivery amd messaging consistency, age certainly wasn't a factor tonight.

Mark B 03-07-2024 11:53 PM

President Biden crushed it!

donquixote99 03-08-2024 12:33 AM

Strong speech! Best rhetorical turn of the night was "Reagan said 'Gorbechev, tear down that wall!' My predecessor said 'Putin, do whatever the hell you want!'"

BigElCat 03-08-2024 07:23 AM

The Nat Cs were fully prepared...

Comments in articles on the speech have been brutal. The best I can say for Britt...

I watched the speech but didn't stick around for the sideshow. In female GOP speakers none can top this chick.

I stopped watching this sorry spectacle of stupidity years ago. The country should revert to the President providing a written report as was the original practice.

We'll be back to riding horses after four more years of this.

Disaster for Trump as Truth Social Crashes at Critical SOTU Moment

Quote:

The former president heavily promoted his live reactions prior to President Joe Biden’s SOTU speech. But when it came time, Trump’s promises crashed and burned.
Like everything associated with this moron.

Deleted pic. Found same woman acting similar in pics at 2023 and 2022 State of Union. Watches crowd, never smiles. I now figure she's security

donquixote99 03-08-2024 12:44 PM

BTW, I see Biden is holding something above. My guess is it's the "Remember her name: Lakin Riley" button he displayed later--someone slipped it to him as he was making his entrance.

bobabode 03-08-2024 06:52 PM

At one point last night I asked Patty, "where's that 'Sleepy Joe' guy hiding?

Maybe Smoothy (zero junk) can provide a clue? C'mon Junkless, where you hiding, son? (rolls eyes)

In a remarkable moment, Biden responded to the outburst by holding up the "Say Her Name" pin Greene had handed him during his entrance — and appealing to Republicans to pass the bipartisan border security deal.
Surprised that President Biden actually took it from MTG.

https://sgp.fas.org/crs/misc/R44770.pdf

"Presidents George Washington and John Adams delivered their messages to Congress in person, but President Thomas Jefferson abandoned the practice as “monarchical” and time consuming, sending written messages instead. This precedent was followed until President Woodrow Wilson personally appeared before Congress in 1913. President Franklin Roosevelt adopted Wilson’s practice of personal delivery, and it has since become a contemporary tradition."

Hah! Good political Instinct there--refusing the token would play into their narrative, instead he got a useful prop for defusing it.

Those effected by the MAGA virus will never be rehabilitated back to normal. Years from now after we are all long gone there will be statues and shrines even a religion probably to the Great Orange One in Gold of course for worship.

I'm glad Biden showed some spunk and vigor. He needs to still play it cool. Get some of the Hollywood crowd to sell him now.......

I've seen some online jabbering that Biden must have been on "something" to be alert that long. That he had to have written down what he was saying. tRump on the other hand needs no notes or teleprompters. My reply. When you're babbling a stream of nonsense and incoherent thought no prompting is necessary.

He could have responded to her exploitative single example with a littany of the victims of school shootings vs the unwillingness of the party on the payroll of the NRA, doing nothing to address that as a matter of pandering policy. Then there's Timothy McVeigh, another nut job domestic terrorist, but that doesn't support their xenophobic nativist white supremacy narrative. Too many examples of home grown terror to cite.

The true believers in the MAGA movement will never admit any fault or waver in their delusions. Not in their DNA.

The closest they will ever get will be using "what abouts" trying to say everybody does this or that.

Noogies 03-10-2024 05:08 PM

Why was the speech so late this year?

The President is invited by the Speaker of the House. So Mike Johnson (Trump) must of thought it would help somehow by waiting maybe?

RickeyM 03-11-2024 11:06 AM

tRump hoping for something to blow up in Papa Joe's face probably. That backfired and the delay let Biden roll a campaign speech into the SOTU speech.

ZeroJunk 03-11-2024 05:08 PM

Poor old Joe, screaming. Like that makes it more emphatic or something.

Mark B 03-13-2024 12:10 AM

Plenty of MAGAt's were confused by this SOTU speech. Sentences longer than their trains of thought. Facts contrary to what they've been led to believe. No name calling and no funny sound effects.

Do you blame them for being so angry?
After all they expected DJT to give the SOTU, isn't he the rEAL president in their feeble minds?

By the way, our favorite (disgusting) MORON has given himself a new nickname, "Honest Don". Really, a guy who never tells the truth, ever?

A new low for the MAGAts.

RickeyM 03-13-2024 04:33 PM

"Honest Don"? Is that anything like "Truth Social"?
