Trump attacks Haley for absence of her husband, who is deployed
https://www.cnn.com/2024/02/10/polit...ley/index.html

Quote:

Former President* Donald Trump used a rally in South Carolina on Saturday to attack rival Nikki Haley in her home state — and to mock the absence of her husband, who is deployed overseas.

“Where’s her husband? Oh, he’s away. … What happened to her husband? Where is he? He’s gone,” Trump said at his rally in Conway, his first visit to the state this year.

Michael Haley is deployed in Africa with the South Carolina Army National Guard in support of the United States Africa Command, his second active-duty deployment overseas.

Nikki Haley fired back at Trump’s comments later Saturday, saying, “If you mock the service of a combat veteran, you don’t deserve a driver’s license, let alone being president of the United States.”

“Donald, if you have something to say, don’t say it behind my back; get on a debate stage and say it to my face,” she told a crowd in Gilbert, South Carolina.

In a rare move, Michael Haley fired back at the former president*, posting a meme on Twitter reading, “The difference between humans and animals? Animals would never allow the dumbest ones to lead the pack,” while mentioning Trump’s account in the caption.

That what happens when you radicalize a group. Same thing as ISIS. Taliban, etc. Only difference is the GOP hasn't convinced anybody to strap on a suicide vest of explosives. Many of their voters are convinced that violence will be necessary to achieve the defeat of "their enemy" tho'.

The ‘God’s Army’ Convoy Was an Unholy Union of the Far Right

Quote:

“It took three venues to contain the breadth of far-right factions under the Take Our Border Back Convoy banner,” said Devin Burghart, president and executive director of the Institute for Research and Education on Human Rights. “The convoy marks a return to the type of movement synergy that started in the lead-up to the insurrection.”

I turned 18 the year they ended the draft, 1975. They ended it weeks before my 18th birthday. Before that and as a male minority I was resigned to the belief that in less than a year I'd be in the jungles of South-East Asia. Whereas people like tRump could use money and connections to avoid serving their country. No way in hell would I vote for someone like that. My brother, being older than I and who served, is not a tRump supporter either.

Donald Trump ‘Did Nothing’ on Music Modernization Act, Key Attorney Behind Legislation Says, Despite His Claim That He Made Taylor Swift ‘So Much Money’
https://variety.com/2024/music/news/...ft-1235907368/

Quote:

Dina LaPolt, a key attorney behind the MMA, disputed Trump’s claims in a statement to Variety on Sunday.

“This [claim] is funny to me,” she wrote. “Trump did nothing on our legislation except sign it, and doesn’t even know what the Music Modernization Act does. Someone should ask him what the bill actually accomplished.”
It always amuses me that some here are so willing to believe this serial criminal liar’s many lies, without bothering to fact check. Just incredible - Donny rarely does what he says.

Trump’s NATO comments stir up a political storm as Russia keeps quiet
https://www.cnbc.com/2024/02/12/russ...cal-storm.html
The Kremlin on Monday declined to comment on Donald Trump’s remarks about not wanting to protect a NATO country from a future attack by Moscow, if they were behind on their payments.

Trump’s comments have thrust the Republican front-runner into the center of a political storm and sent shockwaves throughout the Western military alliance.

U.S. President Joe Biden described Trump’s remarks as “appalling and dangerous.”

As usual, you post vague "insights" with nothing to back it up. Of course you are smarter than the experts at The Economist.

Dondilion 02-12-2024 11:27 AM

Farmers' machines are on the streets in Europe. Germany the engine of Europe has transferred its major chemical industry to China and other significant manufacturing plants to the USA.

Do I need the Economist to tell me that?

The delusion is in his thinking Taylor Swift owes him 'loyalty' for signing a bill that 1) absolutely everybody wanted, and 2) he did not draft, contribute to, or advocate. This is actually a propaganda move to cover the fact that Taylor didn't endorse Biden at the Superbowl, as the howlers predicted. Of course she never had any plan to do so on that occasion.

Why "delusional" in attempting to put Swift on the back foot while advertising his support of a useful legislation?

It is politically shrewd.

No! No that is a huge load.
Legacy Europe, without waiting for a transition, for the most part closed its nuclear stations (France excepted) and then threw the burden of transition on its farmers. At the same it was making trade deals to import farm produce from such as Latin America.

Recently Biden announced a pause in LNG increase supply to Europe and one could not believe the bellyaching coming from the Europeans.

Europe has lost its shine.

OK, two possibilities here.

1) You think Trump doesn't expect loyalty from Swift, but he thinks others will think he deserves loyalty, if he claims he does, and so think badly of Swift. And you think that is shrewd. In that case you and Trump are both delusional.

2) You think Trump actually expects loyalty from Swift. And you think others will agree and so think badly of Swift. And you think that is shrewd. In that case you and Trump are both mega delusional.
