McCarthy Launches an Impeachment Inquiry

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) said Tuesday he is directing House committees to open an impeachment inquiry into President Biden, amid pressure from some hard-right members of the Republican caucus to do so.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/polit...n-impeachment/

McCarthy said a few days ago that he wouldn't take this step without a vote in the House. Now that it has become clear that he doesn't have the votes, he does it unilaterally (and without evidence).

The DJT Revenge Tour hits the big time. Whell should be ecstatic. Once again the minority of the minority party yanks Kev's chain. The Gym & Jim Follies couldn't do it now this. They know this won't work but they hope to fling enough dung against the wall to stink up the joint. Maybe after the 2024 elections we'll actually get representatives that want to govern.

If the past is prologue, Comer and Jordan's folly will degenerate into an absolute shit show of vacuous stupidity, not that it will matter in MAGAWorld. It's all about creating the illusion that Biden is as corrupt as Trump (the very same rationale for Whell having started his lame "Biden Crime Family" whataboutism thread.

Poor Kevin... between Marge Green and that slimeball Matt Gaetz playing tug o' war with his sack, I'm enjoying his travails. The lunatic cannibals in the CQP will pull the ripcord and dump his speakership in the crapper.

Good.

Revenge being hidden as retribution and retaliation against the Democrats for having the nerve of holding accountable then to impeach Trump. (twice)

Any who still have doubts as to what a Republican President in charge of the Justice Department will be doing. Is not paying attention to the telegraphing happening right now.

Except then it will be wide spread and all encompassing into every aspect of our society.

Poor Kevin needed to pass a few bills to keep the government going. Is this the deal he had to make in order for that to happen? To stay speaker?

What a weak man. Just right for his party a follower....

Here's a good one for you. In the buildup to Trump's first impeachment, his DOJ's Office of Legal Counsel issued an opinion stating that unless a formal resolution was passed by the House authorizing an impeachment (as opposed to simply declaring it as Pelosi did prior to passing such a resolution vote and as McCarthy just did) that no compulsory process (i.e., subpoenas for documents and testimony) can be enforced.

It appears that Trump and his House poodles have been hoisted with their own petard. LOL.

Matt Gaetz has promised this daily routine each morning in the House.
In order: Pray, Pledge of Allegiance, Motion to Vacate.
He should have ended with "Pray again".

Remember those FBI whistleblowers? (aka disgruntled ex-FBI employees)(rolls eyes)

'FBI agent disputes whistleblowers’ claims about key Hunter Biden meeting'

"The FBI agent overseeing the investigation into Hunter Biden disputed whistleblower claims that the prosecutor in charge of the probe was stymied by the Justice Department, according to the transcript of an interview with lawmakers that took place last week and was obtained by The Washington Post." Kev is hanging on by a thread with Matt Gaetz teasing the thread with a sharp knife. What of clusterfuck of idiocy.

The job of keeping the inquiry going up until election time while keeping the GQP hounds off his ass may be a bit too much for Kev. He can't risk coming up empty before the presidential election thus giving Biden a boost. The likely hope is to put Biden on the defensive and deflect away from tRump's many, many indictments and trials. If the inquiry theater does no more than the Gym & Jim Clown Show will the GQP'ers want Kev's head on a pike?

BTW, can someone explain how or why the Repubs can impeach Biden for things that occured before he was president? If f*k ups before elected count, tRump should be marched out and shot.

George Santos has been charged with fraud, money laundering, theft of public funds & making false statements. Kevin McCarthy refuses to expel him from office.

Joe Biden has not been charged with a single crime, nor has any credible evidence of his criminality been shown. Kevin McCarthy is trying to expel him from office.

This is what happens when inmates (FreeDumb Caucus) run the asylum.

Two reasons for this. First is that no one likes Kevin and running to MAL and falling at the feet of a crook will not work anymore.

Second is that if all goes according to Fani's plan, the first two cases should begin by end of next month. And neither Chesebro or Powell have a credible defense to put up. And its on TV and Trump will hog the news again.

WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—In an irate letter to the White House, Kevin McCarthy and other congressional Republicans have demanded that President Biden reveal why they are impeaching him.

The letter claims that, after Republicans announced their impeachment inquiry, “the White House has stubbornly refused to provide us with any reasons for our doing so.”

The Republicans go on to demand that Biden reveal the rationale for his ouster “immediately, or face the consequences.”

“The American people are waiting, Mr. President, for you to explain to us why we are impeaching you,” the letter concludes. “Your silence will not be forgiven.”

Kevin just grew a pair and he is beginning to sound like our Ike. (GRIN)

Quote:

“You guys think I’m scared of a motion to vacate. Go f---ing ahead and do it. I’m not scared,” McCarthy told the House GOP conference in a closed-door meeting Thursday morning, according to a lawmaker in attendance who spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe the private remarks. Several lawmakers and aides recalled that McCarthy told lawmakers to move or file “a f---ing motion” to oust him.
It seems like he has the Dem support against ousting him. Maybe his best chance to waste the Freedumb party and avoid a shut down. Our economy is still too fragile with oil prices creeping up to "f*$k" around with it.

Asked GOP Rep. Ken Buck if he changed his mind on the impeachment inquiry after House Republican conference meeting today, and he said he didn’t go. “I haven’t heard an accurate fact in conference in a long time. I’m not going to waste my time,” he told me.
