Musk is the poster-child for the mistaken notion that someone who is smart in one realm is also smart in another.

Musk is an autocratic, plutocratic, hostile/malignant narcissist...in my humble clinical opinion.

Musk and Trump have one major thing in common, they both satisfy all nine of the clinical criteria for narcissistic personality disorder.

And it's not in the least bit surprising what sorts of maladaptive behavior that somebody like you would be likely to identify as admirable about our species.

The guy is a dreamer. He is always striving to go beyond the edge of his time...hyperloop, Mars colony.

People like that are often quirky.

You are forever unhappy about our species. Our species is just part of an experiment so do not expect perfection. Long ago there was a series on TV - The Ascent of Man by Jacob Bronowski...a great series.

BTW Elon went to Russia to discuss new ideas re rockets and the Russians were condescending. Elon gave them the middle finger with subsequent achievements.

You fail to understand that success, even remarkable, possibly unprecedented levels of personal achievement and success does not eliminate the possibility of one becoming a malicious sick narcisisstic fuck. In fact the two, the success and the disease, often go hand in hand. Vladimir Putin and Musk being classic examples.

I tend to find the truth about our species more accurate from the perspective of Howard Zinn than from Bronowski. And I find humanity to be the scourge of planet earth. We are locusts with a little intelligence ans way too much technology. Wherever we go, sooner or later everything dies.

Give us time, it's why I said "sooner or later." I remain firm in my conviction that as a whole, we are bad for each other and worse for the planet.

Just like Donny, Elon is a serial liar.

Basically, Twitter’s own lawyers are admitting in a court filing that the guy who owns their company is spewing utter nonsense about what the Twitter Files revealed. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything quite like this.

Guy takes over company because he’s positive that there are awful things happening behind the scenes. Gives “full access” to a bunch of very ignorant journalists who are confused about what they find. Guy who now owns the company falsely insists that they proved what he believed all along, leading to the revival of a preternaturally stupid lawsuit… only to have the company’s lawyers basically tell the judge “ignore our stupid fucking owner, he can’t read or understand any of this.”

Yet, our boy Whell believed it. LOL.

Sounds more like a marriage of convenience and certainly yet another revenue stream for Tesla. Since Tesla was first to the market, they have a lot of EV charging stations, especially in urban areas (I can only speak of of Norcal & Reno from experience). And Tesla does gouge especially by bumping up the rates between 11am and 9pm (or even later) depending on location.

So this helps Ford and GM by not having to build their own stations or depend on government infrastructure while providing Tesla additional revenues without having to invest much.

Lot of the suburban EV owners charge at home, so this only affects the city apartment dwellers.

It is a trait of authoritarians to admire "strong leaders who overcome opposition to get their way" for being strong leaders who overcome opposition to get their way.

Looks like the Musk "world" just shrunk considerably.

'Judge orders Tesla to undo Elon Musk’s $56 billion pay package' WP

"A Delaware judge on Tuesday ruled that Elon Musk’s generous 2018 compensation package, which helped make the tech entrepreneur the world’s richest person, was unfair and should be undone.

The $56 billion package, advanced by shareholders and Tesla’s board, entitled Musk to stock options in the company as it hit specific performance targets. Shareholders sued Musk, alleging the process that led to the package was improper. Tesla’s stock slumped more than 2 percent at the opening bell Tuesday before rebounding slightly."

https://www.washingtonpost.com/techn...k-pay-package/

The best/worst thing to happen to Tesla was Elon. I'm still impressed with his setting $46 billion on fire by buying Xhitter.

Tesla woes get investors talking about its successor in 'Magnificent Seven'

"Tesla has a lot of issues with competition from Chinese EV makers, price cuts, shrinking margins and even Musk said it himself that the Dojo supercomputer is a long shot."

Tesla's stock, which is down nearly 24% so far this year, formed a "death cross" on Thursday, a sign interpreted by some traders as portending more losses. The death cross kicks in when the 50-day moving average falls below the 200-day moving average.
Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. Sorry, Elon! NOT!

Elon Musk drops his lawsuit against Open AI, there was a hearing scheduled for tomorrow, no reasons given, but here is this!

Quote:

Musk has openly criticized OpenAI and its chief executive, Sam Altman, for focusing more on growing a business and making money than serving humanity. At the same time, Musk himself is trying to build his own AI company, called xAI. He raised $6 billion for the venture last month.
This asshole is still fighting with Tesla shareholders to be paid $34Billion for his services yet has the audacity to criticize the company he co-founded of making money! Sour grapes?

Then on Monday he took on Apple for planning to integrate their Siri with ChatGPT by threatening to ban iPhones from Tesla factories and offices.

Tesla shareholder sues Musk to return billions in alleged unlawful profits
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/tesla...235741420.html

Quote:

WILMINGTON, Delaware (Reuters) -Elon Musk made billions of dollars by selling Tesla stock using insider information, an institutional shareholder accused in a lawsuit filed on Tuesday, asking the court to direct the Tesla CEO to return "unlawful profits."

The lawsuit comes two days before a critical vote by Tesla shareholders on whether to reinstate Musk's $56 billion pay package, after a Delaware judge voided it in January because she found that Musk had improperly controlled the process.

Musk and his brother, Kimbal Musk, a Tesla director, sold a combined $30 billion in the electric vehicle maker's stock between late 2021 and the end of 2022, cashing in before news that would cause the stock to fall became public, according to the lawsuit, which was filed by the Employees' Retirement System of Rhode Island (ERSRI).
Elon may not be as dumb as Donny, but he's every bit as sleazy.
