Wow! A literal 'bloody shirt' story. But the take on Trump is cute.

I could not listen to this crook for much more than ten minutes so switched him off to rejoice the news. From what I have read, he could not even stay on the announcement, let it drag out for over an hour and also no GOP members of Congress were in the audience. And now Ivanka has dumped him.

From what I read the only Congressional Republican who was there was Madison Cawthorn desperately trying to remain relevant after his primary loss.

Meanwhile, former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie received huge applause at an annual meeting of Republican governors Tuesday morning after blaming former President Trump for GOP failures in the last three elections, according to three sources in the room and a fourth person familiar with the speech.

As Donny started to ramble, attendees began leaving but tRump's Maga-Lardo staff (security) began preventing them from leaving. I guess if you're not being paid to watch him speak, why bother.

So, Florida Man locked the doors on his audience who were trying to escape. Too damned funny.

The Palm Beach Fire Chief should come down on his ass like a ton of bricks for this.

Floriduh Man just keeps on writing those SNL skits for them. To think they were worried about new material when he left office.

Think of what you're saying. The Palm Beach Fire Chief? On Trump?

I think Trump's Palm Beach neighbors would applaud the Lying Dotard getting his comeuppance.

Seriously though, locking exit doors in a room/gathering like that is, in fact, a big deal. Does the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire ring any bells?

donquixote99 11-17-2022 08:09 AM

Palm Beach Fire Chief is a working stiff, not a member of the rich Palm Beach elite. He will be accustomed to showing deference to the rich, and he heads a force that may be heavily magatized. And details on what doors were actually locked, if any, are a bit murky.

But if people were prevented from freely leaving, that's kidnapping, isn't it?

Not to get to far into the weeds, but the Palm Beach Fire Chief is almost certainly the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) for enforcement of fire codes in his municipality. He has unchallenged authority for the enforcement of NFPA 101, the Life Safety Code, and AHJ's that I have worked with (and I've worked with many) are very zealous about protecting their authority and prerogatives.

In my experience, they're not remotely fearful of rich and influential people. In fact, they enjoy making it quite clear who's boss when it comes to Life Safety Code interpretation and enforcement.

donquixote99 11-17-2022 11:44 AM

Authority and perogatives of an independent government sector regulator, vs the power of corrupt rich people with a 'movement' behind them? What can the Fire Chief do? Fine him 'heavily?' Heavily enough that it would actually hurt Trump?

bobabode 11-17-2022 12:11 PM

The fire dept/code enforcement can red tag the whole property if lard ass wants to really push it. IIRC shit fer brains signed an agreement with the city not to live at Mar a Lardo.

In that Mar-A-Lago is a club (as opposed to solely a private residence), he could send in a team of inspectors and shut the place down if code violations posed a danger to the public. Indeed, if this well-publicized infraction did in fact occur, I would bet that the Fire Chief has already spoken to the folks at MAL.

Blocking the means of egress in such a building is a very serious code infraction. In a fire at a chicken processing plant in NC where the means of egress were locked, 25 were killed and 55 injured. Three officials of the plant were charged with manslaughter.

These kind of infractions are considered among the worst in that locking/blocking means of egress is generally perceived by authorities as a deliberate and willful act.

RickeyM 11-17-2022 02:17 PM

I don't think the "security staff" locked any doors did they? I take it that they were just physically blocking people's way out of the room. Not that I'd ever attend one of Dotards events but if someone tried blocking me from leaving... well, they could try.

So, Trump wants to trash the Constitution because Twitter didn't post Hunter Biden's dick pics (which broke several of Twitter's Terms of Service concerning hacked materials and pornography). In doing so, Trump is also admitting to the Special Counsel that he is (was) willing to trash the Constitution to stay in power. Brilliant! So far, no word from "constitutional conservatives" on Trump's insistence upon terminating the Constitution.

Did you miss the part where he throws authors of the Constitutions under the bus. Well at least some of them anyway.

This just says in plain language that DJT views the U.S. Constitution as an obstacle in his way. In his way to emperorship perhaps https://www.audiokarma.org/forums/st...s/scratch2.gif

Trump is shouting his intentions to overthrow the lawful government! Shut him up and bury him in prison now!

That there sounds like it could be his campaign platform. The question is will he be the Republican candidate or an independant?

The Republican Party 2022: Pro-dick pic, anti-Constitution.

donquixote99 12-03-2022 10:37 PM

I was wondering what the legal description for Trump's terminate the Constitution' speech was. Per Seth Abramson, that would be 'Incitement to Sedition.' Further, "If Trump has taken any action in conjunction with anyone else to advance his goal it is Seditious Conspiracy." https://twitter.com/SethAbramson/sta...prDnTz3tp55Xzg

RickeyM 12-04-2022 07:05 AM

I haven't watched the Sunday news shows in a while but it would be fun to watch Repub politicians sprinting away from anyone with a camera and microphone.

The silver lining to this cloud, Deplorable Donny has since doubled down on it, Repubs can be made to state publicly do they support tRump or do they support the U.S. Constitution. No crap about "he misspoke" or "that's not what he meant", do they support a clear and present danger to our republic or do they support our democracy. They can't do both.

finnbow 12-04-2022 08:03 AM

Republicans: WE ARE CONSTITUTIONAL CONSERVATIVES!

Trump: THROW OUT THE CONSTITUTION AND CROWN ME KING BECAUSE TWITTER!

Those that swore under oath to preserve and protect the US Constitution against enemies foreign and domestic now have a duty to uphold their oath of office.

Time for real not pretend oath-keeping.

Rajoo 12-04-2022 09:55 AM

The Republican elected representatives by and large will look for rocks to hide under till 2024 elections since they have nothing to gain or lose. Two third of their voters are still election deniers. Deny election fraud, they stand to lose in the primary. Claim election fraud, lose in the general election. But of course this will vary from state to state, county to county. The GOP now has a Trump problem and best is to watch this shit show from afar and let Trump implode. I still believe that the GOP hopes that the Dem's will destroy Trump for them, while they begin their own charade in the House hoping to bring down Biden and sabotage his administration.

But the GOP will have a huge problem soon, another Smith is coming to town. :D

finnbow 12-04-2022 10:25 AM

The Republican position is that Twitter should enforce the Constitution but the government should not if it upsets Trump.

finnbow 12-05-2022 11:06 AM

PALM BEACH (The Borowitz Report)—Donald J. Trump clarified his call for the termination of the United States Constitution by indicating that he would abolish the entire document except for the Fifth Amendment.

“I haven’t read the Constitution, but, from what I’ve been told, most of it is a waste of paper, quite frankly,” he told the One America News Network. “The Fifth Amendment is the only part worth saving.”

Trump said that the Fifth Amendment was “maybe the most beautiful amendment ever written,” and noted that he had used it “many, many times.”

“When I left office, I took a lot of documents with me, but I had no interest in taking the Constitution,” he said. “If I could have cut the Fifth Amendment out of the Constitution and put it in my pocket, I would have done that, but the rest of it was written by a bunch of dummies. A bunch of dummies.”

Republican leaders were noticeably silent on the former President’s latest remarks, except for Representative Kevin McCarthy, who said, “Hunter Biden’s laptop.”

I'm thinking he'll be indicted for his Georgia crimes and the MAL documents fairly soon in the new year. I think the Jan 6 investigation will continue for a while. Just spitballin'.

Oerets 12-06-2022 05:36 AM

There will be January 6 hearings going on in the new year by the House. Being ran by the Banana Republican's as a Kangaroo Court. Finding any reason to disallow Democrats any seats.

Benghazi's Nazi's return with vengeance!

These MAGAMorons are too stupid to realize how much of a ridiculous shit show their hearings are going to be with Gym Jordan ranting and raving like a coked-up banshee.

I fail to see what the Freedumbers hopes to accomplish with their GQP version of J6 hearings. Thought the idea is to put this behind them like it never happened or was a peaceful protest by their mob. Is it to discredit any findings by the Special Counsel? How, by trying to refute all the finding by the current committee, or will any Dems will be on the panel?

They're trying to pin the blame on Pelosi for not adequately protecting them against the insurrectionists that Trump sent there - a typical MAGA blame-shifting exercise.
