Russian Missiles Hit Poland

Is what headlines are saying
Strikes put Ukraine in darkness; missiles cross into Poland

Officials are still assessing the situation and no real details yet. So, were Russia's missiles off the mark or has Putin lost his mind?

Rajoo 11-15-2022 01:47 PM

I believe this is an opportunity to arm Ukraine with long range missiles. Doubt NATO will engage with Russia directly yet until we hear from Putin the Great.

If it happens again (unlikely) then all bets are off. I could see Ukraine getting armed with long range missiles and intel on what to launch them at.

This was either a goof with old inaccurate missile, or Putin poking NATO to 'be strong' and see what he can get away with. Should clarify the second issue for him.

This morning's news is saying it was not a missile fired by Russia but more likely a Ukrainian missile or interceptor that missed.

The professional US army has been telling the Biden administration to wind down this thing.

However in the corridors are neocons, military salesmen and money launderers.

In the United States, the military answers to civilian authorities, comrade. As for neocons, the Biden administration is hardly neocon. As for money launderers, you seem to have confused Trump and his Russian patrons for Biden.

Russia faces demographic crisis, with a birth rate way below replacement. Hence Putin's deportation of thousands of Ukranian women and children to Russia. But a man who treats the population of a country as spoils of war is a monster. He must suffer, in the words of Churchill, "disasters overwhelming, and complete defeat."

I am concerned that in the GOP controlled House next year, arming Ukraine is one issue where the Freedumb caucus/GQP may vote with GOP. So far military support for Ukraine has been bilateral.

I suspect the general fears that the military is being trapped by a client state, ideologues, and hustlers.

OTOH, the intelligent way of looking at this is that we are seriously degrading the military capacity (and the ruling mandate of the leader) of our primary geopolitical foe through the expenditure of a small fraction of our annual DoD budget and without boots on the ground. A win-win for Ukraine and western democracies.

Client state? You are quoting Fucker Carlson. WTF does he know?

Ukraine isn't a democracy. It's a State Department client state.

Julian Assange explains Afghanistan in 2011:

The goal is to use Afghanistan to wash money out of the tax bases of the US and Europe through Afghanistan and back into the hands of a transnational security elite. The goal is an endless war.

The difference this time is that war can easily slip into Armageddon despite the establishment of deconfliction. The president said as much. However, the hustlers here are gamblers.

Additionally what is peculiar about this client state is that it has access to the innards of both Dems and Repugs. Thus it can play one against the other. The US appeared trapped: the client state might draw it into a final war, not of its choice. The missile into Poland and Zelensky's response amplify the General's concern about escalation. He wants to wind this thing down.

Julian Assange? Seriously?

There's no question that the international arms industry is cutthroat, competitive and profitable. At least the western democracies deliver high quality military gear and not that ramshackle, unreliable shit the Russians are peddling and embezzling billions from.
