Republican Sabotage of the Economy to Own The Democrats

'White House, truckers blast Tex. as inspections of trucks from Mexico snarl commercial traffic' WP

https://www.washingtonpost.com/busin...abbott-mexico/

Gov. Abbott sends his minions to duplicate Federal inspections at the southern border causing truckloads of vegetables to spoil.

We need to send the 82nd and the 101st Airborne Divisions - to Austin. Maybe an armored division or two equipped with M1-A1s and AH64 Apaches to deal with these assholes.

BlueStreak 04-13-2022 04:47 PM

it's Texas, they're insane and no one should waste any time trying to reason with them.

piece-itpete 04-14-2022 07:19 AM

That looks like an immigration fight / issue

donquixote99 04-14-2022 07:59 AM

Admit it! It was a republican stunt that was making big trouble and costing millions while doing no good for anything.

Chicks 04-14-2022 09:38 AM

Abbott is up for re-election in Nov. Expect many more absurd stunts like this one, and the stunt of bussing migrants to DC. His idiot TX constituents love this sort of thing.

piece-itpete 04-14-2022 09:51 AM

The man ran partially on an anti-immigration policy - it appears he's making good on it.

Pio1980 04-14-2022 06:24 PM

I guess the border is the exception to the "right to life" defenders, it's for the "we the people", from conception to birth. After that, you're on your own, pilgrim. Oh, and here's some guns, regardless of your competence, we don't care what you want them for.
Trumpism= make America white again, like that matters in the cosmic grand scheme.
Fine, Texas can do it's own seasonal stoop labor.

Thnx, I feel better now.
Populist lieing demagogic mid-term political ads have been running constantly here for the last few months, frying my senses, and have another month to go.

That's what a lot of such things are. Texas will claim to be one of the wealthiest, best run states in the country, then blame the federal government for their "problems". What "problems"? I thought they had everything under control down there? As my Father once told me, "The only problem with Texas is that it's full of Texans.".:p

Yes, it's very important that he make good on a bad promise. Do you see how many of those folks who cross the border don't stay in Texas anyways? We have a bunch of them here in Virginia, my folks say there's plenty in Ohio and I'm sure it's similar in nearly every state. What Abbott is doing is nothing more than a goofy political stunt to appease his redneck base.

Seems to be Modus Operandi with the GOP.

I blame Biden and party leaders for not patting themselves on the back more. Bragging on all the construction and repairing going on.

Around here all you see is building and road work yet in a Red state the Dems are silent...WTF!
Letting other look good???? Taking credit....

Isn't that what they always do?

Actually, it appears he was faking making good on it. Just a show for the rubes.

Texas repeals immigration order that caused border gridlock

Doh! Free Market libertarians were highly pissed at this dumbass stunt.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott's truck inspection policy created a logjam at the border that resulted in $240 million of spoiled produce

Dumb sumbitch.

bobabode 04-19-2022 09:00 PM

New nation, new ideas: A study finds immigrants out-innovate native-born Americans

https://www.npr.org/sections/money/2...born-americans

These racist MAGAMoron asshats don't care. They'd drive the economy over a cliff to exclude immigrants.

The U.S. economy is again being held hostage to our ridiculous federal debt ceiling
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/colum...213810268.html

Quote:

The individuals in charge of U.S. fiscal policy are often thought to be among the most sober people in the world, so you may be wondering why we're suddenly hearing ideas such as the minting of a trillion-dollar platinum coin or selling $100 face-value Treasury bonds for $200.

Sadly, the answer is simple: Infantile poseurs in the House Republican majority are threatening to block an increase in the federal debt ceiling. Again.

Republican brinkmanship over the debt ceiling has become almost an annual affair. It regularly causes shudders in the financial markets and warnings that provoking a federal default on Treasury securities — presumably the ultimate consequence of a long-term standoff — will have dire effects for Americans in all walks of life and for global economic stability.
Whell's World. A world of ignorance.
