House minority leader Kevin McCarthy refuses to cooperate with the JAN 6 Committee:

I fear that unless the investigation leads to some DOJ prosecutions it will have been a lot of sound and fury signifying nothing. Anyone not firmly brainwashed knows full well what happened and who is responsible. The cult has firmly embraced the big lie and doesn't care. Support tRump, support the lie and they have your backing.

barbara 01-13-2022 09:08 AM

I don't know if there will be any prosecutions, but, I would settle for enough dirt to come out that those involved will lose support for any election they might run for.

I know, that's asking for a lot. But, at this point, that might be all we can hope for.

The way the last big insurgency was mishandled. The civil war as a guide I doubt there will be little in a way of an accounting of the real culprits and truly guilty.

Rather hoping to count on the better angles of those involved to come forth. It will not, just festering looking for a way to win.

Washington Post headline:

Jan. 6 committee says tech firms are not cooperating, issues subpoenas

https://www.washingtonpost.com/polit...use-committee/

The initial request for this information was sent to these Tech companies in August 2021.

"Committee Chairman Bennie G. Thompson (D-Miss.) gave the companies a two-week deadline to produce materials."

https://www.washingtonpost.com/polit...374_story.html

Looks like these companies are giving the middle finger to the JAN 6 Committee.

Never gonna happen. The GOP has set the hook so deep their people will go to their grave believing what happened Jan 6th was justified and anyone involved were heroes and patriots.

Jan. 6 Panel Subpoenas Giuliani, Digging Into False Vote Fraud Claims
The House committee investigating the Capitol riot called for documents and testimony from Rudolph W. Giuliani and other members of President Donald J. Trump’s legal team.

LOCK THEM UP!!!!!! :D

Eric Trump and Kimberly Guilfoyle's phone records subpoenaed by January 6 committee

https://www.cnn.com/2022/01/18/polit...n-6/index.html

Refer them to DOJ ASAP, please!

RickeyM 01-18-2022 11:35 PM

The subpoenas won't be complied with so what will the DOJ do? "Paging Mr. Garland, Mr. Merrick Garland?".

And/or, as America appropriately changes due to the youth vote, they'll wither away formulating some sort of "lost cause" bullshittery like many due related to the Civil War.

Somehow, in their mind, those f*cking idiots will always be heroes.

donquixote99 01-19-2022 03:35 PM

America to change in accordance with youth vote? Been predicted all my life, doesn't happen much. And especially won't happen if Repubs succeed in giving themselves power to fix elections.

The vote was 8-1. Justice Clarence Thomas would have granted the application.
Good ol' Clarence, lol. At least the drunken frat boy and the rest of the far-right justices did the right thing!

Support tRump and the big lie and we'll show 'em

I have so little faith that anything will come of this. I am pre disappointed.

That can't be healthy. :(

BigElCat 01-21-2022 05:41 AM

I saw that Ivanka was invited to participate rather than subpoenaed.

She, apparently, was spoon-feed a narrative that Donald couldn't have told the insurrectionists to 'stand down' without making the situation worse.

Dondilion 01-21-2022 07:42 AM

Economics trumps the insurrection.

Hmmm...nobody is going to jail over 'economics.'

donquixote99 01-21-2022 08:39 AM

Trump says “my phone call to the Secretary of State of Georgia was perfect, perhaps even more so than my call with the Ukrainian President, if that’s possible.”

This is 100% accurate if you understand that in Trump's brain "perfect" was substituted for "criminal."

barbara 01-22-2022 11:10 AM

Maybe the Jan 6 committee should look into Clarence Thomas' wife and see what kind of influence she has on his decisions.

Why should he be worried. In the unlikely even he's ever convicted of anything, let alone jailed, as soon as the next Repub is appointed president he'll be pardoned on inauguration day before anybody get's dressed for the inaugural ball that night. That is unless all his legal woes "disappear" after the 2022 election.

bobabode 01-28-2022 11:30 PM

"The congressional committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol by a pro-Trump mob has issued subpoenas to 14 individuals who cast bogus electoral votes for the former president in seven states won by Joe Biden in 2020.

The move comes as two Democratic attorneys general have asked federal prosecutors in recent days to investigate whether crimes were committed in assembling or submitting the “alternate” Trump slates. Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco this week confirmed prosecutors’ consideration of what she termed the “fraudulent elector certifications.”

In a statement Friday, Rep. Bennie G. Thompson (D-Miss.), chairman of the select committee investigating the Capitol attack, said the panel had obtained information that multiple advisers to former president Donald Trump or his campaign had used the actions of the bogus electors to “justify delaying or blocking the certification of the election during the Joint Session of Congress on January 6th, 2021.”" WP

Lock them up and toss the key. Effing traitors.

Once the Fourth Reich is in power watch them institute measures to keep anyone else from doing what they did. Just wait and see. Barring, of course, the Justice Department actually prosecutes anyone for the coup attempt.
