Radicalization of elite military members.

It's an open secret in my experience.

Just how close did we come on the 6th?
Will the truth ever come out in our life times?

Dondilion 04-16-2021 05:37 PM

What's new?

Elite forces tend to attract the most radical, the most abnormal.

What's scary is that the great lie that brought this about is still being pushed by Donny & the Deplorables. What's even scarier is that there are various anti-government groups that took part of the attempted coup are allowed to operate in the country.

They are being played and don't know it or if they do, care little if at all. So filled with hate and anger that consumes all logic and reasoning.

The military attracts paranoid psychos, looking for a mission? Oh, there's a big surprise. LOL!

(Am I the only veteran here?)

Folks if you're a recruiter, especially one looking for special forces types, that's what you want. You don't want the sensitive free thinker, you want the guy who's intelligent enough to successfully execute a mission and crazy enough to enjoy the violence of it. The one for whom, "For God and Country!", is enough of an excuse to kill people and blow shit up. All the rest is just boring details.

What's scary is military grade psy-ops being deployed in Americas right wing media. It used to be reserved for wartime and directed by the government solely at foreign enemies through the media in general. Now, it's being directed at our own government by the likes of Fox News and the more radical organizations.

Just look at the shit that comes out of our current pet troll. There it is. He's a poster boy for rightist propaganda.

Someone needs to take a deep dive into who's behind it. Who's really responsible  Somebody's doing an awfully successful divide and conquer.

I was Navy, but didn't get anywhere near the "elite" forces (like the Seals). It was a great experience that set me up for a very long and successful career as a civvy, though.

Never served with a very low (3) lottery pick. Figured why kick the bear, if they wanted me, would know. Having grew up with a Father in the Navy and a Mother also who served. Knew some of the requirements and expectations.
Graduated HS and never heard any more about it.

Different times different world. I still believe if the draft was around, where men/women now, from all segments were looking at being drafted. That the youth would be more engaged in politics. Along with the parents whose kids would be going in.

My Dad was career military, a JAG officer stationed in Japan, DC, Texas and Germany.

Though I was never active duty military, I was a DAC (Dept of Army Civilian) for 20 years in Louisiana, Germany and DC. FWIW, I was the "commander" of a number of military officers of Captain and Major rank and my bosses ranged from Colonel to Major General in rank.

I think I've been to nearly all Army and Air Force bases in the United States (including Alaska and Hawaii) as well as Germany, Belgium, Holland, Italy, Turkey, Japan, and the erstwhile Canal Zone. My two sons are also DAC's living in upstate NY (doing project management on a VA hospital) and in Israel (in charge of all US funded construction in the northern half of the country).

My point was; For certain roles in the US military, they seek out certain personality types and exploit them. The True Believer, the uber-Patriot, real "God and Country" types who live for the hyperbole and the real reasons for going to war are just excuses to go kill Commies, Towelheads, Krauts, Nips, Gooks, Russkis or whatever the anti-American Jesus hater du Jour is. Oftentimes such individuals make it pretty far up the chain. They fancy themselves Soldiers of God.

So, does it really come as any surprise that a few of these folks fell in behind Trump with all the other nuts?

Yeah that, but I was thinking more along the lines of who of his mortal agents is doing the groundwork.

USAF - enlisted in '73

My dad was 82nd Airborne then 4th Ranger Co. Korea. He was not paranoid or a psycho.

Pio1980 05-19-2021 09:07 AM

I've been disappointed by groupthink Trump support by fellow former military members, it seems to follow mainly combat arms members. Perhaps a tolerance if not advocacy of "law-'n-order" authoratarianism with a bigoted subtext.

Well, there's TWO that aren't psychos........
Did I say anything about ALL military members and veterans being paranoid psychos? No, I didn't, did I? But, such people DO gravitate to the military, especially Special Operations. Ever spent time around Navy SEALs? I have.

Me; USN, 1982-1986
Sister; USN, 1975-1983
Brother; US Army, 1963-1967
Brother; US Army, 1968-1972 (Vietnam)

My Father; USN, 1939-1951 (WW2)
Paternal Uncle; USN, 1939-1959 (WW2)
Paternal Uncle; USN, 1939-1974 (WW2, Korea and Vietnam)
Maternal Uncle; USN, 1941-1945 (WW2)

Trust me, there are people in the military who fancy themselves heroic figures on a mission from God like Roman Centurions sent to expand the Holy Empire. In some circumstances, we need such people.......but on a tight leash.

Capisce?

Just my thought.....

But, research Flynns career. There is your Trump man who knows military psyops.

If I knew all of that I wouldn't be sitting here, listening to Sinatra and talking to you. I'd be at the FBI hunting down morons who took pictures of themselves battering doors at the capital, posted them on Parler and now wonder how they got caught.:D

From an interview on 2 NEWS/OKLAHOMA 3/19/2021, Flynn
Quote:

Then in the summer of 2015 at that time he was just Mr. Trump, we connected, and we hit it off really well," Flynn said. "We had the same theme in common, and that was what was best for America.
tRump is only concerned with is what's best for him. If someone, anyone believes that fatass is concerened about America's best interests then they're highly suspect in my book.
Those idjits smiling for the cameras during the insurrection were brainwashed into thinking what they were involved in was something historically patriotic. Hoping to go down in history as stopping the soci@list Blue Horde from stealing their beloved AmeriKKKa.
