GA Senate Race

Nate Cohn @Nate_Cohn

Ossoff and Warnock are both on track for victory with a greater than 95% chance to win, according to our estimates.

This is not a projection, but the remaining vote--including another 18k DeKalb early votes and nearly 100k absentee votes--overwhelmingly favors the Democrats

Buh-bye, Moscow Mitch! :D

As of midnight, Warnock up 35,000, Ossoff down 2000. 2% of the vote still outstanding, which is 85,000 or so. If that's mostly red rural counties, then Ossoff in trouble and Warnock not home free. But probably won't finally know until noon tomorrow.

Looks like Georgia will be sending two Democrats to the Senate.

Enjoy being minority leader Mitch!

Good news in the morning! Warnock looking solid, fingers still crossed for Ossoff, but he now sits with a 16k lead. Go Georgia!

What will the Senate do today?

Will this be a waking up, fever breaking moment for the cult?

Or a doubling down?

How will the Banana Republicans react?

nailer 01-06-2021 06:29 AM

AP has declared Warnock the winner. Other race remains too close to call.

Another rigged GA vote. ;)

RickeyM 01-06-2021 06:46 AM

Donny's gotta' be sweating bullets. Of course either Repub that loses will cry fraud and demand a recount .

Romney: “it turns out telling voters the election is rigged is not a good way to turn out your voters...President Trump has disrespected the American voters, has dishonored the election system and has disgraced the office of the presidency”

Heh. Kinda liked the old Lindsey. He predicted well. He'll be hamstrung for at least the next four years...

Dave Wasserman @Redistrict

Look guys, I've seen enough. Both Raphael Warnock (D) and Jon Ossoff (D) will win by margins comfortably exceeding GA's 0.5% recount threshold. #GASEN

I get .049996%, using the numbers FiceThirtyEight is showing. Wonder what the Georigia recount law says about rounding....

Chicks 01-06-2021 11:57 AM

Gabriel Sterling: "Jon Ossoff will likely have a margin outside of the .5% to avoid a recount."

donquixote99 01-06-2021 11:58 AM

What would it take at .04996? Two more votes?

On The Trail: Eight takeaways from Georgia's stunning election results

"Georgia voters on Tuesday turned out in massive numbers to decide control of two U.S. Senate seats, and with them majority control of the upper chamber in what became the most expensive statewide political battle ever waged in American history.

The results delivered the political equivalent of an inside straight, as the Rev. Raphael Warnock (D) became only the second Black man to win a Senate seat in a Southern state since Reconstruction, and his fellow Democrat Jon Ossoff appearing poised to become the first member of the Millennial generation to win election to the Senate.

Here are eight takeaways from last night's results:

Black voters delivered the Senate ..."
