Highest gas prices in the country

In Michigan ? WTF

We over took Cal and Hawaii as the highest prices in the nation. What a bunch of BS !

merrylander 06-07-2009 07:28 AM

What are they? Going for around $2.60 here for regular, much depends on which county you buy it in.

Sandy G 06-07-2009 07:33 AM

'Bout what it is here, too, Rob...I managed to fill up The Mighty Valdez last nite at Wally-World for $2.36 a gallon, tho.

Grumpy 06-07-2009 11:35 AM

Michigan's average is 2.93

soundhound 06-07-2009 01:52 PM

doesn't this belong in the conspiracy theory forum? i think it's all a scam. supply and demand my ass.

Sandy G 06-07-2009 02:09 PM

No, its "Supply & Demand" alright- The oil futures traders 'n' Speckalaters DEMAND mo' money-an' we supply it...Takes a lot to run a posh, swanky Manhattan condo, a nice little place in The Hamptons, keep 2 kids in Ivy League schools, alimony for their mom, & keep The Trophy Wife in nose candy & baubles, bangles 'n' beads from Tiffany's...Shit, maybe we need to send those poor guys more...(grin)

Price of gas

$2.49 here in Bugtussell. Donated app $125 to the cause last week alone. Guess I should be thankful, a couple of years ago we spent $900 in one month.

Can't wait until the Feds add another $.40 per gallon in taxes.

Ya know, I'm beginn' to think that they's out to git us,
Chas

Beginning?

ausjoe 06-07-2009 05:34 PM

Can't remember all the specifics but the refiners apparently cut back production little while back. They will say to match demand but could it be to drive up prices. Naw couldn't be that.

That & the country has switched over to "Summertime" gasoline.

I'm still pulling 'cheap winter gas' out of the big tank I filled when it was cheap ( a buck-fifty a gallon ). My trucks seem to run no different on it now thats it's hot outside and one truck is 1975 and the other is 1994. If I'd had the money, I'd have stocked up alot more than I was able to. I'm fixing to start buying gas again week to week to fill up the S-10 soon, and at these prices I'll bitch quite a bit at the pump like I did last summer, or park the 1975 like I did when it was over 4 bucks a gallon. The 1975 has a home built 100 gallon aluminum fuel tank on the bed that it runs off ( has no tanks under the truck ) that I filled up when it was cheap and it is still just about full. It should last for a few horse rides anyways since I don't pull more than 30 miles to ride when I decide to ride elsewhere other than home.By the time I burn that up, maybe I can stock up with cheap winter gas again... if it goes down that cheap again. It pisses me off because I know darn well they only shafting us over the summer. Dunno about the rest of the country but here I see far more folks driving on the roads here during Thanksgiving and Christmas than I do in the summer. But yet they jack the prices up saying everybody and their brother drive during the summer. It may be true elsewhere, but I don't see it here. :(

At least we don't burn bottled water. What's a gallon of that stuff cost if you buy it in the little plastic bottles.:p
