So how do you feel it is going?

Waggs098 09-29-2020 09:00 PM

:( I feel sorry for Joe Biden.

Waggs098 09-29-2020 09:41 PM

So how was that?

RickeyM 09-29-2020 09:44 PM

tRump looked like hot shit. Lying as usual, typical Repuke stuff of talk loud, talk over your opponent, rudess prevales.

Pio1980 09-29-2020 09:52 PM

Trump of course made it a train wreck, Wallace needed the ability to cut the mic connections to maintain control.

Trump was, objectively, a bully throwing bullshit. Biden handled it fairly well, could have been better, could have been worse. But Trump had the heavier lift in this debate, he needed to convince, independent, discerning swing voters to come back to him, to turn against Biden. He needed to hurt Biden. Biden never looked hurt to me. Trump threw a lot of punches, but mostly they just hit air.

Not Insane 09-29-2020 10:15 PM

I think Trump could have done better, but overall I loved it. This woman pretty much covers it:

"Shut up, Man" and Joe Biden's Other Best Debate Blunders

I'm linking to it the way I did because there are lots of comments there that are a lot of fun. :)

But yeah, Trump could have done better, but I don't think Biden recovers from this.

BTW, this will probably be the only debate. I don't think Biden dares do another one.

donquixote99 09-29-2020 10:47 PM

There were opportunities that Biden failed to capitalize on. As far as I'm concerned, Trump disqualified himself at least three times. First, on race relations, when he ducked the subject in favor of a law and order rant. Second, when he failed to denounce white supremacists and instead issued direction to the Proud Boys, and third when he asserted he would not necessarily abide by the results of the election. Biden should have called him out on these points and crushed him. But some swing voters that are fair minded and not racist will have noticed these points anyway.

Biden could have been smoother, more pointed, more clear. But he did not come off as incompetent, or unable to stand up to Trump. So Trump will not take any of his lead away, and may have disqualified himself with some voters. Trump loses debate 1.

Only an ignorant, uninformed fool, who believes Donny’s lies, could possibly feel “sorry” for Biden, who was far more accurate and presidential tonight.

Proud Boys celebrate after Trump's debate callout
On their account on the social media app Telegram, the Proud Boys appeared to take the statement as marching orders.

Orange Shitstain incited violence, yet again. He belongs behind bars.

donquixote99 09-29-2020 11:37 PM

"Stand down and stand by" was a promise of trouble later. People don't want trouble. Trump hurt himself here.

Oerets 09-30-2020 06:12 AM

The debate just made clear the vast differences between the two in abilities.

Also the appearance of desperation and fear was all too apparent in Trump!

Donny's handlers will tell him he didn't come off so good. Of course he will think he did just fine.

Of course Dump and/or his mouthpieces will say that isn't what he said and if it was it wasn't what he meant, as usual

It was a promise of trouble later, "if"...

And yes, a lot of Americans got the message. The brown shirts will not win here like they won in Germany, even if mayors let them have the run of the city.

After the election it is over - no matter who wins - because Trump will still be president without an election looming. And the Fed's hands will no longer be tied. The lunacy will stop.

Not Insane 09-30-2020 08:40 AM

Lin wood's take on it:

1. Chris Wallace fought hard but lost fight by decision to @realDonaldTrump

2. Biden’s favorite son was Beau, not Hunter.

3. Jill Biden hid behind mask, Melania did not.

4. Democrats grooming is for mail vote election chaos, Trump knows it & will be ready.

5. Biden looks ill, Trump looked tanned, rested & ready.

6. Biden allowed to interrupt, Wallace chastised Trump.

7. Police support Trump, none support Biden.

8. When Wallace stayed out of it, Trump won by 3 1/2 years over Biden 47 years.

9. Trump had a mask handy, Biden did not.

10. Biden is the Democratic Party, Democratic Party is dying.

11. America apparently had a recession before Covid-19 & no one knew it.

12. There is a difference between unsolicited mailed ballots & solicited absentee ballots.

13. AOC & Pelosi will be upset that Biden does not support Green New Deal. Or does he?

14. Trump is a brawler, Biden is a name-caller.

15. With 4-5 exceptions, Fox is CNN.

16. Trump had facts, Biden had talking points.

17. Biden will pack SCOTUS.

Let's complete that "if..." You and Trump mean 'trouble if Trump doesn't win the election fairly.' Which he won't, and it won't be because if anything except the majority of voters rejecting Trump.

Trump's real goal last night wasn't to try to attract more votes. He doesn't plan to win that way. His goal was to solidify and radicalize his base, to support his after-election coup. A plan your message overtly supports. A plan of treason against the constitution and democracy.

That is leftist lunacy. I understand that is what you believe, but that is not what I see as his motives. In fact, that seems to be what the left and the democrat leadership is going for, ever since Trump was elected in 2016 and they've actively refused to recognize his presidency because of their comical "popular vote" nonsense.

When I say "if", I'm talking about "if trump wins and the rioting escelates". or "if Trump loses and the rioting escalates."

Trump is president until at least late next January. The states chose him. And he's hell bent on improving this country until the last day in office, be it in 2021 or 2025.

RickeyM 09-30-2020 08:59 AM

When tRump loses (fingers crossed) by a large enough margin will the Republican Party stand by (bend over) for his coup attempt or will they grow a pair and tell him he has to go.

A Disgusting Night for Democracy
Orange Shitstain made it so, and Chris Wallace let him.

https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/ar...ocracy/616541/

Donny needs to be in an isolation booth, with his microphone totally under the control of the moderator - a moderator who will not tolerate his bullshit. Donny is a complete disgrace, who has no business leading anything. Only complete and utter fools would vote for him.

Chicks 09-30-2020 09:06 AM

Why Can’t He Just Say It?
Orange Shitstain refused to clearly condemn white supremacy at last night’s debate. This was no accident.

https://www.theatlantic.com/politics...debate/616546/

Racists, including a couple of members here, were clearly triggered.

Pio1980 09-30-2020 09:07 AM

Right, the "States" chose him over the people's voted choice of Hillz.

RickeyM 09-30-2020 09:09 AM

A good point is that the moderator was from Faux News. Taking away a tRump complaint the Liberals were pulling a hit job on him. Which he will anyway

donquixote99 09-30-2020 09:12 AM

When millions flood the streets in response to Trump's power grab, Trump and his traitors will call it 'rioting.' But they can call it whatever they want, they won't have enough Proud Boys to stop it.

nailer 09-30-2020 09:20 AM

Via radio, Trump was Trump and Biden came across as weak.

Regarding facts - we are all aware Trump is the lyingest President in our lives. Even whell pointed this out. Get over it.

Best though is getting to enjoy Addled Homie's Trump thumping propoganda once again and of course the replies.

That's what Trump wants, for people to 'get over' his lying and all of his other intolerable behavior, to accept rotten as 'normal.' That is, those people who aren't authoritarian followers who flat out admire his 'strength.'

Pio1980 09-30-2020 09:25 AM

Would I be wrong to say that Donald's tactic was to use the event to drop his signature Cleveland steamers all over the stage?

And flood the streets we will. After seeing what I'm seeing I have no doubt tRump will claim victory if he in fact loses.

Via Reight-Wing conservative talk radio...
There fixed that for ya'.

nailer 09-30-2020 09:42 AM

Actually you didn't, but you did just provide further evidence supporting the theory that you are a politically biased fool.
BTW, wasn't aware NPR was heavily Trump biased.

Trump is indeed throwing rotten food at his opponents. An age old political tactic. He's a rude crude dude. Get over it. :)

Democrats see fundraising boom following wild debate

https://www.cnbc.com/2020/09/30/demo...and-biden.html

Quote:

Joe Biden and his party scored a huge fundraising windfall during and after Tuesday night’s acrimonious debate with President Trump.

The Democratic fundraising website ActBlue processed close to $8 million between 9 p.m. and 11 p.m., according to the site’s live ticker.

Rufus Gifford, Biden’s deputy campaign manager, tweeted on Wednesday that he had never received so many “calls/texts/emails from people wanting to give money to the campaign,” than he had in the previous 12 hours.
Thinking people were horrified by Donny's outrageous behavior, and responded accordingly.
