He planned this. 'Suicide' by New Yorker reporter. It was noted at the time that there were very odd aspects to the conversation, one being that 'on-record/off-record' was never mentioned.

I agree with those who think this claim is BS, either by Bannon or the person who shared it. The New Yorker interview content would have been different if his departure was already scheduled.

Bannon wanted to be fired. That way he could become a martyr for all his Alt-Right fanboys and make more money spewing shit at Breitbart.
