Liberals say "If only we could just get them to care."

Conservatives say "If only we could just kill them." :(

whell 07-25-2017 01:14 PM

Nah. Folks just express themselves in different ways, and we have to be patient and tolerant of folks choice of expression. Here, for example, is how Dems express themselves, in their typical reasoned and intellectual fashion:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mfbrz4obJNM

...with, of course, one of their elected party leaders applauding.

That's the kind of world republicans want.

Only people who agree with them 100% allowed.

Women must know their place.

People of color must know their place.

Poor people must know their place.

Rich white man rule, everyone else obey without question.

And it you don't know your place, you should be killed.

That's the "freedom" republicans envision.

Are you stating your approval of Farenthold's comments?

More likely, your default argument is whataboutery, and you can't stop yourself from trying to use it to flip any criticism of the Getting Older Party.

And while you typed the above, the lefties in the Senate just inherited the mantle of the "party of no", by voting "no" on even engaging in debate.

The Rep in the article didn't say that.

True enough, but your counter example is lame.

That's because the lefties are there to make this country a better place for everyone, not tear it apart, eliminate everything good about it and turn it into a third world hell hole for the benefit of the 1%.

She later apologized, but really, this dude has no business in Congress. Surely about as incompetent as Trump to lead.

Then there's that other gem from Texas, Louis 'Aspersions on Asparagus' Gomert.

The Getting Older Party? Funny how that type of age-biased commentary comes exclusively from the Dems these days, but usually its targeted at their own party's leadership. Way to expand the playing field, counselor. This coming in a thread where you criticize others for their choice of words. Bravo!

Right, 'cuz the best way to do that is to behave in exactly the way many on the left, including many right here in this forum, believed was reprehensible during the previous administration. The Dems have now inherited the mantle of the "party of no". So, please spare me your selective indignation.

Actually the name flows from the demographic profile of the GOP voters, which is disproportionately made up of older white men. The party's Dear Leader is doing little to change that demographic.

By the way, I did not criticize the choice of words, but I asked you if you approve of them. Do you? Are you willing to take a stand, or do you prefer sniping? I know, stupid question.

What difference, at this point, does it make? The left has endorsed hateful rhetoric and imagery with mock beheadings, Dem party leaders chanting "F@ck Trump" at their meetings, etc. If that kind of rhetoric is acceptable, I fail to understand why you'd get your undies in a bunch with any other commentary.

Also, notice that you're criticizing someone's choice of hyperbolic language in a thread whose title hyperbolizes someone's appearance. I suspect that little piece of irony is lost on you, however.

Once again a BS comment from you.

The Republicans have the WH and the Congress and do not need any votes from Democrats to pass legislation (see SCOTUS confirmation).

Are they laughing at and mocking Trump, then the question is why not?
What has this administration accomplished to deserve any respect?

CarlV 07-26-2017 10:16 AM

Not really the point, since the same was said about the Repubs starting back in 2009. However, when your preferred party has embraced the mantra of "resist", abandoned any coherent messaging of their own, has trouble articulating what they stand FOR, and votes against even debating legislation, then I'd suggest that the mantle of the "party of no" has definitely passed to them.

What are you complaining about? Here, you're celebrating the Trump's visit to the Boy Scouts to Hitler speaking to the Hitler Youth.

You've elevated talking out of both sides of your mouth to an art form.

The content of his speech to the Boy Scouts was akin to the deranged stuff his kindred spirit Adoph would have said.

Don't you get tired of defending this deranged, narcissistic lunatic?

There is nothing to celebrate in this mentally ill President making a speech of that nature to our young people. They had to sit there and take it, at least I could turn off the TV and go do something meaningful, which is what I did. :)

Then how do you know the "nature" of the speech?

It's been in every newspaper, John. It was a disgusting and vile display to use the Boy Scouts as a prop and backdrop for Trump's malignant narcissism. You should go read the transcript.

Yeah, especially the part where the kids started chanting "We love Trump.".

At least they had some lefty adult supervision. They were told that they couldn't chant "build that wall".

Besides, what do you care what Trump says to the Boy Scouts? The lefts hates the Boy Scouts. Dem delegates actually booed them at the 2000 Dem convention when they showed up and lead the Pledge of Allegiance.

Nice of you to admit that lefties are the only adults in the room.

How do you know this was spontaneous or for that matter these scouts even understood WTF Trump was talking about?

FYI - "Snatch a knot in your ass" is smart-ass southern white boy speak for getting a beating. Since it was made in direct response to the question referencing Lisa Murkowski, in my neighborhood that constitutes a direct threat of physical violence directed at Lisa Murkowski.

(This is also is my open invitation to Buddy Carter to drop by my place any time and we can see who gets a knot snatched in their ass.)
