Actually the name flows from the demographic profile of the GOP voters, which is disproportionately made up of older white men. The party's Dear Leader is doing little to change that demographic.

What difference, at this point, does it make? Not really the point, since the same was said about the Repubs starting back in 2009. However, when your preferred party has embraced the mantra of "resist", abandoned any coherent messaging of their own, has trouble articulating what they stand FOR, and votes against even debating legislation, then I'd suggest that the mantle of the "party of no" has definitely passed to them.
