I'm Thinking A Tea Party Forum Is A Necessary...

because the movment is so strong and it would let our diehard R's and D's attack the threads like I do theirs. Good God...flame away!...:p

Fast_Eddie 04-21-2010 12:29 PM

Why would the Republicans attack a thread about a group of Republicans?

It would be like shooting fish in a barrel. Picking on intellectual cripples isn't all that fun.:p

piece-itpete 04-21-2010 12:51 PM

The GOP is a big tent Eddie, there's interparty fights. Makes us strong like elephants :D

Seriously, many Tea Partiers believe the GOP has sold them out, and at least from their point of view I'd say they're right.

I get pretty frustraited hearing this from them too. Yeah, they messed things up pretty good. And you're angry because you're the ones who voted for them. Well how do you think the rest of us feel! Can't tell you how many times I heard people say "I think W was a terrible President" but if you push them, they voted for him... twice. Thanks a lot.

noonereal 04-21-2010 09:07 PM

teabaggers are traitors plain and simple

we had an election, they lost, so now they want the country fail

americans respect democracy, teadirtbaggers do not :)

Here's an idea! Why don't you go off somewhere and start one? Be sure to let us know how it goes.

John, the OP has decided to join in the discussions without insults. Whatever complaints we have about the Tea Party, it is an inescapable fact that it is part of the current political landscape. Therefore, I believe a TP forum is appropriate on this board. I would like to have a debate about their issues based on the substantive reasons they disagree with the current administration, and for that matter with the GOP.

Regards,

D-Ray

I agree. Personal insults and name calling do nothing to advance the argument from either side. Let your conviction stand on its own.

What about all those leftie nuts burning Bush in effigy all those years?

The left should be scared of the tea partiers - older folks vote.

Oh! I didn't realize he'd had a change in style, if not a change of heart. This must have happened during my enforced absence. I was assuming the guy who likes to challenge people to fist fights over cars was still here. I guess I ought to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Now, for a serious response to the OP's OP.

I think having a dedicated Tea Party Forum isn't any more desirable than having a dedicated Liberal/Democrat or Conservative/Republican forum. These various perspectives can be (and are) expressed quite adequately within the context of the PC Forum as a whole. There's no need, IMO, to "Balkanize" this place any more than it already is.

Yeah, they need a forum before there is one for dems, republicans, libertarians, greens.....

No one burned Bush because he was appointed. These dirtbaggers have been trying to collapse my country since the day they lost the VOTE. Protests against Bush did not start until his actions became illegal and immoral. There is no correlation between the two groups.

Actually, that's not true. Protests began as soon as the Supreme Court appointed Bush. There were many protesters along the motorcade route for his first inaugural but it got scant attention from the "liberal" media.

John

Fast_Eddie 04-23-2010 03:54 PM

It really is quite different. The election issue, no matter what you think of it, was a legitamate issue of contention that spoke to the legitamacy of the administration. The conduct of the war which many legal scholars do indeed contend was illegal under international law is a legitmate issue of contention that people saw fit to protest.

Obama did win the election, by a pretty fair margin. And people are angry at him for doing *exactly what he said he would do* when he campaigned. That's not a protest, that's crying because you lost.

Actually -- at the risk of being a commercial -- that's fear of change.

It's a brave, new, world and the "Undiscovered Country" scares the bejesus out of some folk: those that fear things like Natural Selection. :D

Natural Selection?! You mean Evil-ution?

I loved listening to Bush talk about bird flu. You remember that? He would say "and the virus can mutate". MUTATE?! Do you mean evolve? Naaaaahhh.

although I am sure you are right, I recall no mass orchestrated protests advocating armed rebellion with a mickey mouse character at the helm

Oh, you're absolutely right! We're seeing something completely new here. It's very troubling having so many people "armed and clueless".

The GOP hasn't sold them out, the GOP is trying to destroy them through assimilation. And it's working. How many "Tea Party" candidates do you see lining up for November? By then the GOP will have them convinced that voting Republican best represents their views. Does it?

Dave

The face of the Tea Party:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jbc06...layer_embedded

More and more, this is what the Teabaggers are revealing themselves to be. They're a clear and present danger to the country they pretend to love. They deserve nothing but the contempt of anyone who truly loves America and wants the best for its citizens.

(Take note of Michelle Bachmann in the background stirring these lunatics up.)

John

BlueStreak 04-24-2010 01:24 PM

I dunno, John. He seems genuinely concerned, passionate and frustrated.
Thing is, the Heathcare bill (Law?) seems more like a sweetheart deal for the (very) capitalist insurance industry than true socialism. But, then as someone once told me when I was in the Navy, "Marines aren't paid to think, they're paid to fight.". So......

"...back to when everything was fine and dandy, and they were there, but they kept to themselves and they were nice...." ---In referrence to Jews and homosexuals.

Yeah, I'm really sick of gays and the Jewish constantly getting in my face and slapping me around. And God knows, Obama put them up to it.

What a bunch of shit!

Come to think of it, YEAH, let's start a "Tea Party" forum. I think it would be tons of fun.
It has my stamp of approval.

Dave

piece-itpete 04-26-2010 09:56 AM

Of course the GOP is trying to destroy them through assimilation, it's what political parties do.

Pete

merrylander 04-26-2010 10:17 AM

Assimilate them? God, I'd flush them, such gross ignorance might just be contagious.

Hmmm. The GOP assimilating the Tea Party?-----"Mutually Assured Destruction" in this case, Rob?:p
