Trump family’s elaborate lifestyle is a ‘logistical nightmare’ — at taxpayer expense

"On Friday, President Trump and his entourage will jet for the third straight weekend to a working getaway at his oceanfront Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach, Fla.
On Saturday, Trump’s sons Eric and Don Jr., with their Secret Service details in tow, will be nearly 8,000 miles away in the United Arab Emirates, attending the grand opening of a Trump-brand golf resort in the “Beverly Hills of Dubai.”
Meanwhile, New York police will keep watch outside Trump Tower in Manhattan, the chosen home of first lady Melania Trump and son Barron. And the tiny township of Bedminster, N.J., is preparing for the daunting prospect that the local Trump golf course will serve as a sort of northern White House for as many as 10 weekends a year.
Barely a month into the Trump presidency, the unusually elaborate lifestyle of America’s new first family is straining the Secret Service and security officials, stirring financial and logistical concerns in several local communities, and costing far beyond what has been typical for past presidents — a price tag that, based on past assessments of presidential travel and security costs, could balloon into the hundreds of millions of dollars over the course of a four-year term." Remember when the 'grifter in chief' Trump bitched and moaned about Obama playing golf and taking vacations?

Not really, but I didn't give the guy much, if any, attention until he entered the Republican primary race. No surprise he's a do as I say not as I do type.

We provide extensive security for our Presidents and their families in order to give them the maximum possible protection from assassinations, kidnappings etc.

Fuck you if you don't like it.

bobabode 02-17-2017 04:44 PM

Ennywho...

Three million per weekend at Mar el Lago.

Thanks Drumpf.

Rajoo 02-17-2017 04:45 PM

...and everything has to be within reason when dealing with tax payers money.

CarlV 02-17-2017 04:51 PM

That is just the start, we used to call Bush the vacation President because he was until Trump. We have a new king! I wonder how things will be after the end of his term when it is found out how he has been using his new job for fleecing the American public.

Well there are 300 million plus Americans so that works out to about one cent per capita

Tell you what Bob. I'll kick in two cents and cover your share.

We good now?

I have no problem with providing as much protection as needed for first families.

What I do have a problem with is that those here defending Trump would be the first to whine and cry if we were spending that money for Hilary.

icenine 02-17-2017 08:35 PM

Trump used to criticize Obama for always being on vacation. Then again Trump probably justifies his vacations because he is white.

nailer 02-17-2017 10:31 PM

And now Trump's the President being criticized by the current disloyal opposition. :)

donquixote99 02-18-2017 06:49 AM

I am loyal to the people of the United States. I am loyal to the Constitution of the United states. I am not loyal to the enemies of both.

nailer 02-18-2017 09:37 AM

It's a play on loyal opposition.

BTW, just because Americans have views diametrically opposed to yours doesn't mean they're enemies of the state. You're becoming a liberal Tail-Gunner Joe.

The expense does not bother Trump because he pays no taxes. And of course he would expect the king and his "court" to be accommodated and protected everywhere they wish to live or go. Again like any Monarch, he pays no taxes, he just uses them, the bill is not his to pay.

I can also imagine the conservative uproar if Obama had had the uppityness to insist taxpayers cover his travel to a resort EVERY FUCKING WEEKEND. I can imagine the uproar if Mrs Obama had decided to live in a high rise hotel instead of the white house. What an uppity bitch they would scream!

The hypocrisy of the right is simply breathtaking.

Except 45% of Americans don't pay taxes. Including one of the wealthiest men in the country, Rump......

He's the ultimate welfare queen.

OK, I'll up my weekly contribution to 3 cents and cover Trump's share too.

Hell, make it 4 cents. I'll get yours too.

Oh, what the fuck, let's make it any even nickel.

Who else wants me to cover their share?

Anybody?

Better hurry, because this is the last one I'm gonna do.

Nickel a week is my limit.

I'm not a rich man. ;)

The right to voice ones opinion is worth a lot more than one cent and dissenting opinions have a purpose in a democracy.

By all means, bitch away about anything you feel like bitching about.

I certainly do. :)
