Trump's National Security Spokesperson Caught for Large-Scale Plagiarism

Conservative author and television personality Monica Crowley, whom Donald Trump has tapped for a top national security communications role, plagiarized large sections of her 2012 book, a CNN KFile review has found.

The review of Crowley’s June 2012 book, "What The (Bleep) Just Happened," found upwards of 50 examples of plagiarism from numerous sources, including the copying with minor changes of news articles, other columnists, think tanks, and Wikipedia. The New York Times bestseller, published by the HarperCollins imprint Broadside Books, contains no notes or bibliography...

Crowley, a syndicated radio host, columnist, and, until recently, a Fox News contributor, will serve as Trump’s senior director of strategic communications for the National Security Council.

http://money.cnn.com/interactive/new...ces-2012-book/

Scrolling the complete list of discovered plagiarism at the bottom of the article, it's hard to imagine she's ever had an original thought. Between Breitbart Editor Bannon, fake news fan/distributor Flynn and plagiarist Crowley, Trump has sure surrounded himself with some massive assclowns to develop national security policy. I thought he was going to hire the best.

Meanwhile, Trump continues to attempt to ramrod his cabinet appointees through the Senate before vetting is complete. Ignorance is bliss, I suppose.

Imagine that.

Refuses to act Presidential, refuses traditions of the office, who is above the laws of the land, and hides everything personal out of fear the public will find out he truth.

Damn! This plagiarism thing is rampant--it is bi-partisan. :D

Plagiarism is the sincerest form of flattery.

Plagiarism is the sincerest form of fraud. (FIFY)

Trump appointee has no original ideas, and no morals. Just what is wanted at the highest level of government.

I get so tired of the argument that because they behave badly, you can be excused for behaving badly too.

It's a small child's argument and I hear it so often from the right.

Indeed only one is in power.

And who is the highest ranking plagiarist in power?

It's still morning in CA and I am on my second cup of Java, so help me, who is the highest ranking plagiarist in power now? :)

It now appears that she also plagiarized her doctoral dissertation.

YAWN!!!

Obama plagiarized Deval Patrick.

Joe Biden plagiarized Neil Kinnock.

Apparently you can only recycle the same bullshit once or twice before someone starts to notice.

whell 01-10-2017 07:27 AM

I can't wait for CNN to weigh in on this. Maybe they can get Fareed Zakaria to do a special news program about it.

Using somebody else's sentence in a political speech is a different animal than plagiarizing over 50 times in a book you're selling or, worse yet, a doctoral dissertation. It'll be interesting to see if Columbia yanks her degree. They should.

Dondilion 01-10-2017 08:26 AM

Joe Biden admits to plagiarism in law school--five pages out of a fifteen page paper.

MrPots 01-10-2017 09:05 AM

I'm sorry, that's how I'm reading this thread....the democrats did it so it's OK if the republicans do it.....

In addition to irony, degree is another thing they just don't get.

Hillary is called "Killery" for the handful of dead in Benghazi. The Bush administration pushed hard for war in Iraq under false pretense.......What was that? ~4,700 American soldiers dead under his watch?

My, my, my............

I think the "Killery" moniker (Ouch!) involves more than Benghazi...Hillary is observed exulting in killing.

Like Khadafy (or Bin Laden for that matter) didn't need killing?

Personally, I hope Pres. Obama sticks a Hellfire up al Baghdadi's ass before he leaves office.

Yes, but Obama is often seen as sober.

It took the media about 5 minutes to look up Crowley's writings. But after 8 years, itsn't it just hilarious that they still can't find Obama's "Aristocracy Reborn" master's thesis from Columbia, or any of his records from Occidental College, Columbia University and Harvard Law School?

Classic media BS...

There you go, spreading more fake news after something embarrassing to Trump comes out.

http://www.factcheck.org/2012/07/obamas-sealed-records/

BTW, PhD dissertations are available online to anyone who wants them (that's the point of PhD's - to contribute distinct and original academic knowledge, something I'm not surprised you wouldn't know).

http://www.proquest.com/products-ser...dissertations/

Here's Columbia's comment on Crowley's apparent plagiarism on her PhD dissertation at Columbia:

“We have no comment on Monica Crowley’s dissertation, which was submitted in 2000 and is publicly available. The University’s process for addressing concerns raised about University research preserves the confidentiality of any review, and even the fact of a review’s existence is confidential while it is underway. Columbia is committed to upholding the very highest standards of integrity and credibility in academic research.”

It will be very interesting to hear what she has to say about this.

Re the Factcheck subject graphic: one fact they missed checking is the claim that Obama's 'master's thesis at Columbia' is sealed. I don't now how a thing that does not exist can be sealed. Obama never attended graduate school at Columbia and does not hold a master's degree.

The graphic is from a right-wing ad that Factcheck was debunking. The producers of the ad didn't seem overly concerned about being factual, the very reason for the fact checking to begin with.

Unworthy victims: Western wars have killed four million Muslims since 1990
Nafeez AhmedWednesday 8 April 2015 15:12 UTC 10.7K 26.8Kgoogleplus200 57.1K

Last month, the Washington DC-based Physicians for Social Responsibility (PRS) released a landmark study concluding that the death toll from 10 years of the “War on Terror” since the 9/11 attacks is at least 1.3 million, and could be as high as 2 million.

The 97-page report by the Nobel Peace Prize-winning doctors’ group is the first to tally up the total number of civilian casualties from US-led counter-terrorism interventions in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan.

The PSR report is authored by an interdisciplinary team of leading public health experts, including Dr. Robert Gould, director of health professional outreach and education at the University of California San Francisco Medical Center, and Professor Tim Takaro of the Faculty of Health Sciences at Simon Fraser University.

Yet it has been almost completely blacked out by the English-language media, despite being the first effort by a world-leading public health organisation to produce a scientifically robust calculation of the number of people killed by the US-UK-led “war on terror”.
http://www.middleeasteye.net/columns...-1990-39149394

4700 US military, and most likely just under 500,000 middle eastern civilians just wanting to live in peace, could be in the millions.

Monica Crowley, recently appointed by President-elect Donald Trump to a key national security communications job, said Monday that she would relinquish the post amid multiple allegations of plagiarism.

Remember Mike Barnicle went through this and interestingly enough Don Imus defended him to the end.

And of course Barnicle turned on him instantly over the racism charges.

But, what else would you expect from a lefty.

MrPots 01-16-2017 04:50 PM

Odd how "lefties" as you put it are so intolerant of racism. It's almost as if they feel all men are actually created equal. How silly.......

It is fortunate that blacks are black. Otherwise at least once in a while they would have to use some other reason for their problems.
