Establishment Dems Have Finally Stopped Pretending They’re Different From The Neocons

This author is one of the few people on the left that understands the scam that the two party duopoly is running.

Quote:

So neolib pundits and politicians all agree: that thing they’ve been doing where they pretend to be two separate groups with two different ideologies? They’re not doing that anymore. The political battle lines are getting largely redrawn for the incoming administration, with the so-called “centrists” (read: bloodthirsty corporatist warmongering extremists) in the Democratic and Republican parties on one side of the divide, and the wall-building Trumpsters on the other.

Which makes everything a whole lot simpler, I guess. While it’s depressing to see how unrepresented progressive values are on Capitol Hill, at least the disease has isolated itself. Democrats are no longer pretending to be a progressive party, which could free up a lot of confusion and highlight the gaping hole on the political left that neither party is interested in filling anymore. The sooner we can get people unplugged from the state propaganda being rammed down their throats by the mainstream media, the sooner we can get Americans to stop propping up the oligarchy with establishment support and start filling that hole with a new progressive party.

I particularly like this part:

Quote:

Here I am defending Trump again. It pisses me off that Democrats are so off-their-meds crazy that Trump keeps looking like the sane one by comparison, but look who’s opposing him! Look at their “The Resistance” movement, which is trying to imitate the spirit of Bernie’s movement but which was put together by the same people who sabotaged his campaign. People keep bugging me on Twitter with #TheResistance hashtags telling me we should all be linking arms to stand together against Trump, and it gives me the creeps. I like my rebellion oligarchy-free, thanks. It’s like Marie Antoinette sidling up to you at the protest line saying “Yeah, we sure hate those damn aristocrats, huh? Hey, anyone want cake?”

Why the Hell not?

I have no desire to revisit the cold war.

The Russian people are not my enemies.

No shit, Sherlock. Who said anything about the Russian people? The Iranian and North Korean aren't our enemies either, nor are the people or Mosul. It's the guys with guns and bombs following their leaders' orders who are the enemies, tovarich.

Trump is trying to tell them that the Russians are weak and are not the ones confronting us economically but he is being noised out by the Soros clique which was kicked out Russia, old cold war warriors like McCain and an intelligence matrix which has as its aim the balkanization of Russia.

Here's the deal with me Finn.

If Trump gets us out of the business of trying to be the World's Police, I don't give a rats ass what else he does or doesn't do, he will be, IMO, the best President this country had had in my adult life.

That's just empty rhetoric.

Our propaganda machine will be conditioning us to demonize them all.

I am old enough to remember how it was during the Cold War.

Me too, and I traveled to East Germany, Hungary, Poland, Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia and the USSR at the time. The people were fine. The governments sucked loudly.

In my travels to over 60 countries, people all around the world want the same thing for themselves and their families, but Communist, autocratic and kleptocratic governments (the kind you seem to be attracted to) weren't able to deliver.

Gee Finn, that's real white of you to say that!

So it's OK for the American people to be on friendly terms with the Russian people but it's not OK for our respective governments to be?

That's sounds pretty much batshit crazy to me.

I wonder how in the Hell a world traveler such as yourself got to be so goddamned stupid. But then I remember that all this time you were working for the United States DOD, one of the most Orwellian organizations in the history of human civilization and it suddenly begins to make sense.

I guess that just goes to show you how little you understand about the world around you. That's exactly as it is in every country I've been, whether they're friendly or hostile to America. The people like Americans just fine, but many don't like our government and its policies. It'll be far worse once der Trumpenfuhrer is inaugurated. The only governments and people who preferred Trump to Hillary were Russia and North Korea, just your kind of places (Israel's government preferred Trump but their people preferred Hillary).

I have no doubt that in your DOD brainwashed mind you believe that you have provided rational justification for reigniting the cold war with Russia by posting this inane drivel of yours.

And I have neither the time nor the inclination to attempt to unwind the effects that those decades of said brainwashing have had on you.

Therefore I leave you to wallow in your ignorance.

In other words, don't confuse me with the facts.

Finn is right Tom, I have traveled enough to have seen this same attitude by people. Florence and I were welcomed with open arms but just don't talk politics with these folks.
