Usually it's those down ballot races that slide through on the coat tails of the Presidential Candidate.

What do you think the problem was Bob?

You don't think it had anything to do with her being a shit candidate do you?

The governor was a flaming @sshole, for starters, who lost all sorts of contracts and sporting events because of his silly transgender bathroom law.

I guess it's a good thing for Trump that he wasn't a flaming asshole too, or he might have gone down with the Gov. ;)

McCrory's actions resulted in the NBA All Star Game and the ACC Conference Football championship going elsewhere. Though McCrory and Trump are indeed both assholes, depriving a city of the opportunity to host two marquis sporting events is truly damaging in terms of economics and reputation.

So are you ready to agree that there are bigger assholes than Trump out there?

That would be a good step forward. :D

Trump's a bigger asshole but McCrory hit voters where it hurt - in the pocketbook with all the big boycotts and businesses cancelling relocation deals to Charlotte. If Trump doesn't deliver on the economy and improving Obamacare, he'll be toast too.

I agree with that.

I'm just more optimistic that he might than you are.

Plus if he doesn't deliver, I am also optimistic that it will spark a revolution.

I was using a little hyperbole when I said a Bolshevik or Fidel Castro type revolution.

I don't ask for much. A Bernie Sanders type revolution will do me just fine.:)

The only problem with any American revolution or civil war is that it would pit the armed, reactionary rubes supporting the plutocrats against everybody else. A teabagger's paradise.

donquixote99 12-05-2016 06:54 PM

Lot of loose talk here. A revolution is politics continued by other means. Which is to say, it's war. In war, God is on the side of the heaviest battalions. It's might-makes-right, in spades. It's nothing like what Bernie Sanders people imagine when they talk about a 'revolution.'

It is pure dumb luck if one good thing comes out of a revolution. A real one, that is. A Bernie Sanders dream of a progressive president and a progressive congress? The name for that isn't 'revolution.' The name for that is 'good acid.'

If it came to an armed conflict (God forbid), Berniacs wouldn't know one end of a gun from the other. They'd only go to war if fresh cappucino and biscotti were brought to the front lines.

How dare you? Everyone knows that Bernie's army will be riding unicorns into battle armed with glitter grenades and lightsabres.

Bernie was from Vermont as you may recall, which has the least gun control of any state. Hillary attacked him on gun control throughout the campaign.

It's the Hillarybots that want to disarm the citizenry. That's because they are the tools of the ruling class who don't want the masses to have the means to revolt against the corrupt system.

This country is ripe for a revolution.

The anti-establishment movements of the Trump supporters and the Bernie supporters far outnumber those that are satisfied with the status quo. All that is needed is for these two factions to unite.

Of course you don't want change Finn.

The ruling class has allowed enough crumbs to fall off their table onto you to keep you paid off. And that's all you care about.

That wasn't my point. My point was that hipster millennials are about as likely to come over to Trump's camp as pigs are to fly.

I never know any more if you're serious.

A close review of the election returns, combined with voter interviews, makes clear that McCrory’s reluctant embrace this spring of House Bill 2 – known as “the bathroom bill” – cost him his job more than anything else.

You don't know that.

As usual.

Or so says the man who thinks he knows what Trump actually believes (when Trump himself doesn't seem to know). In any event, if such changes occur, it will be with Trump's signature affixed to the legislation.

sheltiedave 12-06-2016 11:27 AM

TJ, Ryan has already completely fucked over your SSI and Medicare, you just don't realize it. The gerrymandering of congressional districts to ensure Republican over representation, when the Senate and president also are republican, will translate into wholesale legislation passed en masse. Trump and his billionaire cabinet don't care about you. Ryan is wrong the legislation as we type.

Indeed. Our rulers and lawmakers don't need either program, and they certainly don't want to pay for them. Social responsibility is for pussies.

You Hillarybots are funny with your chicken little doom and gloom scenarios dancing like sugar plums inside your head.

You would think you people learned your lesson after that humiliating election, but you're still setting yourselves up for more with all these ridiculous prognostications of yours that are never going to come about.

And this nugget of wisdom comes to us courtesy of a guy predicting a Castro-type revolution. Jeez.
