That's 1,000 more than Obummer saved and he is the President.

Actually, it's about 799,000 fewer.

Obummer didn't lift a finger to help save them.

We'll have to wait eight years to find out how much better Trump will be for the economy than Obummer has been in his eight years.

Most of those jobs your bringing up don't compare to the Carrier jobs just saved. The Carrier jobs were leaving because Obama is a Globalization kind of guy.

Hillary got castigated for giving paid speeches to Goldman Sachs. Now Trump is filling his administration with Goldman Sachs corporate Masters Of The Universe type money changers.

The auto industry jobs don't compare? In any event, Trump's grandstanding at Indiana taxpayer expense is not a sustainable model.

The difference being Hillary Clinton was owned by them and she owed them big time and would be delivering for them when she got to be President.

Trump on the other hand doesn't owe them a Goddamned thing. If anything, he owns them, not vise versa.

He owes the Bank of China nearly a $1 billion in loans? Who owns whom? I can't decide if you are more bitter, stupid or naive. Kind of a toss-up, I suppose.

So, in regards to what Bernie said..... Does this deal set a precedent for other companies to ask to be paid to keep their jobs here and not outsource them?

Will the average line worker have to pay (more taxes) to keep their job?

And, we still haven't heard all the details. How long is Carrier obligated to keep those jobs here? Are they going to outsource them in five years?

This was Pence more than anything since he is still the governor and was the one who could move the money around to award the $700,000 annual tax break.

I am glad the workers kept their jobs but this is not what Trump was promising. Carrier and other companies can do exactly all the things they want to as far as taking advantage of the global economy and the opportunities it offers.

Right, Pence was what made the deal work. In typical Trump fashion, someone else does the heavy lifting and trump takes the credit.

But, once they both take on the presidency and vice presidency, I think they won't be able to continue to make these kinds of deals. Maybe I'm wrong, but seem to me this deal only worked because Pence is still gov of Indiana.

Well then, there you have it.

It was Pence not Trump.

Trump will make much better deals once he gets in office.

In typical Trump form, he's making "deals" with other people's money (in this case Indiana taxpayers). Once he's put into a position of having to craft actual economic and industrial policy, he'll be about as clueless as you are.

The American economy hit bottom in 2009 and has been steadily recovering ever since. All your Lord and Master is doing is trying to grab credit for things that very well might have happened if he never existed.

However Trump key appointments so far might be a better mark of where Trump is going and the Carrier deal is more than likely just throwing a bone.
