Bannon?

What do you guys make of this? I think it's a confirmation of our darkest fears. And Prince Ream-us is already being tapped to make Bannon look less racist, make him acceptable. Very nice.

Pio1980 11-14-2016 11:56 AM

Not a good omen, but I don't think he'll last.

Reinhold, otoh, will be the 'Pubs' sensible establishment anchor baby in the WH.

He is not racist Dave. He is very smart and went to some nice schools. Plus like Newt said he worked in Hollywood and fiance so he can't possibly be an Anti-Semite.

Plus he is a former Navy Officer. As you and I well know Dave there is no way a Naval officer can be less than honorable.

Oh, no, of course not. Who ever heard of such a thing? Everyone knows all Republicans are nice people and the military possesses not a single whackjob, hater or idiot. At least that's what I've heard some people say.

I've spent some time over at Breitbart ever since they shit-canned their reporter for complaining about being assaulted by Lewandowski. I wanted to see what "Trump's Pravda" is all about. In short, it is one the most vile, putrid and racist sites on the Interweb. It makes Limbaugh seem like a closet liberal.

donquixote99 11-14-2016 02:45 PM

Maybe they will ask Trump about that, the next time he's on 60 Minutes.

Something like, "Mr. Trump, since you have appointed Steve Bannon your 'chief strategist and senior counselor,' shouldn't we physically kick your ass out of here and soak your chair in lysol?

(I'm sure the reporter will be able to fix that question up for actual TV use while leaving meaning and intent intact.)

Pio1980 11-14-2016 02:51 PM

That's why I don't expect him to last, the 'Pubs won't have him in their midst for very long. If they do would suprize me as he doesn't serve the plutocrat agenda or look good in the direct sunlight of international exposure.

Stephen Bannon is a fine upstanding man, a symbol of moral righteousness. Trump is a genius.

You obviously don't have a clue about the kind of crap he's responsible for at Breitbart (or you like it and confuse it for moral righteousness).

Yeah and they have those coal black eyes that penetrate your soul. I think the frogs may be alien lizard people in development stage.

I'm scared. What are you going to do to soothe me President-elect Trump?

Indeed. Scary as hell ain't it.......

donquixote99 11-14-2016 07:04 PM

But it's just satire. Just a bit of fun. Everyone should be nice and certainly racist attacks in public should never happen.

Until things start going crash in a year or so and we need scapegoats.

The only thing that keeps Bannon from being the Josef Goebbels of the white right is Alex Jones.

I don't think he'll be satisfied without adding some more to his first two titles. 'National Media Leader,' perchance?

After all, he's in the White House and Alex Jones isn't....

d-ray657 11-14-2016 09:28 PM

Doesn't a position at that level need senate approval? I think that he would be a few GOP senators short of majority on Breitbannon.

Pio1980 11-14-2016 09:43 PM

Chief of Staff and Special Advisor roles don't.

No, the Chief of Staff and all the core advisors and assistants of the White House Office do not require senate approval, according to Wiklipedia.

The office of Counselor to the President has been considered of cabinet rank in the past, but not since 1993. In the Obama administration, it has been vacant since John Podesta left it in Feb 2015.

"Chief Strategist" seems to be a special title not found in the White House Office previously.

Breitbart News is preparing a lawsuit against a "major media company" over claims that it is a white nationalist website, it said in an exclusive statement to The Hill.

The website has been under intense scrutiny since President-elect Donald Trump named Stephen Bannon as a senior White House counselor and strategist. Bannon is the former executive chairman of Breitbart News, and the site has become associated with the “alt-right” movement that helped propel Trump’s candidacy.

"Breitbart News Network, a pro-America, conservative website, is preparing a multi-million dollar lawsuit against a major media company for its baseless and defamatory claim that Breitbart News is a ‘white nationalist website,’” the statement reads.

"Breitbart News cannot allow such vicious racial lies to go unchallenged.

Now that he's in the White House, Bannon is acting like Trump, suing anyone who dares tell the ugly and unvarnished truth about him.

donquixote99 11-15-2016 02:42 PM

If you call us racist, you're racist. Where have we heard that one?

Tom Joad 11-15-2016 04:16 PM

I could be wrong but Trump's appointments don't concern me all that much.

Trump does not strike me as the kind of guy to let his advisors roll him.

Trump's the Big Kahuna.

It will be his way, or the Highway.

CarlV 11-15-2016 04:55 PM

Let him be appointed, maybe we can get a nice civil war going and get it overwith LOL. Seems Obama never came for their guns so they have plenty of bullets after being duped by the NRA for eight years. :)

What gonna happen if the Lefties start buying up guns and ammo along with Latino, Hispanics and other Ethnic Religious or Racial groups? Start forming Patriotic Militiamen groups running around armed in public? Making statements akin to We want our Country Back!

Will they then be given the blind eye and a pass? My answer is a big HELL NO!!!!!!

That might be OK, but he doesn't know shit from Shinola about any public or foreign policy issues. Zero, nada, zilch.

He knows people.

And by that I mean he knows how to figure out what makes them tick and put that to use. That's way more important. He can learn the nuts and bolts of foreign policy.

From whom? Nobody with any foreign policy chops is willing to work for him, and the few that do have been shown the door (Rogers and Corker). You really want foreign policy run or influenced by the slimy opportunists who remain (John Bolton or Rudy Guiliani)?

icenine 11-16-2016 09:24 AM

Trump has to hire about 3000 people to run his administration.

I don't think they have realized that yet.

Incompetence combined with a queasy feeling about Trump's foreign policy and security capability could lead to him becoming Impeachment Meat.

Or 25th Amendment Meat.

25th Amendment is why a majority of the cabinet will be hyper-loyalists, regardless of other qualifications or lack thereof.

You fools have been writing Trump's political obituary for the past year and a half and you've ended up with egg on your faces every time. This time will be no different.
