Quote:

According to a report published Thursday by the National Law Journal/Law.com, Moira Smith, 41, alleged that Thomas repeatedly squeezed her butt during a dinner nearly 20 years ago.
Story Continued Below
Smith, vice president and general counsel at Enstar Natural Gas Co. in Alaska, was a Truman Foundation scholar helping Louis Blair, who directed the foundation at the time, prepare for a dinner at Blair’s home in Falls Church, Virginia, with Thomas and David Adkins as the featured guests. Thomas was to present Adkins, then a Kansas state lawmaker as well as a former Truman scholar, an award at the Supreme Court the following day.

no surprise here, I have suspected he was guilty all along. Anita got the shaft.

Here's the poor traumatized Ms. Smith.

Been a dem in the political circle up here for years. Her husband had to leave a congressional primary w/tail between legs when it was revealed he made up bogus web sites attacking his dem rival.
And note that in Alaska these democrats have no qualms about working for fossil fuel energy companies.

She's also had a long history of attacking the other side, accusing 'pubs of a "culture of corruption". She should know a cheat when she sees one, she's married to one.

Don't know how long she's been representing Enstar, but they had a doozy a few years back. Tried to raise rates due to a metering/billing mistake at the Army Base that went on for a couple decades and ran up a $5.7M shortfall for the utility.
They were raising rates to pay for their screw up until the regulatory commission, led by the dems, put a stop to it.
I'd bet she was in the middle of shutting them down, and now she's on their team.

Sounds like the kind of "class act" the John would want to canonize. And Anita Hill was a Dem tool and a lying sack of....

Was that picture taken before or after he groped her? Don't know, do you?

Why, in cases of sexual misconduct, do you guys always try to besmirch the reputation of the victim?

So, neither of you clowns can attack the story(s), only the victim(s). It must hurt whenever one of your Opus Dei brethren gets caught with his pants down.

Yeah, but he's a Republican so it's okay. Geez, when are you guys going to figure it out?

You go low, they go lower.

"You guys" do that? Were James Carville and Bill Clinton one of "you guys" when Carville made his "drag $100 through a trailer park" comment in defense of WJC?

Save your faux indignation.

How do you know I'm not lumping you in with Carville?

And save your own fake outrage.

Who's outraged? Seeing you dig up this old snooze news is actually pretty funny.

The allegations against Uncle Thomas are fresh as a daisy and concern an incident which occurred in 1999, eight years after Thomas was confirmed.

This issue was never settled in my mind. What was his motivation to make his moves? What was her motivation to make the accusation?
They would know there were risks, more for her as a young woman than him as an established male professional re believability.

It's never easy for a woman to come forward with allegations of sexual abuse. The overwhelming majority of them are never reported.

In light of this, I would have to conclude that Anita Hill was resigned to remaining silent until Thomas was nominated for the Supreme Court. When that happened, she must have felt that she needed to come forward in order to prevent the confirmation of a sexual predator for a lifetime appointment to the highest court in the land. I expect it's much the same with respect to the women who are coming forward to accuse Trump.
