Early Voting Has Begun

Now that voting has begun, it stands to reason that some PCers have voted. Why don't we all post to this thread and then tell us who you voted for in the associated poll? Confidentially, of course.

Pio1980 10-18-2016 06:56 PM

Don't I wish here.

For some reason the poll is to close before the election takes place even though I scheduled it to close on 11-09-2016. I can't find a way to edit the poll.

icenine 10-18-2016 08:49 PM

I mailed my ballot in on my lunch break today at work.

JCricket 10-18-2016 10:10 PM

still waiting for my ballot. Maybe tomorrow.

Since I won't be using any of the early polls (too far away) I may as well tell y'all I will vote for Clinton.

bobabode 10-19-2016 09:42 AM

Clinton/Kaine on Nov. 8th in person here. :)

nailer 10-19-2016 10:05 AM

Where's none of the above?

68custom 10-19-2016 10:07 AM

I keep hearing that Texas may go 'blue' this election. ;)

Decided to go ahead and vote today. Both of us voted straight Dem. This was do to the high turnout so far. Today around noon we had to wait twenty minutes at the court house.
Still not the thrill of going on election day but quicker.

I went Tuesday on the way home from work. Three people were in line ahead of me. The polling place was well-equipped, and the staff well-trained. There were 60 voting machines available. Then when I drive across the state line to my Missouri office, there is no early voting at all. That is why we hear all the news stories about people waiting in line until three hours after the polls are supposed to close to finally get to vote. I suppose I need to look up the Missouri Statute that requires employers to allow their employees time off to vote.

As you know, it's one thing to have such a law, and it's another to avoid the disfavor you may incur by exercising such a right.

68custom 10-27-2016 03:09 PM

voted yesterday in our local community building, well run and no vote stealing or rigging was observed.

sheltiedave 10-27-2016 03:15 PM

X-ray, it is three consecutive hours, with no loss of pay for any hours missed, for any election. Since we work til 5 pm, and polls close at 7 pm, we leave at 4, vote, and get paid for the missed hour as long as we tell the boss the day prior and present evidence we voted.

CarlV 10-27-2016 03:17 PM

I mailed mine in Monday. The polling stations are as much social centers here and the big ol ballot this time makes me not want to go there. :)

I just sent the info to my union clients. It is a pretty safe bet that the signatory contractors will know better than to raise a stink.

But you are correct about the effect of any employee protective law. I have been asked if an employer can retaliate against someone for supporting a union campaign. The answer is that such retaliation is against the law, but it can be a long arduous process to enforce the law.

Can we reopen this poll to run through election day?

Maybe a mod can change the date.

You sure you don't want to end on the 28th? ;)

Tom Joad 10-31-2016 08:26 AM

Thanks Bob.

And here you see how your hard core Hillaybot works.

Even this neutral innocuous thread is not immune from being beshitted with Trump bashing posts.

barbara 11-02-2016 12:07 PM

When the truth is stated, it isn't bashing in my opinion.

nailer 11-02-2016 12:08 PM

Not when one has facts to rely on.

In football terms, 'best defense is offense', or is it the other way around. :)

In pio's defense, this has been his stated objective all along and I would give him a pass, and he is not a Hillarybot IMO

Truth can be different from fact.

The dude is in Alabama, a state that is in no way competitive and he's stated that he's going to vote for Hillary. That makes him a Hillarybot IMO.

No, it makes me aware and prudent about the unintended consequences of doing something utterly stupid.

Just got back from voting.

I'm making this post to give this thread a bump.

donquixote99 11-08-2016 10:13 AM

Got 'er done. Did due dilligence and found out who the Dems were running for Ohio Supreme Court. Took a little digging.

O'Donnell and Rice, if anyone wants to know...

But you didn't post who you voted for.

What do you think this is?

Some kind of "secret ballot"?

The tread title says 'Early voting...', so voting today is not early voting.
Since he posted after voting, I am glad that he did not choke while voting. :D

He's probably too ashamed of who he voted for to put it out in public.

I would be too, if I voted for who he did.

Nah, DQ and PIO have been consistent and up front about their choice, though I do not agree with their reasoning.
