Election Burn Out

I can't wait til this election is over.

I am so tired of hearing about it.

Oerets 10-18-2016 06:59 PM

Barbara, I know what ya mean. But my wife since the tape came out of the "boy talk" is consumed with it. Goes to bed watching it and gets up and turns it on.
It woke up some real discuss in one who up till then, knew who she was voting for (HRC) but paid no attention to the daily games.

It has been on for about two years.

Election/politics is big business employing a ton load of professionals.

I wonder if the tape had a different impact on females than it did males.

My husband and I were talking about it and he was questioning why none of the women went to authorities at the time it happened. I completely understood why they didn't go to authorities at the time.

I heard that only 20% of rapes are reported. (I have no idea how accurate that is). I suspect that groping is hardly ever reported to authorities.

My guess is that most adult women have been groped inappropriately at least once. I have no scientific data to back that up.

Yes.... Big business.
And after the election they will start getting ready for the next one.

Kudos to Anderson Cooper for not letting him off the hook and pinning him down in front millions of voters on national TV. The orange masher is toast.

Indeed, the election fatigue has become numbing. As noted, it's been non stop for two years now and something needs to be done about it. This assault on the American public by our political system has got to stop. The American people don't deserve this crap.

Trumps bullshit has me up at night worrying about what his nutcase supporters are going to do. I'm considering buying a rifle.

I'd recommend a Louisville Slugger... or a twelve gauge pump action. ;)

I thought i was the only one who felt this way. Maybe I am not as paranoid as I thought. Shotgun for me though.

How's this for election burnout?

Or a sensible handgun.

Start by thinking realistically about what threat is possible. Then design tactics to meet it, and finally, obtain weapons to suit if called-for.

Rifles are good if the plan is to get together with the neighbors and defend an area.

I think that for the most part, if trouble requiring guns is actually expected, the only good defense would be to be elsewhere.

Stop wondering. Even my sister the Trump supporter was sickened by it. If true? She chooses to believe it is made up by HRC just to tarnish him. My wife said she knew men just like Trump all her working life.

We are now aping right wing gun nuts...load up and stock up, the men in black helicopters are about. :D

Here is good stuff for that burned-out feeling:

After the election, trump has a great future with an act for Vegas....

too true

Something I notice. This year there are virtually no political signs in my neighbors yards. Normally by this time they are littered with them.

It's not men in black helicopters I'm worried about. Ignorance and anger are a scary combination.

I'm seeing a lot of yard signs for the various ballot initiatives and a few for local candidates but essentially none for the presidential and congressional elections.

Choice is between bad and worse, or worst of the worst, depending on your perspective. On my drive up to Portland, remember seeing just one sign, and that was 'Farmers for Trump'.

CarlV 10-19-2016 09:29 AM

Kill your TV, put on some Coltrane. :)

Outside of the usual random home invasion burglaries, I don't anticipate an uprising.

One yard sign seen but it was so large the Donald must have put it up.

His effect on women? Terrible if it is a woman who was ever assaulted.

If this is the case I'd go with assault rifles.

I fully agree it's best to be elsewhere when lead flies.

Any pref? Friend likes the Kel Tec 30 but I'm not much for tactical war toys for civilians, not as if that horse is long gone and bred several generations.

bella fleck and he fleck tones.

My son introduced me to a band called "two steps from hell"

I would call the style "Epic Classical" Modern style classical with a very strong emphasis on adventure and battle.
