firebomb on NC GOP head quarters

anyone else catch this
http://www.nytimes.com/2016/10/17/us...irebombed.html

Someone threw a fire bomb onto a GOP headquarters building in North Carolina.
Also had graffiti.

I hope they catch who did this an prosecute them harshly. I also hoe Hillary will stand up and adamantly condemn this.

BlueStreak 10-16-2016 08:47 PM

Saw that and can't think of a more idiotic and self-defeating thing to do.

Unless;

I also saw Trumps knee-jerk reaction........................

Immediately, he states that it was done by someone "representing" Hillary Clinton.

The first thing this SOB does is run his mouth with ZERO proof of any wrongdoing on the part of HRC. Which leads me to wonder if it wasn't someone hired by TRUMP. I have no proof of that, but it would be a damned stupid thing for HRC to be behind something like this and I really don't believe she's THAT dumb.

I don't know, guys, this really stinks.

This shit gets scarier by the day.

$10,000 goal, $13,000 + pledged in 5 hrs, no longer accepting donations.

Be interesting to see if the Republicans accept the money.....

Business insider is a site I will not go to again. First they block me from reading because I have adblocker. then I turned it off. Then they kept me blocked from reading anyway. They i went to their homepage, and watched them dialog with all kinds of tracking and analytic sites for a couple of minutes, before i got sick of it and killed the tab.

It should, because I have little doubt that it is hatred that is motivated and inflamed by the course rhetoric on the left...some examples of which are right here in this thread. There is a subset of the left that owns characterizing their political opponents as fascists and Nazis, and it predates this election cycle. While we don't yet know specifically who did this and what their motivations were, if the perp is ever caught I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to find out that he / she is a hard - core lefty.

You are correct in that we should not speculate who did this and why until we find out the truth. But left wing terrorism is very rare in the US now...most of the massacres are lone-wolf gunmen, Islamists inspired by what is going on in the Middle East, or anti-government types like Timothy McVeigh.

Interesting study.

Quote:

The study, which covers the period between April 1, 2009, and Feb. 1, 2015, and includes violence from both the radical right and homegrown jihadists, finds that a domestic terrorist attack or foiled attack occurred, on average, every 34 days. It also shows that fully 74% of the more than 60 incidents examined were carried out, or planned, by a lone wolf, a single person operating entirely alone. A total of 90% of the incidents were the work of just one or two persons, the study found.

Nailer again nails it.

You just wait on the sidelines for such opportune moments.

Pio1980 10-17-2016 10:38 AM

Remember that there is an irrational dynamic at work in the Republican candidate's appeal.

Only in degree and, perhaps, significance. Let's see how this shakes out.

More than that - it relates to the people in power who want to consolidate power.

Yessir Rob, Trump has been playing the victim card very strong lately, it only makes sense that it was staged by morans.

"What we know so far"?? Who's the "we" and what do they know? last I heard the police had no suspects, so sounds like you've got a scoop, John.

finnbow 10-17-2016 08:52 PM

It sounds kinda like Kristallnacht in reverse. In this instance, the Nazis got their windows smashed and their offices firebombed.

Could be ACC fans. Losing the baketball tournament has pissed off a lot of folks. Trump is a fair target for their anger/rage.

CarlV 10-18-2016 02:26 PM

I wonder how Fox Spews will spin this one.

Quote:

Democrats joined a campaign to raise $10,000 to reopen the GOP office, meeting the goal in less than 40 minutes and “showing that Americans are thirsty for civility and decency, and that we love our democracy above all differences,” wrote the GoFundMe drive’s creator, David Weinberger, a researcher at the Berkman Klein Center for Internet and Society at Harvard University.

Easy. The spin is that rank and file Dems have far more class than their leadership. Maybe if there's a few bucks left over, they can help pay for this too:

The real spin is Goppers are always so eager to play the victim card, almost as eager playing make believe with nonsense such as voter fraud and Benghazi.

No but I do believe the Republican party is in the midst of a civil war between the Trump/Freedumb Caucus wing and the rest of the GOP.

Breaking out the popcorn here.

Carl

So, was Podesta playing the "victim card" when he alleged voter fraud in 2008 during the Iowa caucuses?
