Mission Accomplished at DNC, Clinton Hires Wasserman Schultz for Top Post

I'm trying to think of how this could look worse, and failing.
And she is still so much better than the Boaty McBoatface nominee of last week.

'Hires' is a stretcher. Honorary whatevers don't get paid.

Friends should be cherished, should they not?

Rajoo 07-24-2016 11:15 PM

Dumb move and guess Hillary figures she does not need Bernie supporters' votes now that Bloomberg has endorsed her.
Only time would tell how this will impact the election but she did hand over another talking point to Trump.

How about crooked Hillary hires a crook. What a dingbat.

Wasillaguy 07-24-2016 11:20 PM

Not much to lose at this point. Hillary knows everyone views her as a much bigger crook than mop head ever dreamed of being, and rightly so.

Channeling the Donald, I see.

I heard that Ben Jealous endorsed Hillary today.

Being called a crook by Trump is like being called a tyrant by that North Korean troll.

Senator Sanders tonight will in his kickoff speech will set the tone for the rest of the convention. He has said the most important issue is stopping Trump! So the speech had better be a great one! I defer to him, he was the one most affected by this. If he can move on so can I. The main issue is defeating Trump!

Personally I think the Democrats are to confident of a victory and need to change a few things.

Like I stated before, anyone who thinks this is or was to be unexpected. Or unheard of in past or future elections are not paying attention. Life's not fair, a lesson one should of learned by now.

The word honor and Debbie WS in the same sentence is quite hilarious. :)

Yes, those were my first thoughts too. That this could be viewed as payment for a job well done never crossed my mind.

This was a dumb move and it will cost Hillary a point or two in the polls. Drip, drip, drip.

Pio1980 07-25-2016 10:50 AM

If it wasn't for who /what is the alternative, this could be devastating.

It is a fecking wonder that the teapot has survived all these tempests. Lots of people are made 'honorary' whatever. Means they get no staff, no budget, no authority but it does conveniently put them where they can do no harm

With Debbie, it's more like a genie in a bottle for Hillary, just that her hair was in a tempest. ;)

DWS just bailed from gaveling in/out the convention.

Was that the plan?! What a bunch of tone-deaf idiots.

As massive a swing as that? You're presuming a big proportion of the relatively small segment that's in play at all knows who Schultz is, knows she's said to be an evildoer, and cares enough to flip over this. I don't think that works out to be so many.

You are probably right in your assessment but the people that do know will keep harping on this for the benefit of others. This could have been avoided by letting DWS walk swiftly back to her swampland instead of being 'honored' for her services.

There is something like 50K strong Berniac's protesting the Hillary coronation (not snark, even the media people are calling this convention a coronation!) and this will be more red meat for them.

Most people don't even know who the vice-president is. In 1981 I worked in a light-fixture factory and a woman at lunch told me she did not know who the VP was.

Yep. Now they plan to have Baltimore mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake gavel the convention open. I'm not sure it's a great choice after her mishandling of the Freddie Gray affair and aftermath (at least that's the prevailing perspective in Baltimore). She screwed it up badly enough that she chose last September not to run again for the office.

Actually Finn the one screwing up at the moment is the Judge. The Leftenant who threw Gray into the van without a seat belt would not hesitate an instant to give me a citation for not wering my seatbelt.

And those are the people whom you're counting on to elect Hillary. How very sad.

No

My point is no one knows who the DNC chair is outside of a bunch of bitter old Bernie Bros. That woman knew who Reagan was.

Actually John it sounds quite representative of the average voter left or right. That is the 40% who even bother voting.

But you knew, and what does that make you?
I would rather be a miserable Bernie bro than a corrupt Hillary worshiper.
