Loretta Lynch recuses herself from Clinton E-mail case.

Loretta Lynch the AG recuses herself from Clinton's E-mail fiasco.

Lynch found herself under pressure after she met privately with Bill Clinton.

She exercised poor judgement and now had to do the right thing.

It hurts to see a lady whom I admire so much get caught up in the Clintons' saga.

You are making this to sound like this meeting was somehow foisted upon her. Sounds like she willingly met with Bill Clinton. As to her own motivations, I suspect that she is also a strong supporter of Hillary since she is part of the Democratic establishment. Trump has been handed new Hillary bashing artillery and now any decision by the JD will be suspect.

My post indicated "she exercised poor judgement".

If she did, she's industrial - strength stupid. She was probably all star-struck at the prospect of meeting Slick Willie, and forgot that a private meeting like that would reek of the appearance of impropriety.

Slick Willie should have known better as well, but then again we're talking about the Clintons who don't think the law should apply to them anyway.

Sorry disagree, she is the Top Cop for the country and as such is appointed for her legal judgement and professionalism rather than her political acumen and connections. At least she would have to put on that appearance in public.

Boreas 07-01-2016 11:25 AM

All I can say is that Bill must have had something important to say to Lynch or she to him for them to risk such a meeting. The only way now for the FBI to avoid the appearance of impropriety and undue influence is for them to indict Hillary.

Your mama's waiting for you
Wearing her high-heel shoes
And her low-neck sweater
Get back home, Loretta

Probably the reason Sanders is still holding his ground.

Nah, this is all just too cute for that. These folks HAVE to know better.

Lynch knows what the FBI has. If she has any aspirations of a career in politics as a Democrat, there's no upside for her to be the presiding AG when the FBI delivers its recommendation, particularly if its bad news.

I think Lynch wanted to get out of the way. This might just give her a way to do it without getting too politically "damaged".

whell 07-01-2016 02:59 PM

...and then the other shoe falls:

http://dailycaller.com/2016/07/01/ex...i-on-saturday/

Former Sec. of State Hillary Clinton is scheduled to meet Saturday with the FBI, a source close to the investigation into her private email server tells The Daily Caller.

The source went on to suggest the interview may take place at her Washington, D.C. home.

bobabode 07-01-2016 03:09 PM

I don't know what's more amusing, the conspiracy theories from the right about this fifteen minute schmooze fest on the tarmac in Phoenix or the breathless handwringing anticipation of an indictment from the far left.
Carry on.

That applies to about 1% of the population.....or more.

But you can't really blame them, they own the lawmaking process...

AG Lynch said there was nothing improper discussed. I'll take her word for it until something other than speculation is offered. The woman has a spotless record.

Even you have to admit that the optics of this are really really bad. Bill Clinton is reckoned to be some brilliant political strategist, "he smartest guy in the room". He had to know how bad this would look so the only logical conclusion is that he felt the meeting was critical to the campaign and basically worth the risk.

Maybe he was carrying an offer of the veep position on the ticket or Sec Treasury? ;)

Of course she did and of course you will. It's all about grandchildren and golf. Why else would Clinton delay his own departure to have an unscheduled chat with the person in charge of investigating his wife.

Talk about suspension of disbelief.

Bad optics indeed!

However Bob is too far invested to see this.

BREAKING NEWS!!!BREAKING NEWS!!!BREAKING NEWS!!!BREAKING NEWS!!!

'Hillary Clinton seen palling around with AG Lynch's boss!!!'

The fix is apparently in and the conspiracy goes straight to the top level of the Executive branch. Unnamed sources close to the Clinton campaign revealed that President Obama and Hillary Clinton are scheduled to be seen in public down in Charlotte, N.C. next week. 'Some people are saying' that President Obama plans to issue a blanket pardon for all the puppies she's kicked and that email thingy.

There's no conspiracy, Bob. But there very well could be politics.

Either Lynch or Slick Willie or both are beyond stupid and couldn't see the consequences of their actions, or they did this on purpose.

I didn't even read that article. The story is everywhere and it's a disaster for the Clintons. Your girl's old man really fucked up this time.

Hey, maybe this doesn't have anything to do with the emails. Maybe Bill was just trying to make sure he doesn't get roped into Trump's rape case.

Hmmmm, you may be on to something there, Mike. I've heard they're getting the band back together after all these years. I wonder if James Carville has a hand in this? ;)

If I were the tea leave reading sort, I'd say that next week will be interesting.

I do see light at the end of the tunnel, who said this is going to be easy for Hillary! ;)

Oh I'm well aware that Sec. Clinton has an interview scheduled. I just disagree with yours and the Daily Caller's conclusion.

Clinton hasn't done anything indictable. In other words, a nothingburger.

Oerets 07-02-2016 12:26 AM

Come on now, they knew each other for years now. Bill just being Bill and Loretta being nice to a friend and all.

I see nothing inappropriate here. But then no matter the decision from the Justice Department it will not be Draconian enough for the haters! When the truth is not acceptable a conspiracy will do!

Just how is this at her feet? You have a EX President showing up at the plane. She was being gracious and welcoming showing good manners. They know each other and when you get to their level are able to separate personal from professional. Any decision will be one able to be upheld.

Like stated before unless HRC is behind bars or un-electable the haters will not be happy with the findings. The haters of the Left have zero to run on other then conspiracy and innuendo.

Barney

I'll let her explain it to you:

“I certainly wouldn't do it again. Because I think it has cast a shadow,” Lynch said of her meeting with Bill Clinton. “The most important thing for me as attorney general is the integrity of this Department of Justice. And the fact that the meeting I had is now casting a shadow over how people will view that work is something that I take seriously and deeply and painfully.”
